TA Truck Service

I had to stop in because it looked like my right rear trailer hub was leaking. I had just had it replaced at a TA so there shouldn't have been greese seen. Joe the mechanic here found that the previous repair hadn't been cleaned properly so they cleaned the previous repairs. Both Joe and the young lady at the desk were both professional and reassuring. I am so happy to have came here. Today is August 28 2024 at 9:45 pm.

Pulled in today for a major coolant leak from my heater hose, 579 Peterbilt, these guys did a great job getting it repaired took him only 2 hours which was no time.

PROBLEM: 2002 Freightliner Classic XL, 12.7 Detroit. Came in with fuel pulling from driver side, dumping into passenger side, not leveling overnight.

SITUATION: I arrived to Memphis TN and found that my passenger tank was full of fuel and the drivers side was empty. Added 60 gallons to the driver (D) side; leveled overnight.

Drove 60 miles, sucked it down to 1/4 tank (only being measured on the driver side), returning all fuel in to the passenger tank. So on and so forth until it didn’t level anymore.

Woke up one morning and paid Speedco to move the fuel to the drivers side. After driving 115 miles, 120 gallons, that was on the driver side, had moved to the passenger tank.

Stopped at the Petro in Racine, WI to get it fixed, they removed the lines, blew air through the sytem, found a blockage on the passenger sider from the tee to the tank, but blew it out. POut it all back together.

Thought everything was fine, it wasn’t.

Got to the Petro in Oak Grove, MO, the truck died in front of the shop. They found that the line hadn’t been tightened and it had allowed an air pocket. Theo fixed it in the parking lot in ten minutes.

While fixing loss of prime in the fuel system, the Master Tech, Theo, found rubber in my fuel filters and concluded that the lines needed to be changed. This is a 2002 freightliner Classic XL that I’ve never changed the lines on. The explanation was that the line deteriorate from the inside, and then flaps start to occur that allow fuel to flow one way but not the other way.

While looking at the problem I brought the truck in for, Theo also found a bad carrier bearing, and a wheel seal that was leaking on my steer tire. I didn’t ask him to go over my truck, he was just being nice and did it; Thank God because those are both out of service issues.

COCLUSION: They had 4 new lines custom made, and had them installed in a day. They also did the carrier bearing and the wheel seal. After we started it up, the ole’boy sang like a sowing machine, the fuel leveled out like it supposed to, and I went on to my delivery.

EXPERIENCE: 10/10. They offered me coffee while I waited. The service ladies were friendly and joking around with me. The techs were knowledgeable — Adam, Theo, and this other guy that was teaching the techs in real time… he gave me so many wise pointers on my engine. Also, the managers blew it out of the water for me. The manager with the big beard was there for 15 hours one day, and was on site for two of his days off busting his butt on the ground helping customers beacuse they were busy; That guy was awesome, he was willing to work through the issues with me and stayed calm with a great attitude while doing it. The woman manager (that wears the beanie hat and is real calm) made the call to not charge me for parts that they could have charged me for; the suppplier didn’t provide the Petro with an invoice and she didn’t think it was right to hold me for another day while they waited for an invoice from the supplier (since the supplier was closed when they billed me out); She was 100% impressive in her decisiveness and "get it done for the customer" attitude. The only thing that could have made the experience better would have been a slice of pizza. Lol.

Updating my comment from before. The work Ben and the ones who helped did an amazing job on the lights. You pay for quality service and they provide it. Worked extremely hard and you best believe I'll be back to finish off my drives!!

Got me in the shop quickly. Ran into unexpected repairs, taken care of immediately. Techs were very knowledgeable and efficient.

Good service and they have a DQ and the Iron Skillet is open with limited seating. The restroom should be cleaned more often , especially during this pandemic that we are all in. Facemask are required while you're in the store and they're handing out free ones which is nice. Lots of trucking related goodys in side for making your truck look fancy. All around a really nice truck stop. I stop here quite often.

They took care of my issue in a very timely manner. Thank you.

Got my repair done. Fair price. Plus fixed something else gratis. Awesome!

I want to thank Joe for staying late to replace a missing clearance light on my trailer. He could have gone home but, knew I had been waiting since 1pm and it's now 11pm. He stayed because the night guy called in. Joe serviced my need with a smile in his heart.

Don’t say this about many TA/ Petro shops , but they have good knowledgeable mechanics at this location. It was a damn good thing for me because my water pump went bad pulling in to get fuel. They saved me from the dreaded hook.

They accidentally broke it ....but they fixed better than before at no charge. Good job fellas.

They are my new go to place for A/C work. Theo did an excellent job and was observant and found a couple of other issues and took care of them too. Troy, the service writer was on top of his game. Good place!!

Got me in at a reasonable time after a late check in and was in and out with a trk and APU SVC in less than three hrs. Great job!

We recently had AC work done here. We were given a quote to have it repaired out the door it was more than our quote was. It took longer than it should have, but it was not the shop or the technicians fault. I will not complain one bit for it being more or taking longer. It was a very eventful day in the shop, the items that had to be ordered in for us didn't show up when they were suppose to, we had a truck come into the parking lot on fire. It blew 2 aor bags amd 2 imsids tires. All the mechanics jumped in and did an amazing job taking care of the truck. Until the firr department arrived. Despite all the hiccups and excitement of the day, the staff was fantastic and pleasant to work with. Ben did an awesome job with the AC, it hasn't worked this good for awhile. This is one place we will be back to. And will recommend this place to all our truck.driving friends. Thank you for being great people and doing great work!

Ended up here at 2 am due to a blowout on trailer at midnight. Didn't get fixed and back on the road until 5:30 p.m.

Took all day to get repaired because the day shift didn't want to deal with it; however, this was a blessing because the mechanic who did the work knows what he's doing! THANK YOU FOR A GREAT JOB!

The tire guy on duty here is awesome! If it wasn't for that gentleman, I would have rated it one star - the people working the counter. 1 because they could breath. The shop guy was awesome...just tip him when getting there.

They are helpfull and good customer service

I had a couple of lights that needed replaced on my trailer. They got me in and out the door pretty fast. The way it should be. I waited maybe a hour and they got me in and out pretty fast. The guys there where cool as hell.

Troy and his Crew were awesome, I’d never been here, yet I’ve always passed by, now when I need a service of any type I’ll specifically be coming here as al others should as well
