Had the most wonderful experience hosting a private event at Volunteer Brewing Company.
We held a surprise party for my husband’s 30th birthday. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive from start to finish. The staff/bartenders were friendly, kind, and paid attention to every detail to ensure the party ran smoothly and the beer was delicious! The atmosphere was perfect! Live music, food truck, corn hole, lights, etc. Wonderful experience!

We held an Anniversary party for our parents on the second floor of Volunteer, and could not be happier with how things turned out! Kevin was incredibly helpful in the months leading up to the party, and the staff was amazing the day-of! They setup tables for us, made sure everything was clean & ready, and most importantly - served us delicious beer! I also frequent Volunteer on the weekends, and always have a great experience. If you’re looking for an awesome venue for a gathering, look no further!

We hosted my daughter’s bridal shower and everything was perfect. Kevin was very responsive, explaining their process and options and answering all of my questions. The 2nd floor is adorable and we added our own decorations to make the day extra special. I highly recommended Volunteer Brewing for your next event!

I held my baby shower at volunteer brewery I can’t say enough good things about them ! They were so help and accommodating they provided blue tooth we could play our own music. We had the food catered. They provided beer and ciders that my family and friends loved it. The space itself was super spacious they had a great deck and everyone had access to the downstairs which had fun stuff for the kids. 10/10 would recommend

Update: It's still amazing! They have expanded. They now have a lovely spot with indoor and outdoor seating. They have food trucks and live music sometimes. In addition to good beer they are also very community oriented. It's a great place to hang out!

Delaware is a wonderful place to be in if you are a beer lover! There are lots of great breweries to visit. Volunteer is no exception. This nano brewery (though soon to be expanding) puts out high quality beer in a quality location in Middletown. The staff is friendly and there is often live music and a food truck. If you are in the mood for a brewery put Volunteer on your list.

When deciding where to have my retirement party, I knew there wouldn't be any better place to celebrate then Volunteer Brewing Company. Thank you for making this celebration more than I had hoped for, the vibe and atmosphere doesn't compare to anyplace else in Middletown. The staff were simply amazing!

This place is so cool! If I lived nearby I would be over all.the.time. Beer is great and place is super inviting.

The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and comfortable. Plenty of seating all over and the staff is super friendly.

Someone really thought through all the details for everyone that could visit there: lots of seating, blankets if you are cold, cloth changing table for little ones, and great design makes you feel like you are hanging out at a friend’s house.

My family and I are new to the area and were happy to find a local, family owned brewery. The location reminded us of one back home that we missed! It’s small, but welcoming for everyone. They have coloring books for kids and a shelves of family games. Beer was good and no one batted an eye when we came in with the kids. We look forward to spending more time there when the weather warms up!

Volunteer Brewing Company was great to work with. We hosted my husband's retirement party there and it was a great experience. Kevin was easy to work with to set up the day. The bartenders were friendly and easy to talk to. Everyone was happy to step in and help out wherever needed. We would absolutely use Volunteer again for an event.

I love the cozy atmosphere at Volunteer Brewing Company. You walk in, grab a beer and feel right at home. The bartenders and guests are friendly and fun. Great tasting beers and happy times at VBC!

Great atmosphere and selections of food trucks. Dawn is amazing and so are all the people who work there! Venue is perfect, and we looking forward to hanging out during the summer.

They have a wide variety of beers on tap unlike some breweries who tend to overload on one type.
The inside bar area has a homey feel (the building is a converted 100 year old house). The outside area is cozy. A great place to gather with a few friends and sample a few beers. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The company is community focused. Highly recommend.

Outstanding beer and a family-friendly environment! Everyone at Volunteer is passionate about beer and ready to help in any way that they can. They have taken the time to try to convert my wife into a beer drinker but have not been successful yet. They do offer some wines that she loves. They also offer a hard seltzer if that is what you are into. It is the little things that Volunteer does that make it such a great place to go. They have two fire pits/place areas, blankets you can borrow, cornhole boards, and outdoor heaters to keep you comfortable in the cold season. They also have a fan outside and A/C to keep you comfortable during the hot season. They even have board games for adult-sized kids and normal-sized kids as well. This year they have an outdoor stage for local bands to play on. This place has something for everyone and everyone that I have met there is extremely friendly and ready to have fun conversations with. Almost forgot to mention that this is a dog-friendly place as well. They offer dog bowls so if your furry friend needs a drink of water.

Kevin at Volunteer Brewing was extremely helpful and expeditious in helping me put together an event for a bridal shower. He gave me all info I needed for it to be successful. Parking was adequate, upstairs room was rustic , bright and comfortable. Team was knowledgeable and helpful. Davis was in charge of party and went above and beyond expectations. We even stayed a lil later for festivities and drinks. It was a fantastic day and I have already told many people about the venue. Thanks Volunteer Brewing Company. Where others failed with customer service, you have went above and beyond.

Wow!!! I am not a beer drinker, so, to find a place like this is unbelievable! I tried 4 different beers and loved them all! I'm normally just a Sour Beer guy, and almost never find more than 1 option if that, so this place really took me by surprise. We won't hesitate to go back, definitely worth the 30 minute drive!

In searching for the perfect local brewery for our Friday night wedding welcome celebration, we instantly fell in love with Volunteer Brewing Company.  Kevin, the owner, made the entire planning process seamless and stress free. He had the perfect private room and deck overlooking the entire brewery to host our group of 50 out of town guests.  Not only did he work within our budget, he tailored the perfect selection of beers to accommodate a variety of tastes.  A bonus of renting out this space was that we were able to listen to the live acoustic music playing in their backyard oasis. We are so happy that we had the opportunity to support a local small business here in Delaware for our wedding weekend and we received many compliments from our guests for our choice in venue (and the beer is great!).  Whether you are planning a private event or just looking to drink some tasty beer, Volunteer Brewing Company in Middletown, DE will meet and exceed all of your expectations!

My fiancé had her bridal shower here. The beer was great and the room was perfect for how many people we had. Davis was helping us out that day and he was awesome! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to host an event or just grab a nice cold beer.

The Bolaris Winter Ale is the best beer I’ve ever had, it single-handedly converted me from Mormonism to Volunteerism. Great environment and great beer from a very passionate team :)

I had my bridal shower this past weekend at Volunteer Brewing Co.. My fiancé and I frequently visit here and we love it so much! Davis, our bartender, made it such a seemless experience and we had such an amazing time! I will recommend anyone hosting a small event to use this venue.
