Economy Inn

When coming back home to Taylorville I always choose this motel. It’s been in the same location for as long as I can remember. The new owners are making so many improvements to new beds, flooring, curtains, furniture. Our room was extremely clean and was supplied with extra towels. I will continue to stay here for as long as I come visit.

Very clean and neat old-fashioned roadside motel. Welcoming, friendly owner. I just had a one night stop over on my backpacking pilgrimage after some rain the night before. Great little place, still furnished with original finishes; has a cool Route 66 vibe and very reasonable rates

Was in town for a while for work and needed a cheap no frills place to lay my head. So glad we found the Economy Inn. If you're looking for major amenities or updated decor , skip this place. But if you are looking for a clean, comfy place to crash I highly recommend this place. The guy who runs this place, can't remember his name, is great. He goes above and beyond to ensure a great stay. Like I said..... its not fancy... its homey and in a great location! Clean, friendly staff, and price point was excellent!

Nice and clean! We were just an overnight stay while visiting my family nearby. Called on our way and they were very accommodating. Let us check in early and drop our stuff off. He even offered cold water ( at no cost). The room was very clean, carpeting in great condition, windows that could open to let fresh air in. Was a great choice for us traveling through the area.

We were very pleased with our stay here. We were in town for a family funeral.
The room was a little dated but very clean and comfortable. The beds were a little to firm for my liking but most people like a good firm mattress.
The owner was really friendly and called our room a few minutes after we got in to see if everything was ok and to our liking and told us to call if we needed anything at all.
We would definitely stay here again.

Nice little cozy place , we went to tail gate tall boys in 2022 the owners were super nice . They even mad us some Indian food . We will definitely be back

The staff was amazing!! We checked in as a last minute thing and they were so welcoming. The manager took us right to our room and the lady that keeps the rooms clean welcomed us. A few minutes later she brought each of us an ice cold bottle of water to help us settle in. We stayed that night and packed up the next morning. I went to the front desk to check out and I asked for some ice. The manager was out but he offered to go out in a rainstorm to get more!! We left that morning rested and our cooler was ready for our long drive ahead. You will not find a more hospitable place to stay!! They take very good care of their guests!! I highly recommend this motel!

Got here after a very long drive the room was ice cold with ac on a very humid evening. 2 beds small refrigerator and microwave. Flat screen tv and everything was clean which was a nice surprise because of previous reviews. If staying in taylorville definitely recommend this place. Beds are decent too as I'm laying in it writing this review.

I'm rating this motel 5 stars based on my experience with a few other hotels located in this area. I stayed a week here while visiting family in this area. This motel has very clean rooms, and the beds are very comfortable. My sister-in-laws and I had the room with three beds. The room was very spacious - large enough to set up a folding table and chairs. There was a decent sized travel refrigerator/freezer in our room. The bedding/towels/curtains/shower curtain looked new and in excellent condition. The owner of the motel was extremely friendly and accommodating. If we had questions, or if we needed anything, he was quick to help. I would definitely recommend this motel over any other motel/hotel in a 20 mile radius. We will be staying here the next time we are in the area.

Like a beautiful pebble on a beach of the same old uninteresting rocks, this hidden gem is a wonderful independent motel built in the hay day of transportation. It is reminiscent of those motels of the 50's, but has kept up with the times, unlike some other motels of it's era.
Nick, the owner has been pleasing travelers for almost 30 years at this family owned and operated location. His caring for his guest's needs is his priority, and drives his passion to make them as comfortable as possible.
Attention to detail and thinking outside the box can be seen in some of the ways he has updated this piece of Americana. Each bathroom has brand new floor tile and ergonomic toilets, along with a microwave and fridge in the room. He offers a variety of beds with different levels of comfort to help accommodate his guest's sleeping needs.
For those with larger families or groups, he has larger rooms with multiple beds. This keeps people from being separated and saves on multiple rooms.
In addition to all this, the rooms are clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This might not sound like much, but in my stays in motels lately, and with what you see on the news about unclean motel rooms, bed bugs, etc. This place is a breath of fresh air (along with a pleasant fragrance ).
I would invite you to stay. It is a wonderful place and Nick and his family would love to have you.

Just make sure to leave a room for me, the next time I am in town.

UPDATE 1-29-23. The pebble has been polished and is gleaming. They have updated the rooms and the sign, (Now Economy Inn) but the owners and their hospitality haven't changed at all. I believe that if their ideas for their motel were copied all over the country, this world would be a better place!!!

Cleanest in Taylorville and the most polite and considerate staff. Pet friendly. Clean rooms and even remodeling in progress to update everything. They even offer laundry service for workers that stay. Very quiet place. Just all around very nice place to stay for solo or family.

We moved to this motel after a one night stay at a competitors big name motel,, which was dreadful. The 29 West room was clean, good size, quiet, and had great beds and pillows. Staff displayed a perfect balance of friendliness, respect, interest in delivering good service, and maintaining a quality motel. This is not a luxury 5 star resort, but for a small motel they delivered everything I could ask for, therefore our 5-Star rating. Would definitely stay here again.

Great staff and excellent rooms for a phenomenal price! Very clean and well kept throughout our entire stay. The mattresses were extremely comfortable as well. Definitely one of the top places to stay in the area.

The staff was very professional and kind. They made our beds and brought fresh towels everyday. The rooms are very clean. Hands down will he coming back. Thank you guys for your hospitality.

We have stayed here many times over the past 30 years. The owners have been the same people the entire time and they are VERY friendly and helpful. Although the property is older, it is always well maintained, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.

My wife and I stayed for a week while visiting family. The owners and staff are kind and helpful. If we ever needed anything or had an issue it was addressed immediately and with a smile. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip out. Weekly rates price was very fair

This is a small, family-run motel in a convenient location to the little towns we visit in Central Illinois. The rooms were very neat and clean. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. We stay here whenever we are visiting relatives in the area. Would recommend.

Clean, friendly owners & staff as well as extremely attentive to guests needs ! We were in area for tailgates & tallboys & decided to book this motel after watching reviews for cpl weeks & couldnt have made a better choice. We traveled from Vermont.Thanks for having us Deep & Angie.
