El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant

My new favorite Mexican restaurant. So far I love everything I've ordered here. They even made a dish. Of grilled jalapenos for me which was not on their menu.

I was skeptical of coming here because of a terrible experience I had at another location but this location was a total 180. We were seated quickly, our food came out ridiculously fast it was hot and very delicious. We got some half priced margaritas that were exceptional even though the price didn’t seem very half offish. Nonetheless it was exactly what you would expect being at a Mexican restaurant. Looking forward for a reason to go back !

We had not been to this location yet but we figured it was worth a visit. The restaurant has a cool vibe - neat decor and the feeling of it being clean. The chips and salsa were good. A wonderfully friendly & attentive staff. The Happy Hour Margarita Pitcher is a great and delicious value. Their shrimp tacos are the best I've had outside Texas and Florida.
The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars, is the volume is a bit much for me when the restaurant is full or nearly full. That may not be an issue for most people.
I have patronized El Vaquero since they opened their first operation on Riverside Dr. 30+ years ago. Their quality is consistently exceptional. 💋💋

The salsa and tortillas that are given to you as soon as they seat you, are phenomenal!!
Everything we got was wonderful and the staff are extremely friendly.
When we are in the area again we will be back

I’ve eaten at a LOT of Mexican restaurants in my life but this place kills it every single time. Super fast, food is always good, servers crush it. Literally the best one I’ve ever ate at. Arianna was our server and we were never low on anything.

Yummo and WOW 💕 they were slammed on Sunday the hostess informed me " yes there is alot of tables empty but not enough waiters so if we wouldn't mind waiting"

Great spot for a fast lunch! They have $4.99 lunch margaritas which seemed like a good deal. The kids meals were a good amount of food for the price too.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the food at this establishment, however, I must address a concerning issue regarding the treatment of solo female patrons. During my recent visit, I experienced a lack of respect and discomfort from the waiter. As I inquired about the menu, the waiter approached me inappropriately close with a suggestive smile, making me feel uneasy. It is disheartening that women dining alone are subjected to such behavior and feel the need to pretend to be occupied on their phones to avoid unwanted attention.

I believe it is crucial for men to recognize that women have the right to dine out independently and deserve to be treated with the same level of respect as any other customer. It is disappointing to witness a difference in treatment between male and female solo diners, as evidenced by the contrasting experiences of myself and a nearby male patron.

While I do plan to revisit this establishment, I feel compelled to do so only in the company of my boyfriend for added comfort and security. It is my hope that establishments like this will work towards creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for all patrons, regardless of their gender.

Fun, busy and folks waiting in line for some good Mexican food! It was delicious, served fairly quickly with a restaurant full of hungry people! Always good here.

I have come to love this restaurant so much. Its my fave!!! Celebrating a milestone with Carnitas taco w/chili verde & mango & pineapple sauce, carne asada hard shell taco w/ extra cheese & my fave cheese enchiladas!!!

By far some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. This place is a hidden gem. The menu is huge, lots of variety. Reasonably priced . Good staff!

Even though crowded, I was seated in a decent amount of time in a nice seat. The service was quick & impeccable. I ordered a lg Grand Mariner frozen margarita 😋 🍹& tried something new, the Molcajete Ranchero. It came in a huge sizzling bowl with beans, rice, lettuce, guacamole & pico de gallo. Absolutely delicious! A must try if you're adventurous. A mix of grilled shrimp, steak, chicken, sausage, peppers, onions & squash in a red sauce with cheese. They've stepped up & I'm impressed. Definitely will return.

My wife and I love El Vaquero. I mean who wouldn't? They have a sweet grandma or elderly person who delivers you chips. My wife loves the cheese dip for the table. I enjoy my healthier go to option being the Guadalajara Salad. My favorite though is the El Vaquero Tacos which I recommend the tacos de chorizo, tacos al pastor, tacos de barbacoa de res and tacos de pescado. Come hungry or be prepared to walk home with a meal for later to take home.

My favorite Mexican spot, el vaquero Gahanna is the best vaquero hands down. They're always fresh with their food packed with flavor, their carnitas nachos and quesabirria tacos are to die for. I've tried different menu items and have never been disappointed, the cocktails are welp prepated and of course the margaritas are my favorite from all of Columbus, on the rocks or frozen they're delightful. The staff is always amazing and it's just always a good time when I come here, I try not to go too much to save my gut but most times it's irresistible 🤤

El Vaquero was FANTASTIC. Real/authentic Mexican food. Ordered the Enchiladas Cazerola (3 enchilada on the specialty page) and the cheese one is the best I have ever had. Also ordered the grilled chicken, it was some of the most flavorful and juiciest I’ve ever had. 4.3 stars is criminal for this place, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the state.
