Happened upon this place by accident on a trip to Essex from Hartford area. So glad to find this gem because I'll definitely be going back! We just did a walk through, but already have in mind things I want to try the next time I get back there. So many unique items to see, fresh bread, fresh flowers, great refrigerated and frozen prepared food options. There were several different salads to choose from rotisserie chicken. There was a section where you could order food and sandwiches to go. The bakery items looked delicious! So much more as well! As I said so many great things! The staff was really friendly as well! Can't wait to get back there to try some things! Wish them all the best, they deserve it! Cool place!

"Good things come to those who wait"! Cooked is a welcome addition to the bustling food community in Essex. It’s like an indoor farmer’s market with an upscale vibe. Lots of locally sourced goods delightfully displayed. Kudos for the salads and soups served in compostable paper containers. After several visits, we’ve enjoyed most of the baked goods, some chocolates, Granola Butter, and a delicious side of curried cauliflower to embellish a busy weeknight dinner. If you’re gifting a foodie, you’ll also find non-food items for the kitchen. Easy in and out parking is on the side, rather than in front. There is one handicapped parking space in front next to the ramp leading to the entrance. The aisles are wide enough for a wheelchair or walker. There’s usually someone available for assistance with items on higher shelves. If you’re on a budget, check out the “day-old” bread shelves starting on Thursdays for some great deals (they freeze well too!). Nice staff and friendly service. Looking forward to trying some of the frozen entrees and enjoying more items as the seasons change!

Love this place! So glad that it opened. The quality of the food is immaculate. It's like David Rose opened a food store down the street!

Great for sandwiches, dinner, salad, smoothies - and you've got to get the banana pudding!! :p

What i love about this store is that they really seem to care about having quality ingredients. Most things are made without seed oils which I really appreciate. The bread is organic flour, the banana pudding (out of this world btw) is made with real cream no cool whip or something cheap. There are few options like this so it is really a benefit to have in the community. Keep up the good work!

We cook at home a lot and buy are foods from farmers markets mostly and yes we are fussy people. We are very pleased with the prepared foods, fantastic breads, baked goodies, juices, one person soups and stunning flower arrangements from Cooked.
The owners are local hard working women and I love supporting them!! Yummy stuff.

Cooked Marketplace is a new neighborhood classic. They carry a vast assortment of frozen prepared of meals to go as well as a select sandwich menu, numerous prepped entrees, and delicious and creative sides. Pastas too!

For the sweet seeker, they have beautiful desserts & pastries, artisanal chocolate products, and tons of cool candies I’ve never before seen. Not to mention, ice cream.

The atmosphere is clean, upscale, and inviting. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

We had the spinach lasagna and chicken parmigiana and both were amazing with great flavor. The spinach lasagna was large enough to stretch into two meals. Cooked is a must try!

I love the food, the service and the place. Everyone should try the banana pudding, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life. 10/10!!!!

Absolutely has exceeded our expectations! Wonderful prepared foods and the bakery items are top notch. It’s so exciting to have this spot in our neighborhood now. 10/10 recommend!

The Almond croissants are absolutely amazing. Great variety of products. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So happy to have this addition to Essex.
