Deep River Ice

Very good Italian ice, probably some of the best I’ve ever had. This place is a 10/10. I recommend this as a nice little refreshment if you want to enjoy a nice dessert.

Deep River Ice came to Hale-Ray high school for Teacher Appreciation day. They were extremely generous in offering multiple flavors and many scoops of deliciousness. The ice cream was delicious and our entire staff walked away with a smile on their faces and full bellies.

Excellent ice cream and Italian ice shop. The owners go out of their way to make your visit special. They offer Gifford's Ice Cream, have a mobile unit and do event catering as well.

I NEED A FAVOR and ONLY YOU my faithful followers can help me right a wrong! We have 10 days to desend upon Deep River Ice to let them know we will see they next year! Growing up in Hartford's Southend I was brought up on REAL ITALIAN ICE. Not some frozen ice in a cup you need a pick to eat or some chipped ice with sugary sweet syrup ; I mean smooth, melt in your mouth, flavorful Italian Ice. With close to 25 Italian Ice flavors well you can go there every night for a month and never get bored! try 1, 2, 3 scoops OR bring a Pint or Quart Home!

The Ice Cream is Giffords and with a rotating 15 flavors well have at it! Oh they have DAIRY FREE, SUGAR FREE, PLANT-BASED, COCONUT-BASED, and NON-FAT no one is left out, so bring the whole family. Real Milk Shakes, Root Beer Floats, and assorted Sundaes what more could you want!

The store is impeccably clean, bright and plenty of seats for this type of shop! Ok back to Chelsea and Dave - they walk by the vacant store, decide its a great place to serve the community and they have been open for a few months. Now I understand they will be closing Oct 17th - so we have two choices 1. Lets help them reduce their delicious stock OR 2. Get them to stay open a few more weeks!! (sorry U2!!).

Regardless of when they close this year - we need to welcome them back next year in a big way! and why not? When you find the perfect place, count your blessings and indulge! LINE UP!

What a great place! My wife and I visited after a long day at the Chester Dog Fair (would recommend) and where looking for some ice cold refreshment. When we walked in the owners lit up the place with their welcoming smiles and greeting. While my wife went for the classic hot fudge sundae, I tried their Italian Ice flavors, sour patch kids and Swedish Fish. The hidden bites of candy were a welcomed surprise. Come in for a visit...Dog welcome, btw!

The best ice cream shop in town and the best owners! This is my go to place to get ice cream. The atmosphere here is amazing and brings the entire town together! They deserve more than 5 stars!

Awesome! Seriously the best Italian ice I've eaten. So many flavors, perfectly blended. I suggest sampling a few before committing. If you're not in the mood for Italian ice, they have plenty of ice cream, Sundays, banana split and even dairy free/vegan options. Such a good vibe in this place the last two times I was there it was so relaxing I hung out for over an hour. The owners are very friendly and make everyone feel at home. Watching them interact with their customers, eager to please and with big welcoming smiles. Always on my list to visit when I'm in CT.

Not only do they serve Giffords Ice Cream (the best), the store owners are amazing! They offers us lots of free samples and the prices are unbelievably cheap! Best at ice cream shop on the shoreline by far. They have amazing Italian ice as well. Highly recommend the Peanut Butter Pie Shake! THIS IS A MUST TRY, great spot for the family

So many italian ice flavors and ice cream is great. Owners were friendly and helpful with choosing flavors. Was only in town for the weekend but if I lived near this place I would go all the time.

Best local stop for all things sweet, amazing selection of locally made ice cream and Italian ice. Their menu has time tested classics like lemon and cherry ice while also serving unique menu options like Swedish fish and Sour patch kids Italian ice. Great spot for a family outing, date or just to get some great treats.

Great little ice cream / Italian ice shop. I ordered passionfruit Italian ice and it was smooth and flavorful. Others ordered cannoli ice cream, Maine blueberry ice cream (which were also tasty) and 2 pup cups for our dogs. The owner was friendly and very nice.

Great selection of Italian ice, nice owners. I love that they have dairy free ice cream, plus fro yo, soft serve, etc.
