Alll downhill, then allll uphill. Don’t go if you don’t have great knees. Not crowded at all. Water along the way. Just very low because of the current drought. I’d go back if there was more rain/water on the falls.

Hike was perfect for an active family!! Going back is harder, due to the fact it is a constant incline for about a mile. Make sure to look out for snakes we saw 4 along the way.
Also, feel the water, it is so cold and soothing!!

This was the first waterfall of our tour. Beautiful scenery, loved the birds and background noise. Started to hear the water about 15 minutes into the hike. There are several off beaten paths for great photos.
First waterfall about 35 minutes and second one about 65 to 70 minutes into the hike.
It was definitely a moderate hike pending how often you exercise and walk/hike.
Its about a 3 mile hike -1.5 down and 1.5 up.

We hiked the Doyle's River and Jones River Loop. The loop was about 9 miles from start to finish. All the waterfalls are so beautiful.

One of my favorites in Shenandoah. SO stunning with the waterfalls and walking along the river. We went when it was foggy and it was still so pretty. You can do roughly a 3+ mile or a 7+ mile hike (one way), depending on how you feel that day and your experience. The path is easier than some others in the park, but be prepared for an up and down trek. It’s less crowded during the week. I recommend going then because it’s a small parking lot and it gets full fast on the weekends. Also, definitely wear hiking boots or at least a really good pair of sneakers because it can get slippery if you get close to the water (you do have to cross the river once or twice).

Great hike from the brown's gap parking area! The trail was a little challenging but the waterfalls were worth it! We even saw some other interesting things along the way. About a 3 mile in and 3 mile out hike.

Challenging trail but well worth it! Did point to point (both Upper and Lower Doyles) loved the waterfalls and spent hours exploring. Appreciated the fresh, cold water spring to refill my water close to the Doyles parking lot.

Great hike, a little strenuous for novice hikers but definitely recommend if you’re looking for a slight challenge! Really great waterfall makes the hike worth it!

Completed the loop in about 4-4.5 hours. Stopped for picnic lunch at the big waterfall. Highly recommend this hike! Make sure to bring extra water and big spray.

Really nice hike down to the falls.. You can make it a loop hike and hike up Jones Run Trail and return on the Appalichian Trail.

Great hike! Downward decline all the way to the falls then hike uphill to get back. It kicked my butt however it was a great workout and the falls are beautiful.

Gets slippery towards the lower falls. There's an out and back loop and then a trail that's a loop that's triple the length.

We hiked the Jones Run/Doyle's River Fall Loop this past weekend and enjoyed it thoroughly. Parking at the Doyle's River trail head was ample when arriving at around 10am. The trail was well marked and mostly clear. The hike did not dissappoint. The first half of the hike you are hiking alongside the river. The waterfalls along the way are beautiful and roaring with all of the rain we've had recently. There are several areas to relax, eat lunch/have a snack, and just appreciate the tranquil scenery. Highly recommended if you are up to a 7.6 mile trek.

This was a great day outdoors. The hike was beautiful. Water was low but the falls were exactly what I needed ❤

Great trail, big payoff at the waterfalls. The 0.3 miles between upper and lower falls is rather steep. Give yourself plenty of time to reach the top. The full loop would make a great full day family hike.

Fun trail with plenty of ups and downs to give you a good workout. The trail has a natural spring and a couple of water falls along its path. Beautiful scenery and there are plenty of spots along the river to just sit on a rock and enjoy the sound of the water and the wind ruffling the leaves.
