Hein Apple Stand always has the best family atmosphere & Betty is a gem. We actually shop there because it's so nice to converse with Betty. The apples, pickled beets & favorable pricing are what draw us to Hein. They always have many tasty, assorted flavors of apples.

I have grown up going to the Hein Apple Stand in La Crescent with my parents and I always bring my kids. It always has a good variety of apples including my favorite, the tart Haralson apple. Something I hope can continue into the future.

My first apple stand experience in La Crescent, and it was fantastic! Super friendly and helpful owner, even though it was quite a busy time. Lots of selection, and I don't know if I've ever tasted fresher raspberries. So glad I stopped. If you are in the area, be sure to drop by to see what selection of local apples are in season.

Every fall I have to stop at least once. I always buy the same things. Apple turnovers and a caramel apple with nuts. I'd stop more often or buy more stuff but I have diabetes so I TRY to stay away from the sweets but once in awhile I just gotta treat myself. I'm thinking I just might have to stop again on Sunday on my way home from La Crosse and get some more turnovers. Me, the cat and dog shared both turnovers today. They were both mad at me when they were all gone. I remember them being very good in previous years but this year they were totally awesome.

Very friendly - my favorite of all the stands along the highway. I’ll drive 1 1/2 hours each way just to get their River Belles! But all their stock is great!

There were so many yummy items. It was hard to make up my mind. I left with a piece of maple sugar candy, a caramel apple, and a bag of McIntosh apples. Located in the capital of Minnesota Apple country. Very nice people as well.
