Mom and pop place. Reasonably priced, good service and delicious southern food.

Umpa's has to be one of the best kept secrets in the area. The structure is located in an area recessed from the main thoroufare (SR3 in Merritt Island) and not readily visible from the street. Unless one is specifically looking for the building or see the sign, one most likely drive by. Although the place is not what many people class as "fancy," the food is really good and service is excellent. The staff takes extreme care there is no food cross-contamination, as my wife has severe allergies to animal protein, and very courteous and understanding of the intolerance. The premises and bathrooms are very clean and very good family atmosphere. Thank you, Sam.

Finally stop by after living in the area for few years. Definitely old school kind of a dinner. We had the Umpa’s & Veggies Omelette was Real tasty, food fairly price & friendly staff. Glad we stop by & Will be back for sure!

UMPAS has been around for a long time, and the food remains amazing as always. On the morning I visited I got 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, side of bacon, side of home fries with onion and a small bowl of sausage gravy. Everything was hot, delicious, and just super tasty. My friend got a sausage/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin, and she stated it was delicious 😋
If you're local, then you already know....if you're here on vacation, you should visit....you won't be disappointed 😉

I have ate at every breakfast establishment in Merritt island to cocoa beach and this place is hands down the best. I have never had a bad meal and service is always superior. Sam the owner always walks around and greets his customers and makes the atmosphere personal. My breakfast favorite is eggs Benedict and his is the best.

I was totally impressed with this breakfast and the very low cost.
I noticed all the veteran photos on the walls and was told that they give a discount to veterans.
The staff was very friendly and the place had a nice crowd. I was watching plates being served to the customers and everything looked appealing to the eye.
I ordered the three meat breakfast with home fries, over easy eggs, rye toast and .
coffee.
As usual, I always take the top off the pepper because the holes on top of the pepper shakers are never big enough to dispense the pepper.
I was pleasantly surprised on the medium course of the fresh looking pepper and coated my over easy eggs.
My breakfast arrived and was very impressed with the way it looked.
It was awesome in taste and they did not have to wash the plate after I was done.
I think I will just go there for breakfast from now on and leave the cooking to these fine folks. I am a fairly decent cook myself but how can you not eat here with the low prices.
I can't wait to try thr catfish sandwich that is on the menu. I haven't had one of them in ages and look forward to trying that soon.
They are open from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. so need to stop by for breakfast or lunch if you're planning to stop by this wonderful place. You will not be disappointed.
I want to thank the cook I talked to the other day for letting me know about this place. I live right across the street and glad I stopped in.

With an aura of utmost respect for our veterans and an attitude of service, Umpa's Diner fulfills the general need of feeling right at home while enjoying a meal. With delicious food at the ready, this diner seems to be a flash to the past, where food and soul are at the heart of this establishment. I truly appreciate the amazing service and will be back!

It was our first time there, near closing time, the food was terrific!!! Our server was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. We will definitely be going back, great prices too!!!

This was a great start to our day here in Merritt Island. The diner has a focus on good old fashioned homestyle cooking. Everything my party ordered was great, which is why we were not bashful with showing our receipt! Definitely had a lot of veterans there abd clearly were regulars. Great to hear them talking about their time in the service during the meal. If you enjoy real homestyle breakfast, and don't mind from the veterans, you'll be in for a treat at Umpa's Diner!

Simple delicious food. I can vouch for the clam chowder soup, grilled cheese, biscuits & gravy, and their coffee. Been twice and yet to be disappointed by food or staff. All on top of great prices.

Great little gem with a variety of breakfast foods to choose from. The staff were friendly and not territorial. All the wait staff helped out.

Couldn’t be happier with the super engaging and friendly service! We love the patriotic themed interior and their dedication to veterans and first responders. The chefs made the food to order and it all came out perfectly. Also, prices are on point (I.e., super affordable). Highly recommend this great establishment for breakfast or lunch. Looking forward to our next visit soon.

Very friendly staff and when I say very I mean it. The owner came over and said hello, he even made a baby pancake for my daughter. Food is delicious. We walked in and saw a bunch of older folks and we weren’t sure what we got ourselves into but we ended up very happy.

We walked in and realized it was almost closing time. We went to leave, but they welcomed us in with open arms. Everyone there was awesome and the food was pretty good too!!
