Sonny's BBQ

I can be pretty fussy about BBQ food but my mom recommended we go here for lunch. We got the sampler so we could do a little bit of everything and also got fried okra (because I LOVE fried okra) and the corn nuggets.

Everything was delicious and nothing was disappointing. The brisket paired perfectly with the original BBQ sauce (okay, well, everything went well with the original BBQ sauce). The beans were tasty, not too sweet, not too smoky. The Mac and cheese was tasty and cooked perfectly (not mushy and lacking flavor like most places). The garlic bread was a definite plus.

The corn nuggets are delicious and carne to the table SUPER fresh and hot, as did the okra which was perfectly executed and not slimy inside like so many places manage by over cooking it. I was in okra heaven.

I'd definitely eat here again and Zane, our server, was polite, responsive, and very helpful with recommendations and answering questions.

Omg! The ribs were delicious! I was craving the ribs so bad that THIS hit the spot! We are from out of state and we were worried we weren’t going to enjoy our meal since there wasn’t a-lot of bbq options in town. We were proven wrong. I highly recommend this place if you are craving some bbq.

My wife and I were on our family vacation and we got a night away. We chose to go to Sonny’s, which came highly recommended- and we were excited that it lived up to the reviews! Our waitress Elle (maybe Ella) was charming and pleasant. Very attentive to our needs and overall quite wonderful!!
We ordered a sampler - and totally understand why it is a favorite!! Tender meats - magnificently smoked - and options for multiple original house recipe BBQ sauce! Our taste buds were dazzled and we left, adding this to a favorites list for when we return!!

Server was friendly, quick, and attentive! Place was spacious and clean. Food were huge and delicious! Come here if you’re craving bbq and wanna pig out! Love their family meal. Please add more cheese on the loaded Tater Tots! Everything’s tasty!

Ava took care of us and was awesome! My favorite part of the dinner was the pulled pork egg rolls.

I eat it once a week !!! Comes with 3 meat choices, two sides and a garlic bread !!! Amazing !!!!! Pulled pork is so good !!! Ribs !!!! Just wow !!! Baked beans !!! Just good cookin' !!! They have a drive through in case you don't wanna get out the car !! So worth it !!!

Food was fantastic. Atmosphere is exactly what I want from a BBQ joint. Slightly rustic but not overbearing. Service was excellent. Recommend the brisket grilled cheese. Great balance of flavors. Not as unreasonably priced as some other BBQ places I've been but not cheap.

Great pulled pork, baked beans and slaw. Always a great go to place for delicious Barbecue. The fries were cold and I had to get another one brought out. The portions were great as well.
The wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

Oh my new Emma was a fantastic server. She took care of all of our needs during lunch. The food was perfect in service and the service was outstanding.

I usually come to Sonny’s for ribs, I switched it up this time and ordered the dry rub chicken wings fried crispy. Glad I tried something different because they were awesome. Miles was our waiter he was awesome, checked on us making sure everything was alright, refilled our drinks as needed, very courteous and polite. Thanks Miles Great job!!!!

My son had a sweet carolina sandwich on garlic toast, and I had a pulled pork sandwich. Both were great. We chased them down with lemonade that had great flavor without being overly sweet. The waitress was a gem.

Birthday celebration with the fam. Waitress Stephanie was great, there was no wait when we walked in . Service was prompt . Food was excellent as Sonny's food is . What I had, the big deal . Sandwich and two sides was more than enough for me , youngest had all you can eat turkey with two sides , oldest had brisket dinner with two sides . Fun was had by all , they came out singing happy birthday with banana pudding which they are famous for(understandably so if you kno anything about southern cooking) Redneck Egg Rolls were ah-mazing as usual, the BEST coleslaw.

Jackson, our server, MADE this experience good. He was kind, helpful when it came to making the best choice and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu.
We have a few dietary restrictions and it can be a bit frustrating for servers, we know that, but Jackson was so kind and understanding in helping us out.
If you’re coming to Sonny’s BBQ, ask for Jackson to serve you. You won’t be disappointed!

We put a late night order in for 6 people at 9:45 and they closed at 10pm. After a hangry family car ride from the beach we picked up all of our food less than 10 minutes later. The chef/kitchen staff let us know they were out of Brisket and made some quick substitutions for other things.

The food was phenomenal, portion sizes were large and our whole car raved about what we had and how good it was.

Thank you guys for accommodating us tonight, we will look you up again when we are back in town!

Food always tasty and large portions. All servers are great and very attentive. I have always found this restaurant clean even when very crowded.

I loved this Sonny's more than the one in St. Petersburg! Extra friendly & courteous staff. And the food was AMAZING!! Those ribs, even without ant sauce were juicy, succulent, & flavorful!!

dined in tonight, our server was jackson!! he was super kind and attentive. i had a few questions and he answered without hesitation, very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu.
he’s also not bad on the eyes ;) ask for jackson next time you dine in, you won’t regret it !!

Terrific BBQ here in Florida. Ribs, brisket and pulled pork were all very good. Nice selection of sauces to try on the table. Iced tea was really good. Cole slaw was a bit bland.
