Qwavyious, Manny, and Tylor helped me out today and they were all great and go me out of there quickly. They did a DOT inspection on my tractor for me. They also changed a taillight on my trailer as well.

Good people. Willie and James were cool. Very nice. Good service. Unfortunately it's rare to be treated kindly at a mechanic shop. But these guys were a breath of fresh air.
Thank You

Part 2
Now, here are the questions:
1. How far can human degradation and greed go? How complicated was this operation to bill $140 per hour? As you can see, it has no limits...
2. What does the manager of the Speedco station think about this situation? Were the employees taught/educated to rob and humiliate customers in this manner? Is this how Speedco makes money in 2024?
3. Is Mr. Hughes considered a model employee because he brings profit to the company? In this way? Through legally sanctioned theft? Does he receive a bonus for this?

I would like to mention that if I had been charged a modest and fair amount, this complaint would not exist. But Mr. Hughes opened Pandora's box, and from this moment, I am unstoppable in what will follow. We all work for money. But we work fairly and with decency. Not like this...

I await an ASAP response from management. If it is the correct one, I will delete this review. If not, I will tell you what I will do next...

I am writing this review/complaint with sadness regarding my experience on Saturday, May 25, at Speedco in Sandersville, MS. It will be lengthy, and I will address the aspects of human quality, empathy, and, of course, money in chronological order. Please draw your own conclusions. Let's begin:
I was heading north on Highway 59, coming from Louisiana. My right headlight was burnt out, and I couldn't remove it because I didn't have the proper screwdriver. Knowing I would be driving into the night, I needed to find a solution to fix this problem. I checked the map and found this Speedco in Sandersville, MS, as the first place where I could ask for help. I exited the highway and parked right next to the building. I went inside, and at the front desk was Mr. Taylor Hughes (this name appears on the invoice). After briefly explaining the situation, I asked him if he could help me with a screwdriver to remove the four screws holding the right headlight. He kindly said yes and quickly brought a screwdriver. I greatly appreciated the gesture and thanked him, telling him that my car was right next to the building and that I would return the screwdriver in a few minutes. I quickly realized I wouldn't be able to remove the screws because they were stuck. I managed to remove 1 out of 4. The other three remained.
I returned to the front desk and told him I had only managed to remove one screw, that the others 3 were stuck, and that I would need an electric screwdriver because it has more torque. He said, "Sure, hold on." He quickly returned with an electric screwdriver but… but… he had it on his belt. He didn't give it to me. He sat down at the computer and started asking for my vehicle number, phone number, and other details. I was quickly identified because the company I work for has an account with Love's/Speedco and does maintenance on many vehicles, so it is a regular customer.
After this stage, he came outside with me to where my car was parked, and in less than one minute, he removed the remaining three screws. I thanked him, and then he asked me to open the driver's door and began noting the vehicle's details, mileage, etc. That's when I realized things were getting somewhat serious and that I would probably have to pay something. Initially, I thought the help was over, but Mr. Hughes stood next to me insistently like a bodyguard to make sure I didn't run away. I looked at him and told him I would go inside with him. The way he was guarding me made me feel uncomfortable.
Inside at the front desk, Mr. Hughes pressed a few keys on the computer and innocently told me that I owed $128... I was simply stunned. I politely told him that this amount seemed absurd and insulting for help with a screwdriver that took a few dozen seconds to remove three small screws (attached image). His response was that it would have cost me even more if I had gone elsewhere. I continued to politely protest, reminding him that the entire process took less than a minute and asked if he could find a fair solution because I am not wealthy, and this amount represents food for six days for me... Seemingly understanding the situation and in his magnanimity, he gave me a "discount," and in the end, I had to pay "only" $80 (invoice attached)... He billed me for half an hour at an hourly rate of $143, while the labor rate at Speedco is between $25-50 per hour...(attached image)
I reasonably reproached him that it was completely indecent not to inform me from the start how much it would cost, and in that case, I would not have needed this "help." I felt humiliated and coerced by Mr. Hughes without any recourse. Of course, I paid this $80 for a service that, as I said, lasted a few dozen seconds. I am sure you, the reader, have experienced something similar at some point. Human decency degrades day by day, and the lack of empathy has completely disappeared. If we didn't protest, it would mean accepting this vile behavior, which only encourages this type of inhumane extortion.

Ran out of gas on the exit ramp right next to the loves and waited 2 hours and called them back and the mechanic said it would be another 2 hours before he can leave the shop. I literally only need enough fuel to drive to the pumps and pump gas. I can walk a few steps and be at the stote. It would literally take a few minutes to put fuel in a truck.

They need to change their name from speedco to slowco this is the worse location you can be at for repair and oil change. I was their at 7pm in night and guy at front desk said we can not help you because we about to close and they close at 10:30 and he said come in morning at 7:00am. I stay there for whole night waiting and they call me 8am and said come park your truck at bay1 from 8:00am to 12:00pm no body come to look at my truck so i have to leave because i have to make delivery at 1. They didn't fix nothing totally time waste avoid this place they’re so lazy and disrespectful.

They are not open as they declare. They are closed at 11 pm. Rude and lazy personnel. I arrived at. 10:30 after PU with the EFS check, and they refused me to change the trailer tire, just to change the tire. Ridiculous.

Didn’t grease drive line. I guess I should have checked before I left, but I thought they knew what they were doing. I called back to tell them. The lady took my number but the manager never called me back.
