Saluda John Fishing Guide

I've been on 4 different guide trips on lake murray. this is by far the best guided trip we have ever had. John is a blast fishing with. he knows the spots and has a lot of good fishing stories. Will definitely use him next time. Thanks John !

Went out with John today with a few family members and left the day with one of the best fishing trips we have had in years! Not only did we limit out on nice stripers, but had a great morning learning and sharing great fishing stories with John. This guy knows what he's doing and is a genuine good guy to spend some hours on the water with. Highly recommend!

My husband purchased a guided fishing tour for my Mother’s Day gift for both of us. We couldn’t have had a better guide than John. He was patient with me as I learned how to reel in these big fighters and we experienced fishing like we had never before tried. He is a people person that keeps you entertained the whole time you are out. We cooked our first batch on the Smokey Joe just like John told us how and they are DELICIOUS!! Thank you, John for making my day a blast! We will be back to try down rigging next!😊

Had a blast fishing with John! My wife and I called him last minute and he worked us in for starters but that’s the tip of the iceberg. John is a true class act! He was punctual, entertaining and knew what he was doing. He made his boat feel like ours and put us on some nice fish! Seeing my wife reel in the biggest fish she’s ever caught was priceless and something I’ll never forget! Outstanding guide. I have fished with guides all over North and Central America and Saluda John is among the very best. It was cold and windy and the fish really didn't want to cooperate . John figured them out and we caught some nice fish. He is personable and my wife and I enjoyed our trip very much. By the way. We are in our 70s and enjoying life to the fullest.

Good experienced guide, and a pleasure to fish with. Went out with John this morning and had a good time we caught a number of nice fish including 3 keepers at the same time.

He has a good setup to fish out with his 24ft center console that was setup to efficiently fish and handled the gusty winds of the day with ease. Also has a good selection of quality rods, reels, and tackle so fishing time was maximized.

When I am the area next I will not hesitate to book another trip with him.

John is an amazing fishing guide!!! This was my first time in over 12 years catching big nice size fish and it only took less than 2 hours!!! John knew where to go and he insured that I had a fun time!!! I will definitely be going again very soon!! Thanks John!!!

As a past owner of several fishing boats, fished in many tournaments both salt and fresh water, I thought my passion surpassed most until I met Saluda John. Not only is his passion for this sport very apparent from the moment you meet him but also his knowledge and expertise is amazingly impressive! While being very professional, his layed back personality makes the trip fun from the moment you step on the boat. And if that isn't enough, he found the fish! The BIG fish! We limited out both days! His knowledge of the lake is absolutely amazing! Before I even got of the boat I booked him again in fear that this new found treasure of a guide would not be available on my next visit. First time going on a striper fishing charter here at lake Murray. Had a blast! Captain John knew all of the good spots and we caught most of our limit really quickly. He taught me a lot of cool tips to use in the future as well. Definitely worth waking up super early.

Capt John was great! We caught a lot of fish and laughed the whole time. A couple dads, a 9yr old, and a 3yr old and Capt John was able to keep everyone engaged/entertained the entire day. Can’t imagine there’s a better guide on the lake.

They call me the Banana on the boat when i go fishing... just bad luck. However, with Capt John we went CATCHING!!! We hit the limlt with no problem. Great time!!! The Skip knows his stuff and just a genuinely nice guy. Cannot wait for the next trip. Highly recommended!!!

My husband, son, nephew and brother in law went out on boat with Saluda John in April, they had a wonderful time, he is very knowledgeable and they caught fish( not as many as they wanted to, but was because of weather not guide) we have him booked again in July, look forward to this. He took the time to answer all of my sons questions and showed him alot.

Capt John makes striper fishing fun. He is very knowledgeable of the lake and will use various tactics to help you catch your limit of fish. I highly recommend booking with Capt John.

Hands down the best. Very well equipped boat, and great guy. We almost had a 5 man limit by 630AM. We will 💯 be back again!
