Cocoa Beach Surf School

Our 8 year old daughter has expressed interest in surfing and we schedule her lessons when we have a free day (so it ends up being with whoever has availability). Today she had her second lesson ever and first with CBSS. She had a great experience, the water was rough, but the instructor was so patient with her. Incredibly pleased with our experience!

Some in our group had been nervous about this but raved about it after. Everyone we interacted with here was great. The surf instructors were great people and super kind. Some in our party were nervous about sharks and it was helpful for them to hear that the instructor had led lessons daily for years with zero negative shark interactions. A good recommendation for the out- of-shape is to save it for the end of the trip so that the soreness of a workout doesn't effect your vacation too much 😆

We did an hour lesson for our family of 4 with the youngest at 11yo. Joe was great. They helped all of us ride some waves! It was the highlight of our trip. Our lesson was at noon and were able to keep our boards for the rest of the day!

Once again, the surf camp fully delivers a fun filled experience for my daughter. She’s on her third year at attending their school, and they have consistently shown professionalism and above and beyond care and consideration. Highly, Highly recommend!

Jeffrey was an outstanding surf instructor for my 16-year-old son! His teaching style was incredibly instructive and patient, making the entire experience both fun and productive. Jeffrey had the perfect balance of professionalism and encouragement, and he got my son confidently surfing right away. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to surfing, and we highly recommend Jeffrey to anyone looking to learn!

My son (16) wanted to try surfing so we booked a one hour lesson. He had a blast and he was able to get up on the board and ride several waves in. The instructors are great and very helpful at explaining safety info as well as surfing techniques. We planned to leave our ID with them to borrow the board for a few more hours after his lesson (which I thought was a great deal), but the weather had other plans. Great way to try out surfing with experienced teachers!

I had an amazing time at Cocoa Beach Surf School! Taylor and Alex were fantastic —so patient, funny, and charming. They made learning to pop up and surf a breeze. 2 days felt too short, I can't wait to come back for more waves and laughs.

Great location. Both of my kids had a great experience catching waves. The instructor was great and very caring and the kids enjoyed themselves while also learning.

We got 2 hour surf lessons for my son (6), nephew (6) and niece (9) for two days and they had a blast. All the instructors were amazing and were able to get all three kids surfing. They made the lessons so fun, were so attentive and always made sure the kids were safe. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn to surf! Thank you for making our kids summers. They have caught the surfing bug.

Scheduled a one hour lesson for my daughter's tenth birthday and she spent the rest of the day surfing! Her instructor was encouraging, fun, and a great teacher. Thank you guys!!🤙

Our family had a wonderful time taking lessons with the Cocoa Beach Surf School! Our children ages 10, 9, & 7 took a 1 hour lesson and the instructors were amazing! The kids loved it and took to surfing quickly. We will definitely be back and will use them again for lessons and rentals.

We got my 15 year old son a one hour surf lesson here and his instructor was Willem. The entire experience beginning to end was amazing. Willem was patient , took the time to explain everything. Super nice guy. Gave my son some confidence. I am very grateful. My son had an awesome time and wants to now surf more. I would recommend Willem and Cocoa Beach Surf Company to anyone. Hugo was amazing! He had my boys up on the board within minutes. Hugo was professional, super polite, encouraging and cheered them on as they progressed. As a bonus, we were allowed to use the boards for several hours after the lesson. We were also able to rent an umbrella and chairs to watch them surf for the remainder of the day. Money well spent! Thank you Hugo, and the Cocoa Beach Surf School.

What a great day! I took a quick 1 hour lesson as a refresher since I have some surfing experience but haven't done it in a few years. Lawrence was awesome and fun to be out in the waves with. He's a great teacher and helped me push myself to get better. I caught a ton of waves and had a blast! Definitely recommend these guys.

I signed up my daughters and a friend (17-19 year olds) for a one hour lesson July 23. Judah the instructor was great, he had them all catching waves right away. Such a fun experience, we will rent boards the next visit. Everyone very helpful and friendly. Easy to book online. Consider buying or bringing a rash guard, from the sun and friction on the board it's hard on the skin.

We travelled over from the UK and originally saw Surfing lessons at Disneys Typhoon Lagoon on their wave machine but for 5 of us this was quite expensive, besides surfing should be in the sea right? So we opted for Cocoa Beach Surf School for a 2 hour surf lesson for 2 middle aged blokes, a 14, 12 & 10 year old which was half the cost of Disney (no surprise there). A very pleasant surprise was to find they provided 2 (amazing) instructors who really looked after us. They also rented chairs for my wife. The instructors were brilliant and supportive and we had an amazing time. They even let us keep the surf boards & chair for the rest of day at no extra cost so we could continue surfing until they closed. So much better than we would have got at Disney

Our family took surf lessons for an hour on Thanksgiving morning. Our youngest was up on the surfboard within a few tries. Our oldest was having a blast and we could barely get him out of the water to go have lunch. I want to thank the pros who showed us the ropes and the surfers who gave us room to play that day! We came back a week later and rented boards for another 1/2 day of fun.

My daughter's, 11yrs and 15yrs, took lessons yesterday and had an absolutely great time! Willem and Zo were AMAZING teachers! My girls said that this was by far their favorite experience of Florida. Better than parasailing and riding horse in the bay (both of which they also really enjoyed) Both Willem and Zo were patient, kind, and super friendly. They had the girls up and surfing right away. And afterwards they each got to use a board to practice on their own for the rest of the day. Make sure you get your practice board after your lesson as their was some conflict with a different employee regarding this which added some stress. Thanks Willem and Zo for a truly memorable experience!!

Had a great lesson for my sons today, all were able to stand up and get surfing within the hour. Louis and Noah were their instructors and they were great, highly recommend!

I cannot say enough good about Cocoa Beach Surf School. Jake is phenomenal not only at how he runs the school, but also about his attitude of keeping surfing FUN! I guess that is what I like the best here…. Emphasis on simply enjoying surfing, not competing with others. They cheer even the smallest accomplishments on. The whole team of instructors are great! They are all doing this out of sheer love for surfing. They have always bent over backwards to accommodate our needs and encourage my daughter in the sport. We have done both private lessons and a week long camp with them. I would highly encourage anyone to choose Cocoa Beach Surf School for experienced and safety oriented instructors, fun surf camps and selection of rentals. 👍🏻
