Dr Campbell has an associate who I cannot recommend. I went there last year and she noticed that my lower eyelashes were growing into my eye and plucked them telling me to come in anytime I needed this done. I have been experiencing a lot of eye problems and finally went to a new optometrist who immediately noticed that my lower eyelids were curving inward causing this. My cornea was scratched badly because of this. Note, he noticed this with his own eyes alone before we even started and then he saw how scratched by eyes were because of it. My lower eyelids were also infected and I had been experiencing light sensitivity for almost a year when I went to Dr Campbells office and was dismissed out of hand while this new one told me that the infection and eyelash issue were likely causing this. Just one day after addressing the infection, beginning eyedrop therapy and having the eyelashes trimmer and plucked, I walked outside without my shades and experienced only mild sensitivity I was told I will be dealing with for the rest of my life because of this. There is surgery to correct my eyelids but most just deal with it for the rest of their lives trimming their eyelashes and plucking them which I intend to do. I would not be writing this negative review save for the fact that this was such an obvious issue that you don't even have to be an optometrist to notice and the permanent damage this has caused as if I had been informed early enough of this issue, it could have been prevented with regular care. In case you are wondering, I have diabetes and neuropathy so I wasn't noticing the pain as bad as my new optometrist said I should have been experiencing. I did inform DR Campbell of my medical condition and he was even checking my eyes for damage that would be caused by my diabetes.

I do not like writing negative reviews or saying bad things about people but if you are dealing with his associate, see another optometrist as she's not well trained or at least she's inexperienced as maybe she did see this problem but for some reason did not inform me other than to say if I need my eyelashes plucked again just come back anytime but I had seen her twice in total and she had to know I was unaware of this issue because Dr Campbell never diagnosed me with lower eyelids curving inward causing this problem which I wasn't experiencing the last time I actually saw him.

I just don't understand how something so obvious could be missed as I tried to blame myself for not noticing and my new optometrist told me that most men don't examine their eyelashes like many women will and some women assume that everyone does this because they've done it from an early age. It seemed like he was sort of trying to make an excuse for her and then I mentioned maybe I could have seen it in the mirror and he told me unless you do this all the time such as because you use airlash thickeners or such, you're not going to have reason nor the practice to notice. He said as more women stopped caring for their lashes or being raised as girls to start doing it, the number of women having these issues also increased.

Unless Dr Campbell addresses this issue and personally works with his associate to help improve either her abilities or her awareness to better inform patients of what's going on with their eyes, I would avoid using her and not being passive about it as I'm the passive type and I knew I was having issues with my eyes for which I put myself totally in her care. She let me down on an extremely obvious issue which my new optometrist informed me I wasn't wrong to be angry or to take this seriously as these types of things can diminish your vision or even contribute to blindness which is the sole reason we go to eye doctors in the first place... to protect and improve our vision.

I did not want to write this review but I feel you need to be informed. I will not be contacting Dr Campbells office with this as I cannot trust them at all now.
