Clipper Inn

We decided to take a long weekend trip in the middle of September to see the thousand islands. We booked at the clipper inn when we arrived, Check-in was easy, efficient, and Mike was super friendly and also helped us with reservations for dinner. The rooms are quaint, clean, and comfortable . The restaurant at the clipper Inn is amazing! Chef Mike prepares amazing food. They have a lovely bar, dining indoors or outdoors. The staff was very friendly and the service was awesome. I highly recommend.

I know absolutely nothing about the hotel. However, I do know that I had what is probably the best coconut shrimp of my life here-- and I've had a lot of coconut shrimp. I was truly not expecting the borderline spiritual experience that was biting into the first coconut shrimp of the evening, but I'm sure glad I got to have it. The salmon and mashed potatoes I had, along with the blackened chicken alfredo my mother had, left us with a very good impression. I haven't been this pleasantly surprised by a dining experience since I had the best chicken breast of my life in an Olive Garden (and I've been to 3 continents). Overall, the food and service were excellent, and I am very glad the folks are Clayton Tours (check them out) gave us this recommendation.

My family and I ate dinner at The Clipper Inn and the overall experience was amazing. We were a rather large party, but our server Emma took great care of us. She was patient, attentive and very friendly. After dinner was over, several of us remarked how that had been the best restaurant experience we'd had in a VERY long time thanks to Emma!

We’ve eaten here many times over the years. Came tonight to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. Fantastic as always! Reasonable prices and the best food in town, in my opinion. Food and service never disappoint. We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here in 2017 as well and they did a great job. Thanks for another beautiful evening!

My husband and I had dinner at Clipper Inn near Clayton, NY.
It is an upscale restaurant and very popular, so reservations are strongly suggested.
The servers were very friendly and efficient.
I ordered a pesto chicken dish which tasted delicious and my husband had the chicken masala which he very much enjoyed.
We shared a piece of key lime pie which was also delicious.
We were very pleased with our meal and will definitely return when we're back in the area.

Delicious with outstanding service! The food was fresh, creative, and served with a smile. I enjoyed the halibut, the blue cheese is yum, and chocolate pate is so creative! This hidden gem is worth the detour. Also, ask for Diane! She is wonderful!

We ate at the restaurant. I got the shrimp scampi and my husband the prime rib. We both loved our meals and left quite full. The waitress was friendly and helpful as well.

Great waitress gave the history of the place and her recommendations were excellent. The wines we ordered matched the entrees perfectly.

The most amazing prime rib I've had in so long and fresh seafood. My boyfriend and I will definitely visit again! The staff was also extremely accommodating!

Great food with fabulous service. You won't leave hungry! Ask for Swaz as your server.

We stopped to have some supper the food was mouth-watering I had grilled pineapple with my meal it was delicious I highly highly recommend this place

We had an awesome dinner at the Clipper! The Smoked chicken and bacon with seasonal veggies and pasta was delicious!! Their French onion soup was over the top! Looking forward to eating there again!!! Service was wonderful!!! Wish I had taken pics!!!

This is our prefered dining spot. Easily some of the best, if not THE best food in Clayton! The staff is great, (Shout out to Shannon and Tricia),the establishment is clean, & the food is well seasoned, hot & fresh. The dessert are home made and decedent. Will definitely be back next year!

We didn't stay here but we ate at the restaurant which was excellent. I would recommend it and we will be back again.

5pm special Thai shrimp curry with a glass of wine early bird special with salad! The price was good but the meal was great. Black rice and julienne pea pods and carrots accompanied the curried shrimp. I was very surprised. Service was great as well. Thank you!
