Kingston's Steakhouse

I travel to Cedar Rapids once or twice per quarter on business. Each time I’ll come here for dinner. It’s a no frills steakhouse. The service is great whether you’re seated at the bar or at a table. They have a great drink selection. I really enjoy how they cook/prepare the steaks. I’m not usually a fan of getting steaks out as I would prefer to grill myself, but this is one of the exceptions. Oh, and the bread with the flight of different butters is awesome. One of my favorite parts of coming to Kingstons.

A beautiful place for your special occasion! Everyone there is amazing! A 5 star experience all the way through! And the food is wonderful!

Nice restaurant with good food and good service. The decor is nothing spectacular but it’s very nice. Not noisy like some restaurants so great place to have dinner and good conversation.

We went to Kingston Steakhouse for the first time on our anniversary a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. Excellent service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. We loved the "butter flight" that came before our entrée with a small loaf of crusty bread and 4 types of delicious homemade butter. Our drinks were freshly made to order, and our steaks were cooked perfectly. The only regret was that we didn't save enough room for dessert. Next time we will for sure! We have only been eaten here once so far, but I think this may be my new favorite steakhouse in the CR area. Will be back soon!

Let me start by saying I live near Seattle and have eaten at Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, and other high end steak houses in the Seattle area. I know steak and for the price, this place is astounding. It is a great value for the money and the beef is above the standard that I get locally in Seattle. I was pleased with the final bill and very satisfied with the meal. Our server tonight was very very attentive, quick, professional, and took very good care of us. It was a wonderful evening and I look forward to coming back soon.

The other part I would add (that has no bearing on the rating) is I would standardize the dress of the waitstaff and staff. The hostess looked her young age in her trendy pants. I would have cooked the Brussels sprouts a bit longer and put a char on them.

I would serve bowls of that butter with the bread. Amazing.

My husband and I popped in here one afternoon while out and about. I was very pleasantly surprised! The steak was by far the best I've had since moving to this area - all of the food was phenomenal. The serve was fantastic, too! We'll definitely be heading back. We did have an appetizer, our meals, two dessert, and a few drinks.

Had a family gathering at the Kingston steakhouses for a group of us. Went there on a Saturday morning as they opened at 11am. Quiet place which allowed is to have a lively discussion. The waitress quickly got us beverages and then came back to tqke everyones order. The food was served with no issues or complaints about what everyone ordered. Note that they have pepsi products if you are ordering carbonated beverages. They have 24 types of beers available as well as a long list of alcoholic mixed drinks.

The food was pretty good for the Easter Buffets. Several choices of food to choose fun. The candy table was a great touch.

We enjoyed our meals. The server was attentive and fun. Our party had the duck wontons, the jalapenos wrapped in bacon and others. We had three different beef steaks, pork steak and sandwiches. Also a fine on-tap beer selection. We really enjoyed the 1939 lager. There was a large and comfortable outdoor dining area, if you prefer. We suggest you check it out.

Food was excellent. Food service was extremely fast. Only had time to take a few bites before the next course was brought out. Had appetizer, soup and main course on the table at the same time. We felt rushed. Food was good enough that we will come again but will ask to have it slowed down some.

Had a wedding reception here and it was wonderful. Lovely staff, great food and a nice space. It was also very afforable compared to other venues. Would recommend

We heard great things about Kingstons so we thought that we would visit with family members from Wisconsin. They took us to a private area in a room so we could get caught up over some Old Fashions and Martinis. Our waiter was great with recommendations and explaining dishes for us.

Everyone had steaks… I had the New York strip and my wife had the Fillet. ** a little history… we are from Colorado where flavor is a must if you want to stay in business and since we moved to Iowa 9 years ago, we have only had 1-2 places that served a truly flavorful steak** Well, they served us the best steak that we have had in a LONG time! Cooked perfectly and over the top flavor and tenderness! The sides were great and we were so full that we couldn’t even think about desert.

The bottom line is, if you want a great stake, you need to make sure that you make it to Kingston’s Steakhouse!

We were told this was a must go. Fine dining. We went this past weekend, and everything was awesome. We will definitely go back. The only downside of our visit is that we set on the patio. They had a bingo game going g and the basketball game (or some sort of game) on the TV. They would pause the bingo game in order to turn the TV up for a big play. Our waitress was spot on a d we were told it was pricy, but for the amount t of food that we got, along with the quality of food (a d service) I do not mind pricy. Next time we are looking g for a quite lunch for two we will sit inside.

Food was delicious and we loved the bread board with the 4 different butters that were brought out! Such a fun idea! We also saw they have a nice outdoor area and a happy hour so we'll be back to try those out for sure!

Update: their happy hour is one of the best in town. 2 for 1 on any drinks - beer, wine, cocktails Monday-Friday 4-6pm. This is especially great if you want a cocktail as only a few restaurants in town do a happy hour this generously.

Three of the butters stay the same but there's a seasonal one that rotates and it's always exciting to try a new flavor. Each time we've been there the staff has been amazing!

Wow! My boyfriend and I decided to try Kingston's finally and it exceeded our expectations! The delmonico was the star of the show, cooked perfectly to medium rare. I thought I might need steak sauce, but after trying a bite, not one drop was used. The flavor was incredible and the steak melted in my mouth. Another part that we loved was the bread with choice of four different butters! It was so delicious that we got some to take home. Near the end, we tried two different desserts. My chocolate cake was very rich and moist, and the attention to detail on the strawberry "rose" was another unexpected pleasant surprise. Outside of the food, our waitress was highly attentive and kind hearted. We will definitely be coming back.

We had a great birthday night with Jarett, and the food was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. The prices were a bit steeper than some other establishments I've been to, but it's a great local offering. Photo is of the medium rare prime rib with lobster bisque.

Came here tonight for my dads 70th birthday. The food was great! That butter tasting bread board was a great suprise and absolutely delicious. The prime rib oscar style was great although mine was a cooked a bit passed the medium rare that I ordered. The flavor was good enough to make up for it. Those lyonnaise potatoes with onion were delicious! Service was pretty good although a couple things had to be asked for twice. Though it was a 70th bday and we had happy bday balloons on the table the server didnt ever inquire as to whose birthday or acknowledge it at all, odd. All in all though the food was great so will be back.

Fun happy hour, great menu, good vibes, and a gun spot for a reception or party in their banquet hall area!

Great service and the wedge, sides and steak was killer. Didn’t have room for dessert but ordered it anyway and shared them. Everything was Great !

Everything was amazing, from the Greek salad to steaks. We had Prime Rib, Delmonico Ribeye and Sirloin and everyone's meal was exceptional. We were hesitant to pay @$50 for a steak from a steakhouse we knew nothing about, but wow, so glad we gave it a try. They have prices and meals for all budgets.
