Pumpernickel + Rye

I have been enjoying Pumpernickel and Rye's amazing sandwiches ever since they opened! There hasn't been a bad experience here, staff is amazing, friendly, fast helpful.

Don't Go Bacon my heart is my all time favorite from them. But every sandwich is delicious or you can make your own, whatever you want, it will be good.

If you have not checked them out please do, you will not be disappointed.

It is located in a nice spot with plenty of parking and patio space, this is one of the most welcoming places for a nice breakfast or lunch.

I stop in here frequently after swim workouts at the YMCA. The staff are always cheerful and friendly, even when servicing large amounts of customers, and the owner truly cares about those they serve. The food is handmade and prepared to order. I love the eggs and bacon, but their bowls are truly amazing, with catchy names like, “Let that Shiitake Go.” You simply cannot dislike this place, they aim to please and mission is accomplished! The dining areas are impeccably clean, the area is bright and welcoming, and if you go, you simply must try the homemade pop tarts! This is a place where even someone like me, on a very specific diet, can get a great nutritious meal or snack to power me through the rest of my day.

This place deserves more than five stars. Yes, it is a little pricey but I completely understand why because of the quality and detail put into the food and the restaurant it self. I was looking for a place to eat while I was visiting the area, so when I saw they offered gluten-free bagel options I had to try this place out as soon as possible. They did not disappoint! Also I have to complement the music they have playing in the background because it was all my favorite songs playing. Aesthetically this restaurant is beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the food was *chefs kiss*🤌

Just a hungry duo traveling from West Virginia to Baltimore looking for a pit stop & stumbled upon this gem of a sandwich shop! The employees were not only very helpful, but also extremely friendly. The food was delicious - we got the fried chicken sandwich on Brioche along with the Brie/Turkey on sourdough + fried tomatoes and latkes. We would order each thing again (but would also try all the other options, too!). Thanks for being so nice and serving us the best food of our trip. P.S. great selection of beers, too

So glad we finally tried this restaurant!! I initially thought the prices were high but the food is top quality and comes in large portions, so it’s 100% worth it. The atmosphere is also pretty relaxed. I’ll definitely be taking the time to enjoy the food and coffee in their outdoor seating.

So glad I discovered this place - by the far the best local deli in the DMV - the lattes and other drinks they have here are delicious as well. A+ for quality, taste and uniqueness of menu selections. Highly recommend.

We had Smokey & the Bandit (smoked brisket) and a kind of a big dill (Dill Egg Salad) sandwiches. So delicious- we also ordered latke’s with tomato jam.
The owner and his family were there- really nice people. I also got a growler of kombucha! I’m pumped to try it, I’ve never bought it by the growler before. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing- we’ll definitely be back!

I was mood for warm bowl and this one’ “So Close yet so farro” bowl was perfect! So delish!!
I have had their breakfast bagel sandwich, always so good!!

I’ve literally been waiting 7-8 months to come here and it did not disappoint at all! The staff was welcoming and very friendly. I asked for personal recommendations since everything looked so good! Our family settled on Don’t worry, Brie happy, a brisket sandwich (I’ll have to update with the name) and a chicken sandwich. There was a party going on in my mouth!

Great spot! The staff was very nice; so nice I even took up the cashier on her favorite smoothie haha. The dining area is very neatly designed and you get that green, down to earth vibe immediately after stepping inside. The food was great and knowing that everything is made in house is a BIG PLUS. But man... the one thing I'll never forget is that dang Cinnabon Macchiato.

Indoor and outdoor seating, great sandwiches and a decent selection of some craft beer singles to enjoy with your meal. I loved the Getting Figgy With It sandwich and enjoyed sitting out back with an ice cold beer as well...
I'll be back to try some other menu items and beers.

We stopped here as an alternative to a chain deli and it did not disappoint! The sandwiches were delicious and the Brussel salad bowl was amazing; so flavorful ! Highly recommend this cute deli!

What a modern take on subs, bagels, and coffee shop. The restaurant is kept pristine, making sure to abide by COVID regulations and cleanliness is immaculate. The food was delicious. I ordered the Notorious Pig, which was a great combination of savory and sweet with pulled pork, apricot jam, and provolone cheese. I also tried the Dont Worry Brie Happy, which was such a unique sandwich with Brie cheese, turkey, apples, and apricot jam. Finally, our table shared a side of fried green tomatoes. My only dislike was the horseradish aioli that came with the green tomatoes, but I feel that was more of a personal taste than poor cooking on the restaurants part. Finally, they have a range of other delicacies that I will be coming back for including: homemade bagels, other sandwiches and salads, macaroons (pumpkin spice, elderberry flower+fog, apricot and ginger), numerous types of cream cheeses, and coffee galore. They do not sell fountain drinks but do have a variety of drinks such as artisan sodas, sparkling water, and kombucha. Overall, i thought this place was fantastic, unique, and the staff were awesome, would recommend!

The cutest cafe ever!!! I love the decor and the vibe throughout the entire store. They also sell lots of different local and small business products (drinks, snacks, baked goods).

This is one of the few restaurants and businesses that I have ever seen that is transparent with their composting program. Pump+rye is partnered with Key City Compost and actually composts all their compostable products!! I was so excited to see this partnership. What a great idea!

The chai latte is delicious. There are also great pastries from a local bakery.

Neat little place to grab some delicious food. We had a couple of sandwiches (“gettin’ figgy with it” and “how now brown cow”) which were perfect. The sliced roast beef on the figgy was perfectly seasoned and melted in my mouth. The fig sauce complimented the rest of the sandwich. We also got some chicken tenders for the kindergartner, and the breading and sauce on them were great. The selection of drinks includes lots of adult and non-alcoholic beverages to take home. The pastries looked appealing, but we were stuffed from the sandwiches. The whole place is clean and the staff was welcoming. Definitely picking up lunch or dinner from there soon.

Ordered their breakfast for delivery and it was great! All the food was still warm - the bagels were fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The lox smith was awesome and the latke browns are delish - nice and crunchy and I loved the dipping sauce they come with too

Very cute coffee shop in urbana! I work in the area and was trying to find something different other than SB and Dunkin. I found this place on Google and turned out very good! The Egg and cheese bagel was delicious! The eggs were seasoned very nicely and coffee is delicious! Will definitely come back. :)

I stopped at this exit looking for a restroom, turned down a street looked up and saw this deli. I bought the big salad, “Lettuce Entertain you”, and it was outstanding! Not just tasty with its pumpkin seeds kale lettuces tomatoes avocado pickled onions… But beautifully presented as well! If I lived in Frederick I would eat here every day.

This is a great breakfast spot. I enjoy coming here and partaking in their vegan options and the staff is helpful telling me about the menu options. It gets busy on Sundays but it’s a joy to eat here.
