Searched YELP for breakfast before getting on Hwy. 151 . Stopped in for a sit-down breakfast (with real silverware & plates as we've been traveling for 3 days!) and knew right away how awesome this place was going to be! And, I chose well! It certainly was spacious & home-y. (Not StarBucks like at all! Much better!) For one thing, Megan greeted us like we were long lost friends & made us feel welcomed; even though we had never met as we are from Phoenix, AZ. She seated us & was also our server. (Lucky us!!) We both ordered the Egg White Omelette w/ English Muffin & coffee. He got the fruit & I had the hash browns and we shared the Nutty Carrot juice. Megan even gave us a sample of the Kale/Apple & Pineapple juices when I said we're were just passing through & never tried the other selections...All the food was great! But, the Nutty Carrot Juice was WOW! Creamy as a milkshake or malt!! I would definitely recommend Morning Story! Now, I will always remember the great food & service, but that juice is tattooed on my brain!!! Nothing will ever come close...

I celebrated my birthday with a brunch with a large party of my closest girlfriends. I called a few days ahead to ask about reserving the patio and was told it shouldn't be an issue based on time I chose (9:00 AM). The gentleman did warn me that they have had staffing issues and may be slower on service. I'll say that was farthest from the truth. We had our drinks quickly, food arrived quickly and hot, and everything was superb. With a group of 20+, I don't think our waitress missed anything on anyone's order. It was stellar. Thdy were also very accommodating when it came to the blinds and table placement. This is my second year in a row booking my birthday brunch here and I'll likely continue to due so based on today's service.

Breakfast with a slight flavor twist! Nicole, our server, was respectful, kind, straight and to the point. My recommendation; anything. I ordered the butter bacon and Steel Cut Oatmeal with the berry almond mix, coffee. This is what the mid-west has needed for a long time! My only recommendation is to offer a higher level of coffee options as well.

I was greeted with a smile by everyone! The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. They make you feel welcome! Our waitress was fast and very attentive. Food came out at a decent time. We will definitely be coming back! The hollandaise sauce was cooked to perfection! Not gritty at all!

We had breakfast here today. Food is excellent. Service is really fast for how busy it was. Definitely a place you need to check out for breakfast or lunch.

Amazing artisan food with wonderful taste at a great price!

- Country Fried Steak: They don’t put the cayenne pepper on it anymore, but they did for me at my request. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I do like spice. They certainly gave plenty of gravy, which I appreciated. The Country Fried Steak was moist on the inside and still a bit crunchy (despite being drenched in gravy). It was all around great!

The eggs sunny side up were okay. The hash browns were amazing with the cheese and onions. The rye toast was fluffy (not dried out) and their butter added a great texture and taste.

- French Toast: One of our party had the French Toast, which I helped finish. It had bananas and walnuts with syrup. The consistency of the toast and egg batter was spot on and the nuance of flavors added through seasonings was perfect without being overbearing at all. Just right.

- Ultimate Omelette: Another of our party got the Ultimate Omelette without mushrooms, but they came with mushrooms anyway. He has an allergy to mushrooms, though not severe. He just picked them off, but it was a bit of a disappointment.

- Bacon Flight: This includes all four flavors of bacon: Butter, Maple, Beer, and Sriracha.

Butter tasted as you’d probably expect from the title, but it was a little deeper and richer flavor of butter (scrumptious!).

Maple was also much like the title suggests, like maple syrup (I didn’t taste any Chipotle Chili).

Beer didn’t seem to taste as much like beer as I’d expect, but was great and did taste more like the Maple one (I didn’t detect much of the DiJon).

Sriracha was my favorite. It had a light spice that grabs the taste buds, too. Bold and magical! We all tried all the bacon flavors and some did note the Sriracha was too spicy for them.

- Coffee: The coffee was great. I like my coffee dark and bold and their coffee leaned more on that side (though not overly so). It was not burnt at all.

- Service: They were fast and very friendly! We sat outdoors, which is not normally my preference, but it was early and cool out without much humidity. The chairs sat a little low compared to the table and I felt like a kid that sat too low and needed a booster seat (I am 6’ tall).

We stopped by Friday at 7am (opening).

From the friendly staff that greeted us at the door to the beautiful decor it was a superb breakfast experience. My wife and I were in town for a concert and stopped in before a long drive home and loved it. The only negative is that we live so far away that I can’t make it my new “regular” spot. Thank you for the amazing experience!!!

We loved this place. Our first time. I had the bacon flight and the green chicken chili hash. Others in the party had pancakes and omelettes. In addition to flights of bacon, they have flights of iced coffee and mimosas. The atmosphere was great and the servers fun. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely delicious... Great value for the price! Happy hour half price drinks from 7-8am and after 1pm is the way to go. I recommend the massive breakfast quesadilla. The iced coffee flight was fun and tasty!

Saturday morning 930ish. Very busy but greeted quickly and short 5 min wait to be seated. Quickly recieved water and asked for drink order. The Latte was very good. We ordered our food and was like 10 mins and recieved our order. The food was prepared fresh and perfectly. We both ate everything on our plate. The bacon order was the only weak dish, maybe we are partial to plain bacon.

Look - I've been to a TON of breakfast spots. This is the first one my husband and I can't stop coming to! Every time we talk about eating somewhere else, we just think about how easily we could be disappointed anywhere else when it wasn't Morning Story. We have been here 5 or 6 times, both alone and with family, and we have tried probably 15 or so of the entrees. Every single one of them knocks it out of the park. My favorites are the mimosa chicken Benedict and the mushroom and spinach omelette. Their hollandaise is to die for! Service is also quick and the servers are always kind and accommodating. I also love their online wait-list. Cannot recommend enough!

The food is amazing. I’m working my way down the menu. Have had the Footlong Breakfast Burrito, the Chicken Fried Steak, Avocado Toast and the Bacon Flight. Also tried the Morning Story Cocktail. All delicious. The food has a very fresh taste and the flavors work together really well. The owner is super nice and checked in on us and also helped served the order. The restaurant is new and still has some growing pains. Things like table cleaning, seating guests and getting extras for an order like an additional biscuit did prove to be wanting. But was quickly rectified when addressed. Overall you will not be disappointed and is a MUST TRY. We have decided this will be our go to Sunday breakfast place going forward. See you there!

Great place to grab brunch with friends!! They have lots of coffee options, fun cocktails, and of course mimosas flights. One thing I found interesting was their bacon flights, if you are a bacon lover definitely check it out! I really enjoyed the Sriracha bacon. So many different tasty options on the menu something for everyone. I got the Philly cheesesteak benedict with hashbrowns. They have different styles of hashbrowns to choose from I loved the white cheddar ranch style the waitress recommended. 10/10 will be back to try more items.

You can joke all you want about finding "good "food in Cedar Rapids, and most of the time it's an oxymoronic comment. However! This place for breakfast (this is my second visit and I've only have had breakfast) is truly outstanding and easily rates for food and service with restaurants I love in New Orleans. Make sure you go and support this restaurant!

Morning Story might be my favorite breakfast place in the Cedar Rapids area. The cocktails are delicious, the bacon flight is unique and delicious, coffee was amazing and kept full. Service is excellent, food is even better. Expect a wait on weekends, but well worth it.

Where to begin, from the nautical atmosphere to the friendly service this place is a must try in Marion. Definitely is giving the other breakfast spots in Marion a run for their money. The food was AMAZING and the best breakfast I’ve had in Marion. They do serve lunch as well. We also got the mimosa flight and bacon flight which I would highly suggest. Only complaint, biscuits and gravy could have been better. Oh, and our waitress, Hailey, was perfect in every way!

Restaurant Layout/Vibe Rating - 5 Stars

My understanding is this is a family-owned and run business, here from Colorado to bring some refreshing food choices to the Cedar Rapids/Marion area.

The exterior of the building does not do it justice. Plain brick/glass storefront with what looks to be temporary signage. However, once you enter the cafe, you’re greeted with a refreshing vibe and atmosphere: modern fixtures, bright and clean color pallette, and friendly staff. A hostess is available to welcome and seat you, and straight ahead a small bar area has staff turning out lattes and mimosa flights. Ample seating is available including comfortable booths, chairs, and circular booths for a more intimate meal - in addition to the standard table/chairs setup.

Customer Service Rating - 5 Stars

Our server was very gracious. They greeted us with a smile and did a pretty fantastic overall job for how busy they were. It was at this time understaffed for the number of tables being servers, but I think they handled it excellently! We arrived at 9:46 on a Saturday morning, had our drink order in almost right away, with which we also ordered the sriracha bacon flight (WOW!); it was so good. Our food order was taken at 10:10, so about 24 minutes after arriving, and food came 20 minutes after that. Like I said, though, THEY WERE PACKED, and handled all in stride and honestly was speedy service compared to any other location around here when packed in the same way.

Food Rating - 4.5 Stars

5 Stars - Bacon Flight Sriracha - Amazing! Would get again!

5 Stars - Smokehouse Benedict - It's refreshing to get a good hollandaise sauce. This was lighter (in the way you won’t feel weighed down from butter or mayo like most other places that serve it around here) but perfect consistency. I very much enjoyed this.

5 Stars - Footlong Breakfast Burrito - This was by far my favorite item on this visit. A perfect combo of ingredients within the burrito. I will most likely get one for the family to eat every time we visit (yep, we know we are coming back already!).

4 Stars - Bacon Avocado Omelet - The plate was pretty basic; the cheese was melted on the outside of the omelet. It was good, just rather basic.

3 Stars - Biscuits and Gravy - The gravy was pretty good; however, the biscuits were very hard and not that enjoyable even when covered in gravy.

Kids meals:
Deluxe Scrambled Egg / Waffles / French Toast - All of the kid's meals are just a few choices as you might expect, it’s a kid's meal. ;) I suggest getting some of the larger dishes for the kids to split if your family is into that. The burrito, again, is fantastic and everyone enjoyed sharing it.

Drinks Rating - 5 Stars

We tried out the flight of mimosas and enjoyed those as well. I would say they are some of the best ones around.

Amazing breakfast joint! We came for the bloodymary and mimosa flights. Which were definitely worth it but the food was delicious as well. Staff was friendly and checked on us often.
