My husband and I embarked on a scenic Fall foliage drive during the last weekend of September, with a pit stop in the charming mountain town of Nederland, CO. We decided to grab a quick bite at Salto Cafe. Having already indulged in coffee earlier that morning, we opted for salads and a side of sourdough toast with butter.

I ordered the Greek Salad with grilled chicken, and it met my expectations. The portion size was just right for me. On the other hand, my husband chose the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. While he liked the flavor, it left him wanting more, and he wasn’t too keen on the texture and consistency of the dressing.

The cafe exudes a welcoming atmosphere, and its outdoor seating is a perfect choice when the weather is pleasant.

Great coffee. I had the Peruvian light roast, highly recommend. Really cool store with lots of cool pastries and products.

Be prepared, it’s a bit pricey, $5.70 for a pour over. But if you’re looking for the best coffee in Ned, this is it.

This is a lovely coffee shop and restaurant in the Rockies. I've been there is in the summer and the winter. The coffee and food are excellent. In the summer it is delightful to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. In the winter, sit inside and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere.

Excellent pour over and quality of flavor. The savory popover was excellent- get it warmed up. Outside there was a pleasant seating area with fire pit.

What a fantastic place! High ceilings and beautiful art, beautiful coffee, good food (falafel pita, in this case.) I love the additional unique flavors - I got orange cardamom in my latte. I'm staying with friends in town and it's their favorite of the three coffee shops in town. The power even went off while we were there (on the first trip) and they just kept on going with whatever they could do! (We came back when the power came back on.)

Edit - I've been back on a Sunday morning and really enjoyed another orange cardamom latte, a scone, and an egg sandwich, all of which were wonderful. That scone was huge and pretty amazing, in particular. Highly recommended!

Was looking for a cozy place to camp and do some work while my son and his buddies were skiing. I had their Borscht, which was AMAZING. Also had an avocado toast, which wasn’t traditionally mashed, but yummy. Splurged for a house pour-over, which was beautiful. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I love trying out as many coffee shops as we can during vacations. This one was definitely one of the best and one we will frequent. The atmosphere is very homely and we felt very at ease here. The baristas were incredibly knowledgeable and able to guide us throughout the ordering process. Syrups are house-made and not to sweet! The Orange Cardamom latte is a must!!!

Have always loved Salto for the drinks and atmosphere, but happy to see they are relaunching food again! The new partnership with Adventure Food Works for breakfast burritos and sandwiches is GREAT- morning and afternoon options are totally covered, and everything is delicious.
The vegetarian options are my new go-to in town!

Awesome spot in Nederland!

Got a maple latte, brown sugar/butter latte, and a (huge) slice of cake. Top notch lattes— great syrups that don’t overpower. Delicious, decadent cake too. Cake for breakfast? Sure, why not.

Cute, newer space connected to an outdoors store.

Nice big coffee shop with lots of options. Room for kids to play. Burrito and breakfast sandwich were good as were coffee drinks. Some games but could use some kids toys :)

They have some pretty unique flavors and the atmosphere is also very nice.

They also have a little fire pit outside where you can enjoy your coffee, company, and atmosphere.

Perfect way to start our morning before we head home. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Space is lovely, relaxing, and homey. Food was absolutely delicious!

Loved my orange cardamom latte! The person who took my order was so kind and visited with me! We went twice while we were in town. My husband loved the homemade jam!

Love Salto’s coffee regularly (the cold brew on nitro is my most recent favorite), but also really liking the food from Adventure Food Works that’s now coming out of their kitchen! The turkey sandwich at lunch was delicious and will be back to try the others. Pro tip: get the breakfast burrito smothered with their delicious green chili! They don’t skimp on the bacon which was a bonus!

Great place for quiet space for work on computer indoor or out with WiFi available. Good food, burrito..also brunch muffin with egg and bacon.

Very tasty specialty grade coffee, live the decor and ambience too. They often have a nice single origin roast available for your drinks which is a treat to see. I'll be back here often!

I wish there was a way to double the amount of stars here-Salto is an incredibly special, magnificent place. My husband and I have loved it since it opened years ago, so much so that when we decided to get married, we decided to ask them if they might be our venue. From that moment forward, Salto ascended into the stratosphere for us. They were so kind and supportive, from that first conversation, to our sad decision to delay a year thanks to COVID, to the final joyful event. Not only is the place itself spectacularly beautiful, the staff is kind, attentive, and flexible. And to top it all off, their Arnold palmers are legendarily good. I really can’t recommend Salto enough, from their spectacular breakfast burritos to their magnificent venue capabilities. It was truly a dream come true.
