We loved Black Walnut. Everything was really good, a wonderful space and excellent service. I didn’t love the crispy hash browns but those deviled eggs and Texas pecan coffee were wonderful!

I only come here for breakfast but today I came for dinner and the food was very good. I had pot roast and it was delicious and tender. My husband had a fried cod sandwich which is seasonal and he said it was so good. Fries were fresh and crispy. Kid burger was a good size as well!

The experience here was great. I had a Texas Breakfast with the pink lemonade Megamosa, and it was delicious. My friend also ate all her food and enjoyed the drink. It was easy to get a table. The food came out promptly, and the service that we did need was speedy and very helpful. It was a positive experience.

Everything here tastes so good! Love the crab cake egg Benedict, and also their pecan coffee!! Friendly waiters and great environment! Love it!

Overall, this was a good breakfast place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and moved everyone through the line and brought our food and drinks quickly.

I had the avocado toast with two over medium eggs. Personally, there was entirely too much citrus in the avocado. It was too sour for my taste. Eggs were delicious. I added bacon which was also very good. My friend had gluten free pancakes, egg whites, chicken sausage and fruit. She loved it. Additionally we had a Bloody Mary and mimosa which were both delicious.

I would definitely eat here again, I just would not order the avocado toast.

Very nice atmosphere. Table seating for families. Plenty of outdoor seating. Service wad accommodating and pleasant. Food was prepared well and delicious. I always get the almond croissant. Note: only accept CC/debit. No cash.

The food was really good. I got the chicken fried steak and a Mediterranean salad. The green beans were so tasty - perfectly seasoned. The bread and garlic butter was definitely the highlight of the meal.

Really love the coffee and lattes here actually! Eli makes the best drinks and is always super friendly and welcoming. The customer service is really what keeps me coming back. Place is always clean. Great atmosphere overall.

Visited for the first time and the food was great, very strong margarita and nice atmosphere. Overall we had a good experience and planning to return to try other things in the menu.

I visited this restaurant for the 1st time on Sunday. I had such a wonderful experience that I decided to go back 2 days later. Well, I had such a bad experience this time that my friend and I had pushed our chairs back to leave and had asked for our money back. We had decided to go somewhere else. Kyle, the manager, saved the day. His hospitality is one for the books!!! He was very concerned, friendly, knowledgeable, and solved the problem in a timely fashion. Kyle ... Thank You ! Dip in for a fast lunch on weekdays, expect a short line that moves quickly during timely hot spots on weekends. Don't miss their namesake salad! The Black Walnut salad is fresh and robust in flavor profile. Amicable staff adjusted my dressing to strawberry vinaigrette and switched the cheese option with a smile. Excellent service, food, and environment offer an experience, that of a restaurant that will withstand the test of time, even in Rice Village. Well done, lunch was a treat.

I want to send a big THANK YOU to the Black Walnut, Adan, (the general manager), Kyle (manager), and Kiara (waitress) who took car of us for the final activity of our 40th class reunion! Everything was excellent and everyone made sure we all went well. Thank you so much!

Chicken fried steak was awesome. Need to tell customers where silverware, drinks, salt/pepper, and what routine is for first timers.

Fresh delicious food, I had the Texas breakfast and my son had the chicken and waffles. Gotta say, I'd never tried it before but the chicken was so succulent and fresh, I'm now a fan. Atmosphere was upbeat and clean with a touch of class. Definitely a great destination for a relaxed bite. My son tried the Fanta Halloween flavor, looked nasty but it was actually tasty. Was fun anyway to try. Cheers.

Every single staff member was truly nice, and we encountered with many just walking to our table. All were very attentive, kind, and respectful. The food was delicious! We will definitely be going back.

We stop by here for brunch since we were headed back home. We wanted to make sure we ate good. The food was amazing. It was very busy. The menu had a lot of varieties of options for a brunch menu. The devil eggs with the bacon jam was delicious. All the food was good. My sister enjoyed the lobster tacos and my other sister enjoyed the turkey burger.She said it was very juicy. She ate the whole thing..lol well be back soon hopefully on our next trip to Houston.

came here for brunch and mimosas! we had chicken and shrimp pasta, it was delicious! We also got the mimosa pitcher and it was definitely worth the price

Wonderful food, great staff, and a lovely new patio. I especially like how well they deal with customizing an order. I’m allergic to several foods and they unfailingly produce delicious meals I can eat.
Relaxed atmosphere, menu has a good variety, and really really nice people working here. I love their chocolate cake!

I absolutely love this place! My stop every visit to MD Anderson. The staff never misses--they are always on point! Kuddos to management for a great team! They always accommodate my dietary restrictions while traveling. Fresh food and the most friendliest staff members. Prepare for a line on the weekends but they move fast and are definitely worth the wait!

COD is so fresh and batter is flaky and so good. Definitely will come back for some.
