This place is exactly what I didn't know I wanted in my life!
This is a hidden treasure in Portsmouth. Don't tell to many people because I want to keep it to myself. They have one of my favorite beers on tap (1865 Brew co), candle making, great wine, BEER, music, oh did I mention books! The atmosphere is outstanding. I'll post more pictures on my next visit but I was blown away.

My friend and I were here for an candle making event found on Eventbrite. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in because the establishment is huge! There is plenty of space to social distance. The book selection is large. The bar has wine, coffee and good looking pastries. It was great meeting some of the owners of the business, they were super friendly. I heard they have a list of events from live music, comedy shows, Chef-led experiences, and more. Do yourself a favor and go visit.

Unbelievable Scented candle bar. Rob, The Candle Artist hosts "Conversations" on Wednesday nights, where you can make your own candles while chatting with others in open conversation! Good seating and lighting!

Saturday nights is comedy night. They have local stand up comedians come and make you laugh. For 20 per person it is a great date night activity. Real chill atmosphere Wednesday they have couples candle making.

Bar meets bookstore plus an amazing wine and drink selection. Table games were so fun, connect four was a personal favorite!

Went to "Cocktails and Candle Making" event here. Absolutely lovely place. We had the opportunity to choose our fragrance out of many scents for our candles. The candles turned out fragrant and very pretty. Meanwhile, there were cocktails, fun and stimulating conversation, with live music. Unfortunately, at this time there are no food sells, but it's a great place for your book club to meet up, to hang out for cocktails, music, finding your favorite scent, and socializing.

Wow!!! What a beautiful space hosting some great events in downtown Portsmouth. Highly recommend folks check out what's happening here!

I hosted my book launch here because of the space, calm and inviting atmosphere, location and service. My guest highly complimented the environment, food and over all feel of the experience. I would recommend The Book Club for your event. Your guests will thank you.

This coffee/ wine bar is such a beautiful addition to Olde Town. Looooove the vibes, very sophisticated. Love seeing my black owned businesses doing so good! Being that they are still new they have been training staff and making changes here and there to best accommodate their customers. Juneteenth was one of the busiest weekends and I still felt like the owners were very expensive and accommodating even under pressure.

The book club is one of my favorite places to go during the week for a cup of coffee and a quiet place to get some work done. All of the staff are so nice & informative. The bartenders are always a joy to see, there’s a great book selection & Thursday night karaoke is sooo much fun.

We had the pleasure of spending three weeks in Olde Towne Portsmouth and The Book Club quickly became one of our favorite hang outs. It's a great space that includes excellent coffee, a nice selection of books to purchase and even a few freebies, amazing desserts, a candle bar (part of another business) and more recently the addition of select wines. April, the owner, is warm and friendly. We enjoyed getting to know her and wish her all the best in this endeavor. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and tell her Charlotte and Juan sent you!

The owner April is a fabulous host! Atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. A must go to if you are in Norfolk!!

Husband and I went to a valentine event this evening hosted by the owners, amazing. Live saxophonist and poet, great food and most of all great vibes. Will definitely go again.

Great atmosphere! Awesome vibes...the live bands are amazing! The owners are very friendly and makes the customer's feel amazing 🤩
