A traditional breakfast diner with checkerboard tablecloths and antiques on the wall. Definitely a feel of being at Grandma's house for breakfast. The food is delicious and the service is fast! I recommend the Danish style pancakes and the omelettes. The place can fill up quickly because it's definitely a hit with the locals.

Great "meat and potatoes" restaurant! It's a small town diner atmosphere with delicious food and big portions. Very attentive and friendly staff. Remember, if you are going wine tasting in wine country, there's not a lot of food out there on the wine trail. Lots of wine and no food equals having a big headache and being in a bad mood the whole way home. Have a big breakfast or lunch before you go.

Great old-school breakfast spot. Standard stuff was all delicious. Eggs, bacon, pancakes and french toast were solid.

We were driving to Northern California and stopped in for a late breakfast. It was an easy on and off from highway 101. My husband and I both had danish pancakes which were amazing. Great taste, light and fluffy. I slathered mine in their homemade raspberry jam and my husband had the homemade blueberry jam on his. Wonderful! I also ordered a danish sausage and enjoyed that so much. It is a pork sausage with onions and a really tasty additional spice - maybe like cloves? Hard to describe but very yummy.

Service was prompt and efficient. We were in and out in about 45 minutes although there was no feeling of being rushed at all.

If you are looking for a quick, quality restaurant near the highway, by all means give Ellen’s a try!

In the morning my wife and I decided to Ellen's Danish Pancake House just across the street from the Pea Soup Anderson's Inn where we staying at. It's short walking distances or a quick drive to the restaurant we drove but we learn next It's better walk if your Inn or hotel is just across the street. When arrive the restaurant looks like a house when we went into It's restaurant full of people having breakfast. Then the host took us to table and the menu were on the table.

We were looking at the menu to see what looks good then my wife decided to order the Danish Pancake came with egg and hash brown and also she order biscuits and gravy by the side. I order the waffle comes with eggs and bacon. The waitess brought the food looks good I took a bite of my waffle it air, crispy and very good I enjoy it very much and egg and bacon were very good especially the bacon It's long time I have bacon it was so good. My wife enjoy her Danish Pancake she ask the waitess they can put fresh strawberries in the Danish they did. She enjoy very much especially the biscuits and gravy one of her favorite. We need to come back again soon.

Our family favorite pancake house in Beulton. We've tried nearly everything on the menu over the years and are never disappointed. We always stock up on several jars of their famous delicious jelly's.

If you've never been to to Buellton or you're just passing through you must try Ellen's. I loved their Danish sausage and their pancakes are thin light and fluffy. It can get busy in the morning so there might be a wait. But definitely worth it!
2023. as good as ever

There are only two spots I go to for breakfast in the Buellton/Solvang area. This is one of them. Really great authentic Dutch style breakfast. Very country kitchen vibe but be sure to either get there early or be prepared to wait it get's busy. The Portions are pretty large so sharing is not an issue if that's your thing. It's also close to the FWY so if you're just passing though it's an easy stop off to get some great food.

A must stop for breakfast in Buellton. We had a delightful meal and our server was so sweet!

I ordered the linguica sausage breakfast, and an order of strawberry danish pancakes for the table. There was so much cream on the pancakes we didn’t need syrup.

I’m a huge fan of ordering pancakes/waffles for the table, because I prefer a savory breakfast. I usually only want a bite of something sweet.

Ellen’s delivered, and they had a local hot sauce (Pepper Plant?) at the table that is truly the best dang hot sauce I’ve ever had.

Great spot.

Wow, this place serves large portions. Breakfast all day. Both plentiful, indoor and outdoor, dining. Friendly and fast service. Food is full of flavor. They cook with salt very sparingly. Plenty of parking. I'd highly recommend.

Stopped for breakfast on our way up the coast. What a gem! Cozy and quaint like stepping into grandmas. It's apparent everyone knows what they should be doing and when it should be done. Food was full of flavor, Ellen's special with apple sauce yummy. My mouth is still watering. My son ordered SpongeBob french toast cleaned his plate. Hubby Louisiana hot sausage special, another winner.

Great diner fare. I just had their BLT with Avocado. As the menu states, a meal unto itself!

I love Ellen's! I especially p ecially love it on a weekday after noon because it isn't nearly as crowded. Normally, you have to wait for a table at breakfast. That's how good it is. I had an omelet (Denver), but they have really good Danish pancakes. They serve lunch as well as breakfast, but I love breakfast here. I took a "doggie bag" home so I can have a second great breakfast tomorrow morning.

A pattymelt for lunch with potato salad and it was delicious. I've been going to Ellen's Danish Pancake House for well over 30 years and have never been disappointed. Try their fried chicken- it's the best!
