Plato's Closet

This is the best clothing store, I am non binary and it's hard to find clothes I feel comfortable in but there is a lot of androgynous choices at platos. Also always being poor, it's nice to have a place with high end really nice clothes for way cheaper. This is my go to thrifting store now.

My husband and I love this place! The older reviews couldn't be more wrong. We have had a wonderful experience selling and shopping in this store. Loyal customers here from now on....and a special shout out to Felicity! She is the primary reason that we will definitely keep coming back. She is the definition of outstanding customer service, and she always wears a smile 😁

I always have a blast here. so many of these reviews are complaining about how they didn’t accept “their” clothes! this place is SO TRENDY ALL the time….. they carry sizes xs-xl in woman's and I think I seen a few random items that were xxl but anyways they don’t accept your clothes because sorry it’s just not what’s “in” at the moment u brought them in. Even if your clothes have tags on them and never been worn… why don’t u want it? I can buy 5 shirts at old navy and give it to them with the tags and they won’t accept it… because old navy isn’t really “in” they might accept 1 piece if it’s to die for or if it’s a similar trending looking item but that’s how they operate… they only accept cool trendy clothes not clothes u don’t want anymore…. They will give u every piece back if they feel like they just aren’t cute. Also they always have GREAT MUSIC PLAYING! I mean the music vibe is fantastic. It does get a little Awkward feeling in there sometimes because the girls that work there look like they hate their lives. Never had a specific attitude towards me but they r like miserable robots and always very very young I never seen someone older then 18-20 ish. The girls never seem to talk to each other or laugh etc. but other then that it’s pretty nice and tjmaxx is right next door so if u didn’t like it you can step out the door and enter tjmaxx next door. Advice to owner is you’re basically doing great running this place keeping it cute and up to date; nice fitting rooms and super organized but could use more upbeat girls who socialize and seem more alive. It will make the vibe a lot more fun and relaxed which will make people shop more and not feel awkward while shopping because of how quite and not… fun the girls are. But I will be back over and over and over!

This place blew me out of the water. Fantastic trendy clothing for incredibly reasonable prices. I got a whole outfit for less than $20, and if I where to buy the outfit at any other store it probably would have been $60+. They carry trendy clothing for all shapes and sizes and the clothing is always well organized. The staff is helpful and polite, I will definitely come back soon!

As someone who has both bought and sold clothes at consignment stores around the seacoast area, I've had the best experience so far at Plato's closet. They have bought more of my clothes than Wear House in Portsmouth and the now closed store Second Time Around. The staff is very sweet and helpful and they don't usually take more than 10-15 minutes to check through and enter clothes. My advice to anyone who is looking to sell their clothes to Plato's closet would be to keep trends in mind. They won't always take items that still have tags attached if they are outdated. Don't be afraid to ask the staff what they are looking for and what brands they usually will take, they are very friendly and will give you a good idea of what they are looking for. What I love about Plato's Closet is that they pay you cash the day you drop off clothes, something that Wear House and Second Time Around won't do until your clothes sell in their store. Also, their prices are unbeatable. You can find brands such as Juicy Couture, Michael Kors, Forever 21, Nike, the North Face, Free People, and more there for less money than you'd find at any other consignment store. Don't pass up this store, I've gone in multiple times and have had nothing but a positive experience!

This place is amazing and very organized. I can’t wait to go back. The clothes are not like I have seen in other thrift stores. They look brand new & don’t have that “thrift store” smell. I think they even had a candle burning & the staff is very friendly!

I love Plato's closet! I always stop here before I try the mall stores- trendy clothing at amazing prices. Upbeat and friendly staff. Great atmosphere. The clearance sales are awesome & they send coupons out all the time!

90% off sale was great - got ten pieces of free people, Reebok, Hollister, etc all in like new condition for $12 total. Checked out the regular priced items as well - very reasonable prices and on trend.

I loved it. Every one was just helpful and I only brought in my cloth and received cash on the spot as I just looked around they were done with my pile grand open is Thursday. good luck everybody has slightly used clothing so bring them by very clean organized wonderful thank you Cheryl
