This place is the most relaxing place to eat! The staff greeted us with a smile and was so happy and nice! Our waitress Heather was an absolute Gem! Checked in on us often and provided extraordinary service! I had the cape cod scallops and the specialty cocktail New Year Same Me which I found out was inspired but the chefs trip to Thailand and everything we tasted down to the presentation was STELLAR! The oysters Rockefeller for our app was just so divine and well put together! They also accommodate dietary restrictions which is posted in their menu! We will be back! We love it there!

What a great time we had at the Carriage House Restaurant! We had a table by the window facing the ocean view, great service and food.
Gnocchi with Lobster was flavorful, with pillows of Gnocchi and a reasonable portion of Lobster. My friend had the Flounder wrapped in pastry which was also delicious. The drinks were refreshing and well crafted. Our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly.

An outstanding dining experience. After reading other reviews, we decided to give it a try. We had a reservation but arrived early. Not a problem. The host greeted us with a friendly smile and sat us at a table next to the window overlooking the ocean. Our waitress made excellent recommendations as well as specials that were not on the menu. The food was outstanding. The service was wonderful. I never write reviews but this is one I could not help. By all means, try this gem of a restaurant.

Loved this experience! The ambiance upstairs was perfect and the cocktails were unique and delicious. The food was fantastic and I highly recommend the scallops. A dessert drink finished my night and I would highly recommend this for a date night dinner!

This was our first visit to the Carriage House. We rated it as one of the top 5 dinners we have ever had. The fish and scallops were cooked to perfection and the sides were just as delicious. Make sure to reserve a table and try one of their excellent specialty cocktails.

We have been to the Carriage House 3 times over the past year for special occasions and nights out with friends. The food and service is spectacular. My friend was able to choose from many gluten free options (not listed directly on the menu, but the waitress was very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions). We ordered different items and have been impressed every time!

Great place, great food, great ambient, great staff. Love this place. The restaurant is located in a lovely spot: a surf beach in Rye, NH. The servers were all so welcoming and kind. The cooking staff and the chef prepared to us special sharing options like charcuterie. We got some welcoming fine wine glasses. A whole complete experience.

We love this place. Very busy for New Years eve. Service was excellent and bar drinks tops. The food is excellent. Make sure to have reservations and parking can be a little tough but off season can park across at beach area.

Great pork schnitzel and hanger steak. Great Margherita. Great service. Sorry to keep using great...but it was. It is a nice trip up the coast to this Rye NH restuarant. Drive along the coast, watch the surfers and view the ocean front mansions, then stop at the Carriage House for dinner. 40 min from Andover.

This very rustic elegant restaurant. The dark post and beam style ambiance matches the upscale food and service wonderfully. The service was friendly and professional. Oh and did I mention the have an oyster menu? 5 different kinds. The food was great. There drink menu is fun. My drink I chose was no problemo

Outdoor ambiance is great. Git the best seat in the house. Food and service are good. On-site limited parking but there's a beach parking close by.

The stuffed olives were an unexpected surprise. Delicious!
We enjoyed our monkfish and braised ribs entrees, too.

Dined at the Carriage House last night and it was phenomenal. Highlights: reservation was timed perfectly, no waiting. Staff was kind, attentive, available, and informative. Really one of the last places to honor proper dining etiquette. Food was the best meal I’ve had in portsmouth. Fresh, local, cooked perfectly. Even down to the cocktail we had! Everything is made in house and you can tell. For the quality of service and food prices are more than reasonable in a chic environment. The Carriage House brings city quality to a small costal town. If you’re visiting this is a MUST STOP.
