Rodrigo Fanti is a black belt under the world renowned Carlson Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team. I came in to train at Ohana while on vacation in Maui, and Fanti and all his students were incredibly warm and welcoming. Mahalo to Fanti and team for having me!

One of the greatest things about training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is making new friends across the world. Professor Fanti and his gym are excellent ambassadors of the "gentle art" and of Maui as a whole. From the moment I stepped foot in the gym, I felt welcomed.

I had the pleasure of attending a couple of drop in classes while on vacation, and found excellent instruction backed up by an excellent group of people. Everyone was both welcoming and talented, and I would recommend Ohana Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to drop in or attend full time.

Was immediately welcomed when I dropped in for open mat on Sunday. Awesome facility and great people. Can’t recommend highly enough!!

Awesome place to train jiu-jitsu while on vacation. Space is outdoors, you get some fresh breeze and an amazing sunset view. They do a solid warm up for older people like me to avoid injuries 🙂 I learned some cool techniques and rolled with friendly partners. Totally recommend!

This is the best Maui Jujitsu academy on the island. Especially if you’re looking for someone who is excellent working with children. The adults section has top notch members from former navy seals to former police and military who sharpen their skills here. The instructor is a highly skilled jujitsu practitioner who studied under Gracie Jr. in Brazil, so you know you are getting exceptional training.

I was on vacation and stopped in for a class. I came in nogi (even though it was a gi class) and Coach Fanti adjusted the lesson to accommodate me. Coach Fanti was very kind and attentive. I had a great conversation with him after class. The class had great energy and was all smiles. I will definitely stop by the next time I’m in Maui!

Beautiful location, got to watch the sunset from the mats then train with some of the nicest guys on the island. Great family vibe and great Jiu Jitsu.

My family and I are in Maui for a 2 week vacation and I couldn’t go without at least a few rolls while here!

Rodrigo Fanti is a 2nd degree BB and part of the Carlson Gracie lineage. He was super kind and the training was really fun with great people as well. Aloha, I would like to express my gratitude to Professor Rodrigo Fanti and the Team at Ohana Jiu Jitsu Academy for the warm welcome in Kihei tonight. Being displaced from my Westside ohana Aloha Roll Academy due to the fire this past month has been hard. It may sound silly but losing all of my Gi’s and belts with the exception of one I had at my shop when my home burned hit me hard tonight. My first Gi and white belt with the stripes meant the most out of them to me as I worked hard to get to the blue belt with a stripe.

Some might say it’s just stuff but losing it hurt. Tonight, I showed up with no belt and was welcomed with open arms. I love Jiu Jitsu, it’s a bond that many won’t understand until you get on the mat and try it out.

Spent twelve days in Maui while on vacation with my family and wish I had of dropped in on more classes!

Ohana Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic club, and I wouldn’t hesitate to drop in again! The club was extremely welcoming and I had some great conversation and rolls with its members! Was more than happy to be a training partner for some of the guys who are competing next week and work their techniques!

I had such a great time training at Ohana Jiu Jitsu Academy. Professor Rodrigo Fanti and his team of practitioners were incredibly inviting. We drilled lasso guard techniques and sparred. It was an absolute blast and I plan to attend again the next time I am in Maui. They are currently located at Maui Powerhouse Gym in Kihei.

My son went there and he said it was awesome. He was welcomed in like ‘Ohana while we were visiting. He is looking forward to returning. Rodrigo and the other instructors were really nice and willing to help him in any way whether it was help with a drill or in a spar and after a spar they would give him tips. Great gym, great Jiu Jitsu! :)

Dropped in for an open mat while visiting the island. I was welcomed and got some very solid rolls in. Rodrigo is the man - we talked life and jiu jitsu for a while at the end. He’s an amazing coach with a wealth of experience. Rodrigo is growing a great team/gym. I would join if I lived here! Definitely recommend anyone with any level of experience check them out.

I dropped in during my visit to Maui. I was greeted by friendly faces and some fun rolls. Professor Fanti made the time to introduce himself to me. Made me feel very welcome and chatted for a while. The rest of the guys on the mat were all tough and technical. Such a perfect addition to my time in Maui. Please drop by and visit them and if you’re looking for permanent jiu jitsu home, I think this place would be great. I can’t wait to go back and train again.

Fantastic experience here! Fanti is an excellent professor — very skilled, patient teaching, also warm and inviting. The rest of the team was also very friendly with a great variety of training partners in skill and size. I highly recommend this place!

I love this Jiu Jitsu class. Very welcoming and encouraging - which makes it far less intimidating for a new person. But also some great high-level instruction and advice from the top. I've been 4 or 5 times now, and will continue to show up weekly!

Was on vacation and dropped in. Great professor and very welcoming school. Can’t beat the rooftop view at the school as well. Highly recommend stopping by!
