ERIK'S - Bike Board Ski

My wife and I went to Erik’s today to take advantage on some great deals on skis and boots. Not only did we walk out with some good savings, we were lucky enough to work with Chris who took care of us. He made sure we got exactly what we needed. He understood what we were looking to buy and made sure he did what he could to meet and surpass expectations. This is the second time we have shopped at Erik’s. We just heard of them a couple months ago. Both times we received excellent customer service. This is why we keep going back and recommending them to others. Not only do you get a good deal. The customer service makes you feel like you made a friend that you can trust. That is important when making a big purchase. Great job Chris!

Our sales associate was Chad Henderson. He was awesome for us. Patient, informative & went above and beyond to answer our numerous questions. He was the deciding factor in our purchase. Not the price. The price on Specialized bikes are the same everywhere. We went to other bike shops. Chad was the reason we purchased from Erik’s in Oak Brook.

I started going here recently and I have to say not only the service, but the people are above and beyond in terms of quality and professionalism. I want to give a huge shout out to Alex, Basil, Chad and Ken. Over the few times I've been there from service to new purchases they have been extremely helpful, answered all my questions, had great patience and really knew how to make a customer feel comfortable leaving the store with whatever was purchased or worked on. Easily my go to recommendation for all things winter sports.

Wonderful customer service! I know nothing about snowboarding, but I had the daunting task of purchasing a snowboard for my 13-year-old daughter. King greeted us at the door and was our snowboarding expert, who educated us on all the different factors to take into consideration when choosing a snowboard. King helped us find the perfect snowboard, which my daughter loves! I also love the fact that they have a shop right downstairs where they set up the bindings and wax them for you. All in one quick stop—perfect! I would definitely come back here to purchase again in the future.

I had my first experience with Erik's last night. My mom planned a last-minute trip to Alpine Valley to snowboard this weekend and I really wanted to get my boyfriend & myself step-n bindings before the season started. My mom told us about Erik's, but they close at 7, so we planned on racing over there after work which ends for both of us around 6. We showed up around 6:20 and I feared my request of new bindings, boots, and more would be an irritating ask so close to closing time. I was instantly proved wrong when we were greeted by the incredible Alex. Not only was Alex not irritated with us in the slightest, but he almost seemed genuinely excited with our request. Alex is a proud snowboarder himself which was so cool to have someone with so much experience helping you firsthand. He didn't make us feel rushed AT ALL, but he also didn't Lolly gag. He was efficient, helpful, smart as hell, price conscious, and charming. I honestly ended up buying way more than I should have because of how excited he got us for this snowboarding season. He was able to get both of our board bindings done while the other AMAZING co-workers of the store helped us with our smaller requests. Alex even recommended extra things that we didn't think about to make this season better for us. My bf is going back today to get his new boots heat molded! Overall, this was probably the best experience I've ever had at a retail store in my life. Erik's gained two lifetime customers last night and I would recommend this store to anyone & everyone you asked or didn't ask because that's how amazing I left there feeling last night.

Alex was great in providing personalized service and helping me to select the right board and bindings. Very happy with my in-store experience and will certainly come back when I need something new.

I had the best bike purchasing experience ever at this location. The shop was big, clean, and had everything you could think of from different type of bikes for different riders in addition to a large variety of accessories. I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted visually, I just knew what I wanted it to feel like when I got on: easy, seamless, at one with my body. My sales person was amazing, we tried serval bikes, many test drives. We left and came back another day and did it all again before I made a decision. I love the bike I chose, it makes me want to ride every day. We also purchased a rack and had them install it all in one day and I was able to take my bike home. Erik's had lots of purchasing options, including financing if you need it. I also like all the services they offer such as bike maintenance and tune ups.

Very patient and helpful staff. I worked with Chris and two other helpful staff. They were great. As a first time snowboarder, Chris and two other staff took the time to answer questions and give advice. They helped me pick out boots, bindings and answered all of my questions about my first time snowboarding. I will definitely be back to Erik's.

The gentleman who helped me out was great. He was helpful answering all my questions and even was kind to my 3 year old who was running around the store. Great customer service!

I was over at ERIK’S and Alex M. (Salesman) helped me and guided me with the best snowboarding setup (snowboard, boots, bindings) for a great deal. If you’re looking for winter equipment (snowboard, skis, bikes,etc…) ask for Alex M. He’s really knowledgeable and will go the extra step for you to make sure you get the right setup and your moneys worth. Great experience will come back for regular service for my board and from more purchases.

Don’t let the negative reviews deter you from shopping at this location! After much research online and locally in Texas on a very specific bike I’ve been looking for (the Cervelo Aspero 5) in my size, I found my dream bike at Erik’s. The good news was that it was on sale, but the bad news was that it was all the way in Illinois! I was in a rush to buy this bike so so I decide to drive to this store to pick it up in person with my fiancé.

Chad, the assistant manager, and also the sales person who helped me over the phone, was on point with sending pictures and giving me details and answers to my questions to my questions. I haven’t experienced this level of excellent customer service in a very long time - I was very impressed, especially considering I was an out of state buyer. The bike was even better than I expected in person and it was well worth the 917 miles of driving to pick it up. Erik’s in Oak Brook is the best!

Ken and the staff were a great help. Much more personable service than at the big box stores.

Also appreciated the staff were not “gate-keepy” about snowboarding. You can find that type of attitude from staff at other speciality stores and can be intimidating, when you’re not a pro.

Staff is the most helpful of any I've ever met. I learned a lot about mountain biking and some maintenance while on the trails. I'm customer for life.

It is great experience. I bought a bike and they had it ready pretty quick. Pick up experience is wonderful! And it was also the first visiting their store. Clean and well organized! Highly recommended

Jorge was very helpful and knowledgeable with snowboarding gear. I was able to get the store's 35% off clearance discount on every item, even though I had to buy some items through the online system that weren't currently in stock at the physical store.

First time coming to Erik's after REI stopped selling snowboards and snowboard gear and everyone was super helpful. Shoutout to Basil in the services department as we was super nice, knowledgeable, and helpful.

King was the man!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better and more thorough shopping experience!! Will definitely make the drive back from Valpo for any other skiing/boarding needs!
