Just returned from a 2 week stay with 2 large groups in the 1000 Islands Hart House, Wellesley Island NY. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed this beautiful property. It is elegant, yet warm and inviting. It's like stepping back in time and relaxing in an area of natural beauty. We would definitely come again to this property and if you plan on a visit to 1000 Island I would recommend you plan to stay in Hart House. Our hosts Jamie and Marianne were great and would highly recommend.

Our family held a Celebration of Life for our mother on June 3rd, her 97th birthday. The Hart House was the perfect setting, the perfect service and truly felt like our home.
We stayed in the entire house of 13 rooms and cannot say enough good things about our experiences.
The gathering they catered for us was for over 60 people and the entire HH staff made it a joyful experience we will never forget!

In an increasingly isolated world of self check-ins and automation, Jamie and his staff revitalized the “personal touch” associated with a bygone era of B&B’s. Their schedule kept pace with the dichotomous timetable of vacations: prompt breakfasts prior to scheduled activities and flexible coffee shop hours with snacks for languid afternoons. With their curated suggestions for activities based on weather and preference, every day was idyllic and enjoyable.

Inside guests are swept up in the comforting embrace of suzani cushions, ornamental wood furniture, and the unique touch of minimalism that controls the clutter of contemporary English cottage living.

Outside, the sunsets dance off the two-toned cedar shingles whether seated by the fire pit, under the folds of a weeping willow, or watching the chipmunks and osprey from a private patio with a bottle of wine.

I can’t recommend Hart House enough for those who want to live like they were part of the Gilded Age of Bolt and Singer Castles.

My wife and I had a fabulous stay at the Hart House B&B. Our room (the Kashmir Garden Sweet) was beautiful and luxurious and clean. The whole house was lovely and interesting and well-kept. Our host was incredibly friendly and gracious and welcoming. In addition to a great breakfast (that we expected), he treated us to a glass of wine and a charcuterie board when we arrived (that we didn't expect). The only minor disappointment was that I thought there would be a view of the river, but there wasn't (just a glimpse of a bay across the road). Nice surroundings though, and a little sitting garden outside our room. We would definitely go back, and recommend to others.

We felt welcomed from the moment we entered the front door until we left.
We really enjoyed the combination of a Murder Mystery Dinner and an overnight stay. What an amazing experience to be in such a lovingly restored piece of history. Jamie and Marianne are very attentive and accommodating. It is refreshing to see the owners are hands on and very passionate about their accomplishments.

Arrived on Sunday, met by the owner, who commented on how heavy the suitcase was, ( 2 girls packed in one).
Got up Monday morning, no coffee waiting and no breakfast. Was given a voucher for the Gussle in Thousand Island Park, less than ten miles form the Hart House. We returned on Monday evening before 10 P.M. and locked the door. Tuesday repeat of Monday, except he did buy a box of Fruit Loops for the girls (that was breakfast) and received another voucher. Came back to the house to find our beds unmade and no clean towels. We received our third voucher and we checked out Wednesday and owner was not around to thank us for staying there. We then went to T I Park for our 3 voucher breakfasts. Since leaving the area the small diner has burned, which a shame, nice place. I am not sure where he will send people for breakfast in the future. If you want just a bed
in a turn of the century house, this is it, otherwise do not expect any thing else.
