Fish N Tails Oyster Bar

Nothing but good experiences here! When my daughter is home from school, this is one of her favorite places! We picked up gumbo tonight but have dined in many times at the bar and at a table and had excellent service every time. If you don’t like seafood, there are still options for you. The fried rice is delicious, the crab legs are as good if not better than the more expensive crab stores, the drinks are strong, and the bartender will cater to your requests. Would recommend for food and service any day!

If you need some fish - drop your line into this place. They are always busy, which is a good thing for a seafood place. :)

The food so far has been great. The special grilled slalom with the pineapple cream sauce (one of their specials) is excellent and everything we've tried on their menu has more than met our expectations.

The restaurant is kept clean and it's largely self service, they bring the food to you but you get your own drinks.

This place if very loud, and always crowded. We've never had a problem finding a place to sit, though there are usually few choices. Large groups might be tricky.

I highly recommend this place for the food.

Order at the counter seafood restaurant. Restaurant is fairly new, clean and in good order. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Clam chowder was excellent. Both the grilled and fried catfish was very good. Prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend.

This place is good for people watching one's cholesterol or just being health fanatics. The Fish Taco is awesome, w generous amount of mexican rice, steamed broccoli, carrots, & zuchinni. The grilled catfish w ample amount of rice & steamed veggies. The fish were not greasy not because its grilled but not lathered with oil to make it look not dry. Reasonable prices, one get more for your money. I never seen a restaurant generous with vegetables. Usually one pay for this as side orders. It was lunchtime, Plenty of tables. Friendly waitress. Good ambience for dates, get-together with friends & co-workers. Its got a bar, not condusive for little ones.

So grateful this place is in Wylie! It brings a fun vibe especially on Fridays. They have TV screens up where they stream sporting events.

The prices are reasonable and the food is really good.

And for those who are interested, they have a happy hour from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The atmosphere is great but the inside seating is an open room so you can see everyone there. If you want privacy it’s not really here. I had the boiled shrimp and crab legs and it was great! The sauce is spicy so be careful! You can choose how spicy. We also ordered the shrimp nachos. They were good but it was missing something like black beans or maybe guacamole or sour cream because the stuff to put on it seemed rather dry. The pina colada was very good. I’m picky too so there’s that. The food and everything else was great quality! I would definitely recommend. I just need to try the rest of the items on the menu!

I’m not a food critic, per se, and often find that reviewers many times seem to be after an opportunity to vent, etc. But when a place does well, I try to give public kudos, and lemme tell ya, this Fish N Tails does wings somethin’ proper. Everybody has their druthers, of course, but ordering their buffalo wings extra crispy, I can tell you this seafood spot will be my goto spot when I want fried wings. Most places either really don’t get ‘em extra crispy, or they simply have poor quality wings. Texture on these is nearing perfect, even post sauce. The only suggestions I would make for enhancement (notice, I said enhancement not improvement) are:

1. Have a hotter version of the same delicious sauce
2. Have a 15 wing basket (10 is a smidge too few for me)

Wonderful food, large shrimp, best shrimp cocktails (im Mexican so I know it is good). I accidentally ordered incorrectly and they were quick to accommodate. Five stars for the gentleman that made for great experience.

This place have the best seafood cajun caldo, is delicious, I love that it has poblano pepper, zucchini, a lot of fish and shrimp not that much as I would like to see but acceptable and more and when you put the cilantro and onions with lemon too is something else, the bolillo passed through the grill smeared with butter simply delicious, you won’t regret it! 100% recommended

I love this restaurant! Food is always great. Drinks are amazing. Our bartender is always great conversation, and everyone is nice and courteous.

The food is delicious, and the draft beer is extremely cold and refreshing!

I've visited their other location in Plano and it's never a disappointment. The food was awesome.

Pretty good food. The lunch rush didn't hurt them at all because our food came out pretty fast. I'm a grilled oysters type of guy and they were good. The fried oysters and shrimp were very flavorful.

Very clean place and the customer service was good. Great job.

Went back last night to be pleasantly surprised to see crawfish on the menu. Crawfish with broiled oyster made for a great meal. The seasoning was perfect. They just get it right.

I've dined there on at least 20 occasions. Most everytime the food has been a 10. Tonight was octopus. Whole grilled octopus. I've never had it be so tender. It was unbelievably tender and well seasoned. The combination of grilling and seasoning made it a perfect pairing with rice and veggies. Nicely done.

OMG! So I just moved here and this is the 1st place I tried out based off of the reviews and they did not disappoint! I ordered the Ceviche and the grilled shrimp and scallops based off of their recommendation. It was delicious! Seasoned perfectly! Fresh chips came with the Ceviche as well. 😋 I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu and hit up that bar! 😍

I had a issue with extra charges on my credit card and JJ handled it great. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. JJ was concerned that it was charged by accident and was extremely apologetic. He even comped a shrimp cocktail, which was fantastic, as a final gesture.

Loved the size of Crawfish and their seasoning. Fries are thickly cut and not greasy/soggy. Calamari was great too. Theres 3 levels of spice. Mild (which has no chili), Medium, and Spicy. But if you really like spicy things, their medium feels more like mild.
Sadly, in the midst of covid, we can't eat in house anymore. Hopefully, everyone can still try them out with pick up orders.

OooRah! They are open for dining in during the Wuhan virus crises again. Also patio seating but they will need to put the shade up again during summer months. Lots of room between tables, see photos. They are taking virus preventative measures, see photos. Great 1st impression at this location. We took a car trip from Plano to eat here to get out of the house and to visit a home we lived in for a few months over 20 yrs ago in Wylie. By the way the food was great; fish tacos and shrimp salad.

Loved everything we had! Fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, steak fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Everything was hot and crispy and delicious! The food came out fast, and the waitstaff was very friendly.
