The reason I gave 5 star
One day I left my iPhone on the shopping cart and gone to work. I thought I left my phone at home and called my kids to check for me and they couldn’t find it.
I use find my phone on my laptop and it showed me Safeway and I remembered that I left it on the cart.
I called customer service and they asked me what type of phone it is and told them they said they have it. Later after work went there and got my phone.
I am thankful to the staff who got the phone and kept it at customer service.

Recently moved to Ijamsville and really enjoy the Damascus Safeway. Everyone is very friendly, the store is super clean. New refrigerator section with doors. Tuesday at lunch was a great time to go. You can save points for gas discounts at the Safeway Fuel down the street. Lots of great ready made meals and the bakery is top notch.

We have been using the pickup service for the last 10 times we've shopped here. And, it has been wonderful. The attendants have been at our car in less than 5 minutes (max) each time. We're consistantly on our way home in less than 7 minutes. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed shopping here. Courtesy and service is on point. I used to work in a produce department and I am pleased to report the produce looks fresh and rightly rotated by FIFO methods. Checking out and bagging were also on point as my prior experiences confirmed appropriate level of service and interaction. The store is clean and well stacked with goods. I previously experimented with the Pork chopped from there which the entire family enjoyed from my cooking. The town itself has great growth potential for both business and people, and this store sits right in the middle of three entry and exit points.

James was extremely helpful when I came in searching for a specific gift card. After I asked him if they had any of the ones I was looking for left, not only did he come back and check on us to see if we found it, but he searched other places in the store to see if they had any in stock. Usually people wouldn't take the time to follow up or check in the first place, so I really appreciated the effort that James put in during my visit.

I know it may seem silly to review a place for seasonal things... And this is my neighborhood Safeway. But there are two great reasons to shop there.

1. They always have some great fresh flowers for all of the seasonal things like Valentine's, and Easter, Mother's day etc. And the prices a re pretty reasonable, especially compared to delivery and flower shop prices.

2. My wife has received so many great compliments on the fresh produce she buys at our neighborhood Safeway. I don't know if this area just has really good produce, or if the buyer at this store really knows their stuff. But they really do a good job in that department too.

I'm not the person doing the main shopping function for our home, but to these two things I can attest.

You will be hard pressed to do better.

The pharmacy is excellent the way they treat customers always. Polite always have a smile! It's a clean store well stocked and the cashier's are friendly and helpful. I love my safe way even the mgt is helpful and happy.

I love this store and although there are other grocery stores closer to home I still prefer to go to this one. It's got a great bakery and deli counter & a nice selection of plants and flowers too.

Just received my flu shot & first of 2 shots for shingles vaccine. Pharmacist was very knowledgeable, professional & gentle. I feel am helping my community by keeping myself healthy. Thanks Safeway pharmacy for making it so easy. I had filled out flu shot paperwork online before I went to the store.

Prices are a little high (on various items) unfortunately. Nice employees though who go out of their way to help you....

Best grocery store. Can get fresh vegetables, in baked Bakery items and all types of home utilities.

This is my neighborhood grocery. They generally have an excellent selection of produce, and I especially appreciate the large cheese selection. The pharmacists are carrying and friendly. And I love the cents off gas rewards at the local Safeway gas station!

Really good selection. Great prices and with coupons even better. Love self check out. My kids love it too. $5 deals are awesome- boston cream pie cake, cookies and other things just gr8.

It's my neighborhood Safeway. Has all the Safeway stuff plus a bonus Starbucks! Has an outdoor dining area for some reason. Keep note: the bathroom is in the front, left side, past the mini dining area. Bring your mask they have bouncers.

Staff is always friendly, courteous, and helpful. Store is clean and organized. May cost a little more than the competitor in Damascus, but well worth every penny

The staff is helpful and respectful. The store is clean and well stocked. The fresh fruits and vegetables are of good quality. I shop there regularly and I recommend this store to my friends.

This is a grocery store with class! The staff are attentive and helpful, always willing to answer questions. They have a great produce and deli section and lots of variety.

This store is about a mile from my house and is very convenient. The people are friendly and helpful, and the store is clean and well-lit. On just a couple of occasions have I not found what I'm looking for on the shelf; usually they have exactly what I want.

Whoever runs their website should be shot, however -- they have the store hours as 8 am - 12 pm. Twelve pm is NOON, you idiot. The store is NOT only open for four hours a day! You mean 12 *am*, which is midnight. But even that's wrong, because according to their recorded message when you call for the store hours, they're only open until 11 pm. So you have it wrong *two* ways! Can someone please fix this? The website will tell you the store is closed because it's 5 pm and it thinks the store closed at noon!

The Safeway in Damascus, Md is unique among Safeway Stores. Many of them are rundown, dirty and have no staff working in any of the dept after 3pm. However Damascus Safeway is amazing, the asst mgr of the store is always there to assist, even if it's to bag groceries, truly old school! Only go to Damascus Safeway!
