The Big Greek Cafe

This was our first time at The Big Greek Cafe. Amazing!!!

No one was in the dining area so it was nice and quiet. We dine in. They had great upbeat music playing. As we waited for our food, it seems like this place does a lot of carry out orders. I ordered the Moussaka entree (sides: Greek salad and Greek potatoes). My husband ordered the gyro and spanakopita. The front staff brought our food to our table. As we sat and ate more and more customers started coming in. The food and service was spectacular. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic food!!! The pita was one of the best I have ever had. The food you can tell is also made fresh. The woman Anne working the front counter was literally so hospitable, she offered things and made suggestions to the menu to fit my picky eater! Wish I would have found out about it sooner!

Great food! Brings back memories of my times in Greece! Despite the fact they don’t have the “Peasant Salad”, it is well worth your time to visit and partake of what they have to offer.

We have driven past the Big Greek Cafe numerous times and today was the day we stopped in for a meal. Outstanding customer service, clean bathrooms and well kept restaurant. The food was outstanding. Great value and serving size and quality. We will be back again soon. The Gyros are on point.

Good variety of dishes. Everything we had tasted great. Highly recommend grabbing a slice of Baklava Cheesecake if you have the room.

Favorite new lunch spot in Urbana! The portions are massive, the food is tasty, and the staff is fantastic! There hasn't been a gathering of Greeks this godly since Mount Olympus - go feast!

I've visited this spot a few times and I always enjoy the food. I usually get their gyros, but I've also had their calamari which was good for the price. No fishy flavors and not overcooked. The potatoes are tangy, the fries are pretty good, and the portions are big enough to justify their prices. Did I mention the real feta cheese?

I will say the food can a bit on the salty side for some, but that comes with the territory.

Employees are always nice and my order has always been correct. Wait times aren't too long but don't be afraid to sit down, if you catch my drift.

Overall, this is one of my local go to spots. Doesn't disappoint.

Went tonight and had the Gyro, Fries, Spanakopita and the Greek salad. All of it was excellent!! Fresh hot and BIG portions. Great service!!

My son and I went in here recently. I haven't had a Greek pita since I was in Greece a few years ago. We both thought the food here was excellent... fresh and flavorful. Price was very reasonable, and service was very good, friendly folks. We def will go back. It's a welcome change from the same o'l same ol' places.

The Big Greek Cafe is wonderful. I love their falafel bowl, which comes with a side of really tasty pita bread done just right. Everything is very flavorful and fresh, and the portions are generous. The staff are always friendly every time I’ve been in. Food made to order, but doesn’t take very long at all. The big greek bowl pictured here has falafel as the protein. It has layers of fresh lettuce, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, and a nice serving of white rice in the bottom. Love the spicy hummus and tzatziki on top. A great addition to the area!

The food is so great here. Love it all spanakopita Greek chicken salad kabobs salmon. You can’t go wrong. I wish they had one in Northern Virginia.

Definitely shocked with how good the food tasted. The restraunt feels like a generic take and go restraunt when you walk in, with some generic chill edm for music.

However, the food tastes amazing. The Big Greek Feast was a bunch of food, and was all delicious and tender. My partner got the crispy flounder and said it was outstanding. And the fries are perfect. We ate in, and ended up leaving with 2 boxes of leftovers.

Despite living an hour away, we will definitely be back.

I ate here for the first time yesterday and their food is AMAZING!!!! Definitely will be back and probably a frequent customer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We have gotten take out from here a few times now. It is always good! We love the spanakopita and highly recommend it!

Have ordered twice from here and each time the food is bangin!! The traditional gyro is out of this world and the french fries may be some of the best I’ve ever had. Kudos to this spot!

Delicious. We got the famous gyro pita. For a chain restaurant, it was fantastic.

Good food, and consistently good. Have gotten gyros, both chicken and pork souvlakis, pastitsio, etc. Fries are good. Desserts are really good, try the baklava cheesecake (which I just had the leftover of with my coffee this morning). My sister and I do online orders regularly here. Friendly, pleasant staff.

I can't believe this place is a chain. I had the gyro bowl. Absolutely delicious. Enough for 2 full meals. The pita served with it was hot and delicious too. Food was cooked to order. Just wow.

I cannot say enough about how amazing this place was. The food is so delicious and the multitude of options are great. I was grateful to find rice, steamed veggies, and even vegetarian options as well as deserts. This place is by far one of the cleanest, healthiest, tastiest places I've been. Only downside? None in PA or upstate NY near Albany. I'll be thinking about this falafel for a long time until I come through MD again.

The place is laid back and the food is really good! We go maybe three times a month. My husband loves their Grape Leaves and I always get the chicken and rice platter.
