Our first visit to Le Quai was within weeks of opening. Absolutely fabulous. Hard to believe since then they've polished this gem so it shines even brighter. Example - an extensive and exceptional wine list. Since losing Provence, Chez Nous and other French restaurants this is the finest French prepared recipes we've had since Paris. I could go on and on but my recommendation is go, meet Robert and enjoy great atmosphere, conversation and of course a true French Bistro dining experience.

The one time in the past year that we have been able to have a child free date night, we chose here, and couldn’t have been happier. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and charming. I wasn’t expecting someone to be formally trained on how to pour wine down to the tiny details in the middle of Waterford, New York, but here she was. It’s been too long since I’ve had a proper French meal, and they did not disappoint. The food was exquisite. When the next opportunity presents itself, I’ll be stopping in again.

Very nice experience. Menu is smallish but I could have ordered 4 things without reservation. Speaking of which, book ahead. Wine list was comprehensive. My scallops were perfect. The Moroccan chicken was delicious. Cozy. The owner and our server were very attentive. Adding this place to our rotation.

Absolutely, hands down one of the best spots I have ever been to! The duck was soooo tender and full of flavor! The apple and cranberry with it made the dish an explosion of flavor. I am completely impressed with the whole experience here. 100% recommended and will be back.

If you're looking for an authentic French dining experience in the Capital Region, look no further than Le Quai Bistrot Français. From the moment you walk in the door, you're transported to a cozy bistro in Paris, with a Moroccan touch, with charming decor and warm lighting that sets the mood perfectly for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends.

One of the highlights of our meal at Le Quai Bistrot Français was undoubtedly the wine list. The selection of French wines was extensive and impressive, and our server Robert was extremely knowledgeable about each one. We were able to find the perfect bottle to pair with our meal, which really enhanced the overall experience.

As for the food, every dish we tried was outstanding. For our appetizer, we ordered the escargot, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The garlic butter cognac mushroom sauce was rich and flavorful, and we couldn't help but sop it up with slices of crusty baguette.

For our entrees, I opted for the braised lamb shank, while my wife went with the veal. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, with tender, juicy meat that practically melted in our mouths. The accompanying sides were equally delicious, from the creamy mashed potatoes to the sautéed vegetables.

Throughout our meal, the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making us feel right at home. And despite the upscale atmosphere and high-quality food, the prices were quite reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of the experience.

Overall, we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience at Le Quai Bistrot Français. From the exceptional wine list to the delicious food and impeccable service, it's clear that this restaurant takes pride in every aspect of the dining experience. Whether you're a Francophile or just looking for a great meal, we highly recommend giving Le Quai Bistrot Français a try.

I had the pleasure to take my lovely wife out on a date night here a Le Quai. Mo, chef and owner of the restaurant asked if we would want to come to a soft opening of his restaurant... I took him up on his offer and I'm glad we did.

Mo has been all over the world and has learned alot over time and brings his knowledge and experience to his restaurant and with his dishes he prepares. The menu will change on a continual bases due to everything is fresh. His menu will be posted by Tuesday every week on his Facebook page. He's only open Wednesday thru Saturdays from 5 till 9.

Parking for the restaurant is along the street, as well as a parking lot across the street.

The restaurant is very quaint and elegant. It has that Bistro appeal with soft music and dim lighting. You are greeted at the door and sat. Served with bagettes and pâté. We order from his very nice elegant assortment of wines. A Red Blend from Portagul.

We order French onion soup and the aspargus salad for our appetizers. The French Onion soup was to die for!! Perfect in everyway...Not to sweet, not watered down or to thick...the beef broth was all homemade and brillant to the taste buds. The Asapargus salad was pleasantly simple but exploded with taste. Nice citrus favor and the asapargus was fresh.

The main course...she had Poulet Marocain (Chicken Tagine) with vegetable couscous. I had the Jarret d'Agneau (Lamb Shank) with mixed vegetables in a beef broth sauce. Both meats were so tender, you literally just used your fork. It came apart that easily and melted in your mouth.

Dessert was the cherry on top! Tarte tatin and Creme brulee. Tarte tatin is a classic apple tarts (tartes aux pommes) usually come in pretty crusts, sometimes filled with “compote” (apple sauce) or frangipane (almond cream), are topped with neat apple slivers, baked to golden perfection and often finished up with a shiny apple or apricot glaze. The apples were crisp and tart. (explaination off of the web) The Creme brulee was cooked to perfection.... The melted sugar cracked with the gentle tap of the spoon and the custard was elegant to taste.

So if you are looking for a new experience and help support a NEW Local restaurant for a nice date night with the wife or girlfriend. I would defiantly recommend coming to Le Quai!

Thank you Mo for allowing us to experience this very special occasion. We will be coming back. Congrats on your new endeavor!

We've been here many times since this restaurant opened. Never have we been dissatisfied by the quality of the French dishes, service or atmosphere. It is nice to visit a restaurant where the food is freshly prepared and you are not rushed. Like European experiences you have time to enjoy the meal and spend quality time in dinner conversation. Each course is prepared with perfection and care.

Omg this place is amazing. The owner is so humble! He seated and had us taste a fabulous French wine. PHENOMENAL. The food...**chefs kiss** I got the lamb and it was so tender! Falling off the bone! Perfectly marinated. It came with veggies. Everything was Devine. My husband got the chicken. So savory. Seasoned to Perfection. The staff was timely and kind. Very professional. It was a great experience. A hidden gem. I will be bringing all of my girlfriends here. 💕

My husband and I finally tried this place last night, and it is already one of my top favorite places! We cannot wait to go back. They were able to squeeze a last minute reservation in for us on a busy night, and were so welcoming. I enjoyed the small, old world ambiance. The food is outstanding! Delicious and creative appetizers, great wine list....and the entrees were phenomenal! Well portioned and flavorful....cannot say enough good things!

Every bite was delicious, we will be back in a different season to try a different menu. Be prepared, this is NOT fast food. Dishes seem to be prepared to order and it will take about 2 hours for appetizer, main and dessert. But you’re here to enjoy food and conversation with the staff, not eat and run. They were more than happy to discuss wine pairings and choices.

I really can't say enough good things about Le Quai. Service was impeccable. I went with the escargot and a duck main dish featuring local cherries. The escargot was served with a mushroom fricaseé with cognac creme. I'm still thinking about it.

My dinner companions are a discerning bunch, and they had nothing but glowing things to say. Nice wine list, exemplary execution from the kitchen. I can't wait to go back!

If I could give another star, I would. Thanks for a perfect meal, chef.

Such a wonderful evening at Le Quai. Fresh products, great chef and impeccable service. Being a Montrealer I know a bit about good cuisine and le Quai meets the highest standards. Scallops cooked to perfection, tasty sauce and a remarkable wine list. Lamb was excellent and generous. Highly recommended.

My partner and I came here last night, looking for something different from what we've been having for a long while. Le Quai delivered above and beyond what we were looking for. I had the duck, which was perfectly cooked with a delicious Madeira sauce, and both pieces of duck had the best crispy skin. My partner got the hangar steak (my French is terrible, so I don't recall the exact name), and the sommelier helped him pick the ideal wine pairing, which also went well with the dessert we shared (Fondant au Chocolat). The prices were what I expected for the quality of the food we received, and both our waitress and the sommelier were the correct level of attentiveness, and were both willing and able to answer the questions my partner and I had regarding menu items.

Because of the size of their dining area, it's strongly recommended to call ahead and make a reservation. We arrived for a 7PM reservation and, while it was quiet when we first arrived, it filled up about half an hour into our visit.

My partner and I will definitely be back.

My 3rd visit and it is till the tops. If you want to try escargot for the 1st time, this is the place to do it. Entres are generous . Desserts serve 2. Very comfortable surroundings. A real white tablecloth restaurant.

From the minute we entered until we left, Le Quai was a great experience. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming. One of the staff, Robert, overheard us discussing wine and gave us the interesting history of 2 wine selections that were outstanding.
Our waitress, Elizabeth, was friendly and knowledgeable.
The food was excellent. My escargot appetizer was baked in a delicious puff pastry surrounded by fresh mushrooms in a garlic sauce. My main was a lightly dusted and pan fried fluke fish with roast potatoes and vegetables. Delicious.
Others in our party had an excellent vichyssoise soup appetizer, and thoroughly enjoyed the lamb shank, the coquille st. Jacques, and a delightful Moroccan chicken dish.
Finally, both the Creme Brulee and pear tart with vanilla ice cream topped off a night of great French dining.
Waterford has not been known for fine dining. That is now officially changed.

My husband and I tried out Le Quai Bistrot Français in Waterford tonight. The ambiance, food, and staff were all incredible! We tried the pate, lamb, and duck. Everything was delicious, but the duck with cherries and apples was out of this world! My husband especially loved the butter that was served with (warm!) bread. I’m hoping this will be our date night spot for many years to come!

This is an excellent place for a nice, relaxed meal with friends and family. The menu is varied and adventurous. I opted for the rabbit dish but there was also a tajine that I'll try the next time I go there. My meal was prepared perfectly and everything else, from the beer selection, the wines and even the bread and spread were at the same level. This is definitely worth a special trip to Waterford.

Amazing experience! From the ambience, the menu, the desserts, the wines, right down to the service - incredible all around. Our server Robert had an encyclopedic knowledge of the wine list and helped pair our selection to our dinner choices. An incredible dessert wine helped wrap up a meal I can't wait to replicate - we'll be back soon and often!
