R & D Excavating

We recently purchased a modular home and R & D Excavating did all the site work including the clearing of land, grading, foundation, topsoil, seeding and covering with straw. Rich and his crew also did our entire road and driveway, drainage, septic system and trenching for water & electricity.

Rich and his crew did an excellent job and Rich was always on the job working with his crew. Rich and his crew were always helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating.

Rich was always available to answer questions or explain the process. Rich will be my first call for any work I need in the future.

We've worked on & off with Rich for nearly 3 years and highly recommend him. He has consistently done excellent work for us, including the foundation for our home, all the rough & finish grading (including seeding & haying), driveway, drainage, septic system, service trenching (water & electric), pier installation for an outdoor deck, snow clearing as well as mowing & brush hogging. Rich is a very experienced operator with extensive experience in heavy civil construction and a keen eye for topography. He cares deeply about ensuring the job is done correctly (which at times necessitates waiting for the right weather conditions to help avoid issues & excess time/hours billed for the job). We've heeded his advice multiple times and do not regret it!

Rich was awesome as was his crew. They went above and beyond what was required to replace my failed septic tank. Highly recommended!

NEVER USE THIS GUY HE'S A NIGHTMARE i was building a house in harpersfield and started in 2019 They did my foundation and didn't have any problems he then did my septic system and after a little delay he did the job never planted grass on the leach field i had to do it the next year i was having a problem and a diff contractor said the system never worked it wasn't wired correctly Rich never bothered to check the next year i had water RUNNING into my basement he did get to it after a few months he said it was not a big deal after he finished the septic system he was supposed to do my landscaping remove trees, grade the land and place some bluestone etc... he never got to that and said i'll be the FIRST of 2020 2020 comes around and he claims COVID not sure how that effected anything then i'll be the FIRST of 21 haha after months of calls and me taking days off from work and him not showing up he finally did start the french drains that were supposed to be installed in 19 he dug a trench my insurance company said it needs to be completed it not safe to this date from 2019 he still hasn't filled in the trench removed any trees graded my property so now i walk on mud for 3 years he gives every excuse in the book i don't work weekends weather is too wet Mud (he uses that one a lot) personal reason etc.. and NEVER keeps his word Buy a shovel and do the job yourself before you hire this guy
