Oh. My. Word. I’m so sad it took us this long to find this place. The food is INCREDIBLE. We got a turkey leg, catfish, the chicken pasta, red beans, cabbage, and boudin. Every single one of us enjoyed every bite (well, what we could finish. The portions are huge!) The bread pudding is easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t wait to try more of the menu. We will absolutely be back!

I've spent a lot of time in Louisiana and is where I fell in love with Cajun food. LJz is absolutely the best in town. I had the catfish bayou with red beans and rice. My wife had the shrimp and catfish combo. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back soon.

This last trip I got blackened catfish with crawfish etoufee; fried catfish with red beans, rice and andouille sausage; gator bites.

Some of the best etoufee I have ever had in my life. And I say this with having family and deep ties to Louisiana. Dirty red beans and rice and boudin links were amazing as well. Extremely friendly service. I enjoyed sitting on the deck even as hot outside as it is right now. I will be back and 100% recommend!

We came here for the first time today, and when I say that absolutely everything was amazing I am not overselling it. Boudin balls, fried gator, “dirty red” (red beans and sausage over dirty rice), crawfish etoufee, crawfish mac and cheese? All delicious. Everything tasted so fresh! Will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely AMAZING service. We didn’t know and came in 30 minutes after closing and they still made us feel so welcomed and the food was DELICIOUS! HIGHLY recommend coming here ❤

This is such a hidden gem! I’m so thankful we saw the articles about it, we will definitely be back. The food was absolutely phenomenal! The restaurant itself was absolutely precious and setup nicely. The prices were actually affordable, which is hard to find these days. They were pretty busy, but the guy that answered the phone still took his time telling me about their menu and was so kind. A woman from the back brought our food out when it was ready and she was also so friendly. I had read that they may have a longer wait time since a few recent articles have brought more customers, so we placed our order ahead of time just in case. But even so, they were pretty fast! It only took about 25 minutes (We only waited about 5 minutes once we got there) to get our food made and we ordered a whole lot! Even when we added some last minute desserts, it didn’t seem to slow things down. We did have to call a couple of times to get through and place our to go order, but that’s to be expected at a small restaurant with only a few employees during dinner rush. So, I’d just say to give it a few minutes and call again if you don’t get through the first time. The food is well worth some patience and a second call, I promise!

LJ'z Backyard Bayou was just the meal I needed. I ordered dirty rice, cabbage, and pork/turkey neck bones—absolutely delicious!

I drove quite a ways to try this place and the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. These people care about their establishment and it shows. You can taste the love in the food, and the service is top notch. Bayou catfish is fantastic and the boudin balls awesome as well. I actually got emotional eating the cabbage side as it was just like my aunty Lou’s. Will definitely be coming back

I love this place! The owners are very engaging, and the food is amazing! I had the stuffed shrimp with crawfish mac & cheese and cabbage as my sides. It was so good that I got a plate of sides to go. This place is very busy and the food is made to order so you will have a bit of a wait for your food to come out. Trust me, it's worth the wait!

We called ahead, and they had it ready for pickup. There is a drive through on the right side of the building.
They also had inside and patio seating available.

Went here on 4/28 and was impressed and satisfied on all accounts. Food was immaculate, service was fast, and the atmosphere was very appropriate for the “home-cooking” Cajun food that was served.

I would highly recommend to anyone to go here and get food if you’re looking for authentic Cajun food. I have not been anywhere better than LJz.

Great service and great food! We had cajun crafish by the pound, swamp potato and the bayou fish and it was all delicious! They are the nicest owners who welcome you with open arms and make sure you leave full and happy! Thanks for providing amazing creole food!

Another great meal at LJz! Every bite was delicious! I had fish and shrimp❤the breading is light and crispy and perfectly seasoned. My sides were potato salad and fried corn! Seasoning is always spot on! And the owners are such great people! They love what they do and it shows in every aspect of this place, the food, the porch and the music!

We got the Seafood Pasta and Cajun potato they were the specials for that day and man was it good, no joke. This place is legitimate and I would highly recommend for anyone wanting some brilliantly seasoned amazingly tasteful food. We’ll be going back for sure!

I was staying in Huntsville afew nights and used Google to see what my restaurant options were and found this place. It's about a 30 minute drive from Huntsville kind of in the middle of nowhere but well worth the drive

Everything was GREAT. the only downside would be that they don't have fresh sweet tea (only bottled tea) but the friendly service & great food more than made up for it.

This place is a hidden gem! My sister and I are foodies and always on a "food crawl". We were both pleasantly surprised at the taste of all the food we ordered. Will recommend and we will be returning. I had the "Sunday special"- shrimp 'n grits with fried fish and beingets. Crayfish mac(my true and only complaint is is wish it was more cheesy-BUT it did taste good), boudin, gator bites, cabbage, turkey wing.. all so tasty!

This place is AMAZING !! All the way around. Food, service, atmosphere !! The owners are absolutely the sweetest people. The potato salad is my favorite!! Been 2 times, will be going more often.
