I recently dined at Tupelo Honey and had an incredible experience that left me thoroughly impressed. As someone born and raised in Louisiana, I have high standards when it comes to Southern cuisine, and Tupelo Honey did not disappoint.

I started with the Sausage and Beer Gumbo, which was a flavorful and hearty introduction to the meal. The gumbo had just the right balance of spices and richness, making it as good, if not better, than what I’d expect from a local Louisiana restaurant.

For the main course, I chose the Smothered Chicken. This dish featured boneless and skinless honey-dusted fried chicken thighs, topped with milk gravy and basil. The chicken was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The combination of the honey dust and milk gravy created a unique and delicious flavor profile that I absolutely loved.

My sides were the red beans and rice and their super awesome baked mac and cheese. The red beans and rice were exceptional, with a depth of flavor that transported me back to my favorite Louisiana spots. The baked mac and cheese was a delightful comfort food, creamy and cheesy with a satisfying baked crust.

Overall, every dish I tried was really good, and I was particularly impressed by how well they captured the essence of Louisiana cuisine. This was freaking awesome, and I loved every moment of my meal at Tupelo Honey. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Southern food!

The service was great, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere is nice! We both had the whiskey onion smash burger which was amazing, as were the fried green tomatoes. I love the biscuits with blueberries and butter they bring upon arrival!

Was looking and nothing in particular wanted to eat but so happy found this great place. We sat outside, since it was a nice day.
The service was great.
Loved the glasses our drinks came in.
I ordered the sliders with fries but the kitchen did a burger instead.
My son got the chicken fingers and fries.
Both dishes were fabulous!!!!
Will save this place to come back to if back in the area.

The location is nice. The environment is welcoming. The food was fresh and delicious. For appetizer, we had the fried green tomatoes, and it came on a bed of grits. For my entree; I had the Smoked Salmon Grit Cake and a fried hard egg. If you don’t like raw salmon, this is not the dish for you. I will visit again when I’m in town.

Tupelo Honey was well worth the wait! We did not make reservations (highly recommend it because it is quite busy) but we were able to walk around the local shops while waiting. I believe we waited around 45 minutes which the hostess was fully transparent with before waiting. We ordered the Shrimp & Grits, Ginger Beer, and the Mountain Morning Bowl. Everything was wonderful and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We definitely would recommend it!

When we planned our mini vacation to Chattanooga I had Tupelo on my list of places to eat. When we got there, there was a 15 minute wait for our party of 4 (not bad at all). My husband got the fried chicken with greens and a side of the andouille red beans and rice. He said that is the best fried chicken he has ever eaten. I tasted it and it was juicy and perfect! Seasoning was delicious. I ordered the shrimp po boy with the rosemary potatoes. Another win! The blackened seasoned shrimp were perfection. My son got the potato crusted chicken tenders with the 3 different dipping sauces and a side of the Mac and cheese. I tried his tenders and they were so juicy and flavorful as well. My daughter got the waffles and bacon and she was very happy. The food was amazing and our waitress was the best (I wish I could remember her name! We were there Saturday for lunch and she had a red plaid shirt on and had curly blonde-ish colored hair.. Tracy maybe? 🤔) she was so sweet and attentive. We can’t wait to come back again!

Tupelo Honey is by far one of my favorite restaurants! The food NEVER disappoints! My fiance and I had such a nice time visiting this location in Chattanooga. The parking lot is very spacious, so easy to park and get in. The area around it so nice to explore. Our waitress was so nice and helpful. I got the pork shoulder with sriracha sauce (spicy but the good kind) and my fiance got the chicken BLT. We started off with biscuits and fried pickles. Make sure to read the menu carefully because I have a shellfish allergy and a lot of the fried foods are cooked in oil that has been exposed to shellfish. Before i had my shellfish allergy I was able to try their shrimp and grits. That used to be my favorite. Sad I can't get it anymore. Definitely come here!

I always enjoy going to Tupelo Honey. Their food and drinks always taste great. It's very easy to make reservations at their restaurants (Asheville and Chattanooga). One of my personal favorites is their meatloaf. I had a salad on my recent visit and highly recommend it.

Spent the weekend in Chattanooga and honestly think this meal was one of the highlights!!!

We went on a super busy Saturday night, but they were able to give us a realistic wait time and the bar was real close to an outdoor area of theirs to enjoy the sunshine while we waited.
Started off with fried pickles, gumbo soup and the “biscuit for the cause”. We didn’t leave a crumb - everything was so flavorful without being over the top.
The steak bistro and potatoes loaded were excellent, the salmon was super crispy and yummy, but flaky inside. Kiddo had a waffle that she ate nearly every bite of(rare!).

Finished off with Banana Puddin’ which was yummy but not how mama makes it ;) still yummy though.

The pay by phone option was super easy. Wish more people did this.

Great Spot Highly recommend 🥩🍯🍛🍮🥒🥔

I am a simple place, simple food kind a guy and most of the time when my adult kids choose the restaurant I end up not liking the place. However Tupelo Honey does a great job of NOT over upscaleing the food. Our server, Victoria, was wonderful.

The atmosphere was nice, the waiter was very nice and the food tasted great. The only negative is the price. I have never been anywhere where you paid $20 for a Caesar Salad with chicken, and it wasn't that large of a portion. Like I said though, the food was good.

The chicken & biscuit with bacon OMG was sooooo delicious 😋 I usually don’t like gravy on my chicken but this milk gravy was Thee best ever!!!! My partner had a skillet that he devoured in about 60 seconds flat!! Awesome food & service.

We had a great time, service great, our server was good and the guy that helped her out a few times was great, but most impressive was the back of house. Our food was great, we enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the deserts. Only down side was the bar is being remodeled and so they only had beer and wine and no cocktails. We had the fried green tomatoes which were phenomenal(sorry no pic), I highly recommend. My daughter had kids grilled cheese and Mac and cheese. My dad had the smothered chicken and waffles with fries(fries are bomb) and Mac cheese. My mom had the harvest bowl which was really good and I typically don’t like that kind of thing but it had great flavor. Wife had fried chicken and waffles. I had the bistro filet with cheddar mashed potatoes and a side of Mac and cheese. I’m a connoisseur of Mac and cheese and it’s good here but not the best I’ve had, I wish it was a little creamy but it’s still enjoyable. Pecan pie and banana pudding for desert, both excellent but sorry no photos of desert as we couldn’t stop from eating long enough to take any pics. This is a great southern meal elevated to higher class and it’s done very well. A little expensive but not too bad and worth it.

My wife and I had lunch there today for the first time. Our waitress was Bailey and she was great. I got the Chicken BLT sandwich with crispy fries and my wife got the Avocado Bacon with Havarti on whole grain bread with smashed fried potatoes. My sandwich and fries were good and my wife told me that her meal was delicious. The atmosphere was great and so was the service.

The food was absolutely delish, but the service was most definitely over the top! We went 2 days in a row for lunch and had the utmost experience both times.

This probably the best chicken and waffles I have ever had!!!! The boneless chicken skin was crispy and the inside was juicy. They add their own "honey dust" seasoning or something and it really made a difference. The waffles were good but its not that hard to mess up waffles lol. It did come with a sorta steep price point though (~$17) but it was honestly worth it.

I came during lunch on Thursday and did not have to wait at all, so many tables. Our waitress was super friendly!

Stumbled upon this spot while visiting from Memphis. We have great spots for chicken and waffles across Memphis and Nashville. However, I will say hands down this is the best chicken and waffles I had all my life. I will recommend anyone to try out the Siracha chicken and a nice cup of coffee!
I will visiting again very soon! Thank you for the great service and food.
