Plate 88

We've been excited to visit this relatively new place for months. Pioneer is only a 10 minute drive up the mountain (North on Hwy CA88 from Pune Grove). Impressed from the moment we pulled into a recently renovated campus consisting of a motel & the restaurant. Clean and fresh were my first thoughts as my grandson & I parked comfortably in the front. Upon entering, "Dining" was our destination as we proceeded forward, passing a sign for "Bar" to our right. It was a Friday late afternoon, and the festive yet contolled libation was underway as the end of the week celebrating was underway. Happiness surrounded us as we proceeded down the hallway to our dining destination. We were there for a late lunch, knowing we missed the busy time hours before. Greeted pleasantly and seated right away to dig into the menu that had many appetizing and familiar names. We kept it simple... we were there for "fries and milkshakes." These were our go-to when rating grandson approval destinations. Unfortunately, our host informed us right away that "shakes" were part of their future plans but not available at this time. No problem, my grandson reviewed his kids' menu, I the adults', Fish 'n Chips were chosen by both of us. Huge portions were served to us rapidly, and we indulged our time in glee; outstanding food. Our service was friendly, informed us well with answers to our questions, and shared in neighborly conversation that reminds us why we like this area so much.
The atmosphere was clean, beautiful, and inviting. There's a newness to our surroundings with an obvious attention to detail. Great view of a meadow surrounded by a Pine tree Forrest. Again, it seemed fresh and peaceful, gazing out the windows anticipating the 4 seasons of change. We talked about returning and bringing the family with us; the breakfast menu looked intriguing! Prices were average, maybe on the high side, but isn't everything these dates.

I absolutely love this place. Ive been there twice, i can only speak to breakfast, Phenomenal.. The Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. I cant wait to try lunch or dinner next.

Great food, awesome service and we loved dining on the patio with our doggie! Perfect for our early dinner with friends. Excellent atmosphere. We loved our servers and the food was very good.

I have ordered several meals from here for take out and I have never been disappointed. Good food, reasonable prices (especially for the portion size - it’s enough to share), everyone is always friendly and quick to help. There is plenty of parking, and in my few pick ups, it seems lively and fun. The back deck faces a beautiful grassy area lined by trees that looks like a great outdoor dining spot. I would definitely recommend it. I wish I had pictures to share but I didn’t think about it at the time. The loaded tater tots were really good, and the chicken Alfredo was delicious. I really enjoyed the loaded Mac and cheese as well. Next time I order I’ll try to update my review.

Indoor/outdoor seating options. We chose outdoor. The setting is beautiful. The service is good. It was my 3rd time visiting this place and we are now 3/3 in overall quality and experience.

We went for dinner tonight and not only was the service amazing (thank you CieCie) but the food was delicious!! My son devoured his chicken and alfredo and the rest of us cleaned our plates! Everything was fresh and let me tell you about the RANCH DRESSING 🤤🔥🔥🔥 it is homemade, and I’m not talking about opening a packet and adding milk 😂 amazing, can’t wait to go back and support this family business that obviously LOVES their craft!

The special pasta salad with grilled chicken and the balsamic drizzle was awsome! Kayla, our waitress, was perfect! We happened to have run into her a few days ago up at Bear River Reservoir. She was very nice and an excellent waitress! My hubsand had the omlette with veggies, sausage, and cheese. He substituted the toast for the hash browns. It was all cooked perfect. We both had ice tea to drink. I have been to this place many times. I highly recommend this place!

Great experience at Plate 88. After a day in the sun, it was a perfect way to end the day. Food was great and the service was even better. Highly recommended it.

I had the honey Sriracha crispy chicken it was cooked to perfection not a chinsy sandwich with the most wonderful French fries crispy.
Prices are very reasonable. A lot of choices I will be back there's a lot more to try.

1st time, service great, server friendly and accommodating. Food good.
Ceiling fan could have been turned a notch lower, cooled our Food immediately.

Since the transfer of ownsership and the massive investment in renovations, Plate 88 and the Hotel have really shaped up to be a great place for tourists and locals.

Wonderful food, service was a bit slow, but that could be because we were the last family there before they closed. Fsh and chips are the best in the area

Food is really good. They also have fun things. Follow them in facebook. You will get to see their food and activities. I love the sip and paintings.

Had to wait to be seated even though there was only 1 other couple. Staff stood and chatted while checking their phones. Finally took our order. Food was good and tasty once we got it.

We brought a friend for breakfast. It was great. Quality food and clean restaurant. Service was great.

This is a fabulous place to have a delicious meal. We went and had dinner recently and the meal was perfectly prepared. I ordered the salmon on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with mixed veggies. We also ordered ordered the chicken burgundy which was delicious. Service was courteous and helpful. We will definitely be back again for dinner and are looking forward to having breakfast on our next visit. We are locals and are very pleased to have a nice restaurant that’s excellent and nearby.

Great place to stop!
Salmon salad was excellent and the cheese bread served with it was yummy too.
My husband’s burger and onion rings were delicious too!
Server was really friendly and efficient.
I would highly recommend this restaurant!

What a gem! My son and I were camping and after visiting a cavern, we found this place; lovely atmosphere but our causal (and slightly dusty) attire was welcome. Our waitress was delightful, and we got terrific food at really good prices. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

We had the 88 breakfast and it’s was so good. My husband always asks for over medium eggs and they were perfect. This is huge because he rarely gets them done the way he likes. Portions are very generous, I couldn’t finish all of mine. The people were friendly and attentive. I’m looking forward to going back again.
