Children shopping carts. That's why my kiddos love this store. I love it for its variety and convince! Sandwhich always hits the spot too.

Love this place . A little hidden gem in Pioneer California . The staff is friendly and amazing people. Love the vibe of this place and the people in the area are so friendly.

This place does Boar's Head sandwiches and carries Boar's Head with extreme variety of boar's head products

They also barbecue every Friday Saturday and Sunday they do roasted chickens and amazing BBQ tri-tip as well it's a Beautiful drive up to this place as well.

Prices are higher then you would pay "normally" but let's for not having the purchasing power of bigger retail stores and being all the way up here some of that has to be expected. Employees are all friendly and helpful. It's a great little neighborhood grocery store that has just about everything and a great deli too

I parked outside of the store right near closing time. Happened to see the manager and asked if it would be alright if I parked in their lot (it was snowing all over and I didn't think it'd be safe for me to drive without chains). He showed me a spot and asked if I was just waiting for someone. Told him I was probably just going to sleep in my car and wait out the storm until the morning. He recommended I not do that, because freezing to death is bad (he didn't say that exactly but that's effectively what was communicated). They let me come in and use the phone to call the hotel down the road and setup a reservation (I didn't have any phone service). He said he also had an old pair of snow chains and asked me if I'd like them. I agreed and paid for them. Since the store was closing I went outside to move my car and put on the chains. The manager offered to help me put on the chains (I had never done it before) and helped give me directions to the hotel I was staying at. He even printed out an address and some pictures. Top notch service. The staff went above and beyond.

I'm very happy to have this grocery store near me. The produce is awesome! It's nice to drive a few minutes to get things when I need it.

Hey, grocery stores make most of their money on packaged & boxed items, not produce and meat. It's easy to look to Dollar General for these things, but I ask that you think twice at least half the time.

There was a Vice News episode on Dollar General popping up all over rural towns and putting grocery stores out of business. The people they interviewed didn't realize that they were putting their grocery stores out of business by buying only produce & meat at the grocery store & getting boxed goods at Dollar General. It's more expensive to carry meat and produce, and boxed goods are supposed to offset the loss, which is why they can't compete with Dollar General on these things. Dollar General made a wise business decision to only stock low maintenance, money making items. But they definitely don't have your best interests at heart!

Many rural towns across the US lost access to healthy, fresh food as a result. Let's not join that statistic.

I absolutely love shopping at Youth's Payless Market in Pioneer. Everyone is incredibly nice and helpful. I don't mind spending extra money at the market. You won't find anyone else at any grocery store as fantastic as all of the employees here. And it's so convenient for me to drive only 5 minutes away!!

Always a pleasant shopping experience. Great wine selection, too. I was saddened that the County supervisors let Dollar General put a store close to this quaint, local market. The quality and service realized at Payless Market will, hopefully, be fully realized as it is the opposite of Dollar General's overall poor quality of items. SHOP LOCAL!

Great meat, produce, and customer service! Alot of gourmet food you wouldn't expect from a small mountain town grocery store. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. If you are on your way to Nevada on Hwy 88 it's a great place to stop and get some yummy stuff from the deli. GREAT sandwiches made while you wait. Pioneer is a beautiful place to take a lunch break!

This is the place to get all of your needs in Pioneer. Their meat counter, fruits and veggies, beer and wine selection are second to none for a small local grocery store. The staff is super friendly and always helpful. They’ve also got propane. We choose our local IGA over any other store because they have always been here to support their local upcountry community.

Don’t waste your time driving to Jackson if you live in pine grove or pioneer. This store has everything the larger stores have at the same or better price. This store for every dollar spent gives back $0.68 to the community. This is not the norm. Most stores take more than they give back with the average being about $0.43 cents given back for every $1 spent. Also, the deli has a sandwich you have to try, it’s called the Koda. Trust me on this one!

I have shopped here since 2004, though the prices are a bit high compared to the big brand stores in Jackson, for me if I only need a few things this is where I go. Usually works out well as it takes approx. 10.00 in gas to go to Jackson. They often have good sales. I have always found the staff to be courteous and kind. The store has a good variety of products and I am grateful they are here. Saves the hour and a half round trip to Jackson.

We have shopped here for over 20 years, under 3 different managements, and love this store. The prices are a little over the mega store levels but not much. The people who work here are consistently friendly and courteous. We have never had a bad experience here.

I'm giving IGA a five star. Some stuff in the store is high priced but the meat department makes up for it. Professionally nice people. Reflects well on the manager.

Great little stop for those traveling to Kirkwood resort or Lake Tahoe. The burgers are handmade and freshly grilled. The beer is cold and cheaper then the resorts.
