Great ice cream, super-cool atmosphere! They have so many flavors to choose from, even dairy and gluten-free options! A very inviting place, and the antique decor makes me feel like I'm in an old-school diner. The line moves super quick, and I had the best milkshake of my life! I will definitely be coming here again. They even have another location on the Luther College campus that is open to the public that offers coffee, sandwiches, and ice cream! A hidden gem, for sure.

Sugar Bowl is home to amazing ice cream, but it does not stop there. The customer service provided by the young man who helped me last was off the charts. The creativity of their dishes is next level (think ice cream advent calendars and waffle nachos). Most importantly, their never-ending support of their community makes every bite taste even sweeter.

Have been coming to Decorah for years and never went to the Sugar Bowl. A few years back we saw it was under new manaand decided to try....and am very glad we did. There are two ice cream places in Decorah...Sugar Bowl and Whippy Dip. Sugar Bowl serves hard pack ice cream, and Whippy Dip does soft serve. The experience at Sugar Bowl is always great....friendly staff who are genuinely happy to help you. The flavors of ice cream rotate but they are so good. Today, I had the Mint Avalanche...fun fact, they will make you an ice cream sandwich if you ask. They have home made monster cookies that I think are gluten free...if you don't care if you eat gluten you wouldn't know you are missing out and if you can't have gluten, boom! Gluten free cookie ice cream sandwich. Love this place and will be back next time we are in town.

Fantastic local ice cream shop with lots of vintage charm. Dozens of AMAZING flavors and 6+ types of cones including red velvet and matcha. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. I got the waffle nachos, two scoops of ice cream, your choice of toppings all over a pile of waffle chips. Definitely a repeat visit location.

Really neat ice cream shop. Lots of cool retro touches. Good amount of seating, including a second floor balcony. Excellent service. Fun place to take kids grandkids or a date.

Love the staff and the ice cream selection. The “this @$/! Just got serious” is the ish. “Fat Elvis” is awesome and “Exhausted Parent” saves my day often.

The Sugar Bowl is a must for me when I visit Decorah. Fat Elvis in a waffle cone is my go-to order. I love the new mural upstairs! It is so amazing! Service is wonderful as well.

When the quality of the ice cream meets the *most* fun atmosphere AND the business gives back to the community… you’ve got yourself a winner. I love the vibe of downtown Sugar Bowl! I haven’t chosen a favorite flavor yet; but I’m having fun deciding. This will be a staple of our summer!

Really good ice cream. I had almond coconut and my wife had the Fat Elvis. Both were delicious, and you could tell made with proper ingredients. The staff was also really nice.

Best ice cream in Decorah. Retro environment and family friendly. Our kids have requested to visit the Sugar Bowl again on our next trip to the Driftless.

Wow! Is really all I can say. What a cute, nostalgic and worth the hype place! Have been to Decorah quite a few times and this was our first visit to this place. The workers were friendly, the place was very clean and the ice cream is *heavenly*. Definitely will be coming back for more!

Service was kind and very helpful! They have unique but amazing flavor combinations that you would’ve never thought of, but they all look great. The ice cream was so yummy and I wanted to try so many different flavors. Definitely worth the trip.

This is a fantastic spot if you're in the mood for some delicious ice cream, but also if you would like some great lunch or dinner options. The sandwiches are delectable and the soup is perfect for a cold day. Then you can enjoy your treats in the cozy atmosphere of the Landing Market.

My daughter asked to stop here. She wanted to show me her "dream date" spot. She is a hopeless romantic and this place did not disappoint! The ice cream is incredible, the staff is super accommodating and the atmosphere is idyllic. So much fun!

We ate ice cream here 2 days in a row! Loved the flavor choices! Kitty kitty bang bang was delicious, and so was the blueberry lemon cheesecake! Eat upstairs inside, or enjoy the upstairs outside balcony!

Wonderful selection of ice cream, shakes, and treats for the whole family! Our family favorite is the ice cream sandwich which is made with two homemade monster cookies with your choice of ice cream flavor! SO GOOD! The staff is always friendly and we love sitting outside on the top floor deck! If you are in Decorah, Sugar Bowl is a must stop!
