Sphinx Egyptian Kitchen

A lovely no frills restaurant. The meal was delicious! We had the Shawarma Plate and wrap. The service is friendly and they are proud to share their Egyptian culture. You must try their Baklava - you won't be disappointed!

🇪🇬 EGYPT (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The menu reads as if you were out with friends stopping at all your favorite restaurant stalls, so bring at least a couple others so you can have a table full of as many treasures as can fit. Sphinx is a great place to try a special Egyptian oddity known as koshari ($13.99), which the restaurant calls the national dish.

One of my favorite food spots to run across! Im Egyptian and this is one of the rare full Egyptian restaurants! Food is authentic and tasty! Highly recommend for Egyptians and everyone who wants to try authentic food dishes! Definitely MUST TRY!!!!

Stuff cabbage is excellent good flavor, tasty and comes to you hot. Beef shawerma was tender flavorful and had the vegetables inside was nice touch comes to you hot. Pizza Hawawshy a nice spin to the usual pizza the pita bread was stuffed with beef and on top was delicious combination of mozzarella cheese, black olives and peppers red and green great combination. The baklava it was light and crispy not so sweet. I highly recommend trying this delightful restaurant. You can come and enjoy breakfast, launch and dinner.

I came in with my friend. I was in the mood to something new I've never had Egyptian before. The chef was so helpful she gave me most excellent recommendations the lamb melted off the bone and chef even suggested to put the molokhia on the rice which was the best suggestion the rice was delicious blend of grains and the molokhia brought the flavor out. The entire dining experience from the greeting to the food was sublime. Furthermore the falafel was divine. Perfectly blended flavors and fluffy on the inside crunchy on the outside. It was in a word, heavenly.

Reminded me of being at a restaurant in the Middle East. We enjoyed our food and the staff were very friendly!

Amazing food, perfect costumer service . Very large quantities. Fast service. Really recommend it. I enjoy ordering food from there specifically the vegan plates.

The food was delicious. You can tell it was fresh by how tasted. Everything is made to order. They definitely take pride in their food and cooking. The owner is very kind and took care of us. Will be coming back and would highly recommend it!!

I’ve been to Lebanon, Turkey, and many different restaurants across the world that sell shawarma. This restaurant was the best I’ve had. I wish I lived closer by so I could come by here more often and try more of their food. If you’re considering this restaurant, this is the sign to just do it. It’s worth it. This is a family run business and I could taste all the love they put into their dishes. 10/10 would recommend. I look forward to coming back out this way so I can eat here again.

This place is absolutely delicious. I randomly popped in while passing through the city and I'm so glad I did. Next Time I'm passing through, I know where to eat. I wish I took a photo to share, but I didnt expect to want to leave a review, but the meal was just so finger-lickin' good! I'll have to plan a 2nd review so I can take some photos before eating next time, lol. Stop in, try them, very worth it!

Food there fresh I tried the Hawashy with Mozerlla cheese, olives green and red peper topping. I tried the Shawerma delicious. I tried the Cabbage tastey fresh I recommend it. Don't leave before you try it.

The food was delicious! I ordered the beef shawarma and it was So dang good. It had so much rich flavors. My husband ordered Koshari, it’s a meatless dish with so much flavor, we want to work our way through the different menu items they offer. We will be back soon. ❤ 🤤

I recently dined at Sphinx Egyptian Kitchen and had the pleasure of trying their Shawarma plate. It was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.

The Shawarma plate was a true culinary masterpiece. The flavors were an explosion in my mouth, with perfectly seasoned and tender slices of meat. The blend of spices and the way it was grilled to perfection made this dish a true standout.

I also must commend the excellent service I received during my visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They ensured I had a memorable dining experience.

First time here. WHAT A JEWEL OF A FIND. so kind and courteous. Knowing nothing about Egyptian food we were taken on a tour of the menu. She helped us find the right dish and it was perfect!
Please come here and enjoy everything about it. I'd love to see this place stay here for a long time. Come on community!!!!

OMG, she just made me a falafel to try theirs. (all falafels are not the same)... this is hands down, THE BEST FALAFEL I've ever had. They make them from scratch.
And
BTW..... the prices are very reasonable and the servings are large portions.

The service and food at this restaurant are above and beyond. It is rare to meet a chef that is truly passionate about what they cook. When you do, the food speaks for itself like it does here. The food is flavorful, delicious, and nostalgic. Sphinx Kitchen is very different from your typical Mediterranean restaurant. They have dishes that you will not see often on menus such as the macarona baschamel (penne pasta casserole with ground beef) , koshari, hawawshi (pita bread stuffed with ground beef), molokhia (stew made with jute mallow - like chopped spinich with an okra mouthfeel. The stew is delicious over rice or dipping your pita bread in) and bamya (okra and beef tomato stew- also delicious over rice).
We ordered the macarona baschamel, chicken mashawi, pita bread, lentil soup, molokhia, and kanafa. Everything we ordered was phenomenal and we are excited to have found this hidden gem!

Wraps are good, shawarma fries is really really good. Will try other stuff as well.

I dined here four times. All my experiences here were amazing.

Came here w a group of 20 (took over the entire spot) and they were so wonderful and kind!! No one had any complaints on the food! I had the mixed BBQ and it was all well seasoned, fresh and delicious!! They also don’t skimp out on the servings! I also got the falafel and they were so crunchy, light and yummy! Especially with the tahini and hummus!! I also got the baklava, which was delicious and not too sweet! They also gave our group three basboosa cakes for free!! The workers were all absolutely amazing!! It’s a new place and I’d 100% recommend it!!

I have eaten at several Mediterranean restaurants before, Usually they have Shawarma, Kebabs, tabouli and hummus. I like all of those dishes however, this restaurant also had some dishes that are unique to Egypt, which was cool to try. Food was fresh service was prompt, and staff was friendly.
