We enjoyed a great 4 night stay! Rooms were perfect and a short walk to the beach. Bird on the roof (Travis - most incredible espresso martini) was such a blast for us too, even joined in on the karaoke. Hotel was beautiful and super communicative and accommodating. We met the owner Leo who made my boyfriend and I feel like family. Already planning to return again! 10/10! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely loved our stay at Daunt’s in the late spring season this year! The location is great — Super easy beach access across the street and steps from the main street area. Love that they have free bikes to ride around town and fire pits in the evenings. Great customer service and other guests were very friendly and quiet. They even gave us 2 $20 gift cards for their restaurant across the street — Bird on the Roof (great cocktails and amazing brunch menu). Will be back!

Great little Motel a block from the Beach and right near the Plaza. Do a great job of giving gift cards to the Bird across the street for a quick drink or meal. Courtyard use to accommodate more people but now has a cozy feel to it with fire pits and Adirondack chairs. Ice machine is very helpful if you're packing a cooler or making a Cocktail. Pool area is perfect for when coming back from the beach and if your looking to BBQ everything is there for you to do so Pool temperature could be a little warmer but rumor is a heater is in future plans. Unfortunately price, like Montauk has gone up quite a bit in the last 4 or 5 years.

We came during the off season and had such a wonderful stay! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They have bikes on property that you are able to rent for free and explore for the day. The rooms and property were clean. We loved how close it was to town. Would definitely recommend!

Last minute trip- so nice and helpful on the phone to accommodate our situation. Rooms are clean, sooo comfortable, grounds are impeccably maintained and the fire pits smell heavily at night. The restaurant is worth a go as well, dinner was delicious. I hate to give a glowing review because rooms I’m sure will book fast so book ahead in busy months or enjoy last minute in the off season. Thank you so much for the love!

Super cute and friendly hotel. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and so close to the beach. Every evening there are fire pits lit in the courtyard and you can sit and lounge by the fire. The pool is so nice and clean, every morning I saw staff cleaning the pool and getting it ready for the day. There is daily room service, just hang a sign if you don’t want it, and make sure to tip the housekeepers, who are so sweet and friendly btw. They also have free bicycles for guests if you want to bike through town. Loved my stay, I have a full video review on my insta @melissaetn

Very clean and modern great location close to the beach and town so we could walk to everything. This was a last minute find and we were very happy. Also had a nice courtyard with fire pit and a place in the back to go outside.

We loved our stay at Daunt’s Albatross. The room was spotless, and the common area and pool were very comfortable and inviting. Wish we coulda stayed longer. Perfect location nestled right in between town and the beach. We will be back soon!

You'll be surprised on how friendly and responsive the team is. We definitely enjoyed the pool, fire pit (s'mores) and clean spaces throughout the facility. My family and I will definitely take advantage of the barbecue grills and kitchen on our next visit.

We had the best time! Loved our room & the igloos, everything about place and service. Also, loved The Bird Restaurant across the street. Yummy food & service too. Live music & trivia. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and loved that St Therese Catholic Church was walking distance and was a beautiful parish - the beach is also steps away. Truly a great place & location!❤

Super friendly and seamless checkin process. We haven’t been to Montauk in several years and coming out during off season is a great way to enjoy some of the best sights and food around town. The hotel staff was friendly and followed up with us on suggestions and made sure we have a good time at the restaurant the Bird across the street. We enjoyed cocktails a Saturday night with love music and brunch on Sunday with reservations. Rooms were clean and a good size with a porch and mini kitchen, basic coffee and tea options but just right for what we needed. I would recommend to take advantage of the igloos and outdoors the hotel has to offer, also very close to the beach and anything you need if you want to take a walk. Lastly easy drive to state parks and other towns to explore.

My cousin & I had the pleasure of staying at Daunt’s Albatross in Montauk June 11-13 2024. This is the first time we stayed at this wonderful place. Everything was perfect during our stay. The room was so clean & quaint. The common areas were so peaceful. The pool was beautiful & relaxing. (We spent quite a few hours chatting with other guests and also met the owner Jimmy, who was so kind and shared the history of Daunt’s Albatross with us. June 12 was my birthday and from beginning to end it was lovely. Delicious breakfast at the bird restaurant, owned by jimmy located directly across the street from motel. The hostess Lina from Brazil took my photo & gifted me with a birthday card & a Polaroid picture of my cousin MK & I. Later it was birthday dinner at the bird too. Just as wonderful. Service was great. Chef Marco made the most amazing coconut bread pudding, which my cousin describes as a slice of heaven. She even spoke with chef to thank him. Thank You to all who work at this wonderful place. Every single person was kind. Will definitely return.

Daunt's Albatross Motel is a little gem out in Montauk and truly such a dream to stay at during any season. (The off-season is my favourite because the town is less busy and the ocean just feels epic.) They have thought of so many nice touches to make the rooms feel both cozy and relaxing. The location is excellent for walking around town to grab food and it’s a very short walk to the beach. The team who runs Daunt's Albatross Motel motel is outstanding and super attentive, I highly recommend this spot!

Renovation at Daunts is top notch. We stayed in the Koda suite. King bedroom, en-suite with large counter, small claw foot tub w/shower, slow close toilet seats. Large wardrobe to store clothes, open closet, plenty of hooks to hang garments. Beautiful calm blue green colors. Only con to the bedroom is it’s a step down. Suggestion to add effective strip of paint to that step . Large windows throughout. BDRM also has an exit to the pool area . Con- views from all windows except one facing the courtyard are not attractive .

Living room has a couch, two side chairs , coffee table, tv . We found it comfortable . In the same room is the kitchen. Again, great color scheme, full stove/oven , no dishwasher , pour over coffee maker, retro toaster and small retro fridge, microwave. Limited dishes and cutlery but when asked we got what we needed. Small dining table …. I mean small but seats four. In same space what appears to be a double bed against the wall with a curtain completely closing it off if you want privacy and second bath with walk in shower .

Good lighting throughout with many thoughtful touches such as a sound machine in the BDRM .

Propane fireplace that throws real heat.

Keep in mind the door to the suite from the courtyard enters into a small ‘lobby’ before you open the door to the actual suite. That lobby is shared by housekeeping to enter another room with their supplies.

Courtyard was awesome. We were there in the off season (April) . They have bubbles set up with lights and soft music and heaters inside . You need to ask for the remote for the heaters. There are also fire pits that burn real wood.

Front desk staff were all wonderful . We bonded with Linda who is so sweet and helpful . Again, they ALL were!

Humble suggestion - to have a card/ book in each room telling you how everything works. And in season and off season restaurants that are open -list.

Other than that it was a peaceful relaxing getaway . Extremely clean as well.

Since it was the off season the pool was closed but it is salt water.

We have been coming to Daunts for years. Each year is more memorable than the next. It does feel like family there and recommend it to everyone that say they are coming to Montauk. Thanks to Leo and his staff for always being so welcoming!

Even before our Arrival, the Staff reached out with helpful advice and guidance to help us enjoy our stay. Since we were both familiar with Montauk ; it was unnecessary- however a very useful gesture for those “ from away “!
Their partnership with Bird on the Roof ( Restaurant directly across the street served us well. And The Restaurant did not disappoint.
Regarding the Motel ?,
Clean , room was well appointed , and a rather strange request to housekeeping-resulted in an immediate response and fulfillment.
I was advised that ( due to the St Patrick’s Day Parade ), the motel was fully booked. I don’t doubt it . But more importantly- that reality did not result in any disruption of prompt attention from management.
Not sure what else we could add to express the exceptional experience we were delivered… but please assume that it is “ added “!
We’re definitely going to return. A class location like this is a delight to encounter.

I can’t say enough great things about Daunt’s Albatross. It was like coming to visit friends instead of just staying in a motel room. They made sure I was taken care of even though I was arriving after the front desk closed for the evening. The level of service they offer should cost a lot more than it does. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. And the location couldn’t be better! One block of the main drag and a block from the beach! I can’t wait to come back and stay longer!

My husband and I had an amazing experience. It was his birthday and they surprised him with a welcome gift. Few seconds walk to the beach, shops and brewery. The Bird house restaurant is a must! Excellent food, definitely gained returning customers

Back in the city after my second stay at Daunt’s and I didn’t want to leave. For me it’s a cosy oasis tucked into the heart of Montauk village, and so very conveniently located and steps from the ocean. My room was spacious with its own kitchenette. The decoration felt light and airy. You can tell it’s a family business, the staff were warm and friendly and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. TYSM Daunt <3
