This place is amazing! The collection is fantastic, and the volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and are excited to share everything they know. And it’s not just airplanes, but navy ships, military uniforms, weapons and other artifacts. As of summer 2024 it’s $15 for an adult, so very reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming again to see what we missed.

Had a GREAT time visiting. We were offered a guide and it was a good move to accept one. The amount of knowledge, local stories, and connections between the artifacts and the place as related to us was immense.

Three hours later we left in a very happy and satisfied condition.

This place is amazing!! They have some really awesome planes including a C-130 Hercules, and an F-14!! The tour guide was really knowledgeable. Or you can walk around yourself.

This museum was unbelievable with the fighter jets. The transport planes, everything and anything from all of the wars, including uniforms, these volunteers go above and beyond, to show you how these brave men and women that served our country and the equipment that they use to do it. Visit this museum and ask for a tour with Carl., I was humbled to say the least.. Thank you to the people that upkeep this museum and all its artifact.

A lot to see far more than I thought it would be. My dad and I both had a great time looking at all the planes and military things.

Really neat museum, especially the “Gallery of Heroes” area. Tons of vintage aircraft, WWI and WWII relics. They even have a flamethrower! 🔥🔥🔥

Very unique museum. One of a kind Goodyear plane. So much memorabilia and displayed so nicely. We will go back when we can walk outside. It was freezing today.

We spend 2 hours at the museum and highly recommend it. Awesome collection of planes and memorabilia. The restored planes look amazing and we also loved the outdoor display. Our 3 year old didn’t want to leave

We thought this would be a neat little excursion to fill some time on the weekend our daughter was moving out from college. We way underestimated this museum. There is so much to see and so much history. Our tour guide Rick Johnston was a wealth of information! We would highly recommend it!

My family’s first time visiting the MAPS Museum and we were blown away. Our tour guide, Reed, was informative and passionate about the mission of this museum. We will definitely come back when it’s a little warmer so we can see the planes outside. Highly recommend for families who want to learn more about not only Americas history but other countries as well.

A great history lesson! Volunteer’s really make the museum a living experience. You can actually climb in a lot of the planes unlike at the Dayton AF museum. The wars are explained really well upstairs in the military history room.

It's a nice medium sized air museum. Everyone there is a volunteer so they are all very nice. So be nice to them. Nothing in the gift shop is over priced and when they have special events they don't price gouge. There is quite a bit of Akron history in this place and it's a great place to learn about the history of aviation. Worth the little day trip. And there are picnic tables out in the field with a great view of CAK airport to watch planes take off and land.

Cannot thank reed kimball enough. It was a rainy day, so a lot of the outside exhibits were closed, but because the rain was clearing up he personally took us outside, and gave us a tour of the entire museum and each plane. My boyfriend and his from are both veterans from NH, and one was just accepted into the pilot program and the tour and day meant the world to us! Incredible museum with so much to see!!! Worth it to have a tour as well, it made the experience so much better! Give yourself the entire day to get through it!

Haven’t been here in years. By far my most memorable museum experience! This is a place where everyone volunteers and knows the stories behind every plane in the museum…because they spent countless years restoring them. I can’t begin to explain how incredible the experience was and wish I had more to offer besides leaving a nice review.

We went to pass the time on a rainy day and spent 4+ hours and still probably just scratched the surface.

I have meant to visit this place many times since I first discovered it. I finally decided to visit today, and it was really worth the visit. This may not be the largest museum, but it makes up for it in local history and a wealth of personal accounts and information from many veterans and historians. What I enjoyed most was how much the volunteers working here loved to answer questions and give their first hand knowledge of the exhibits. I really enjoyed the exhibit about uniforms throughout military history. Another really cool part of this museum is that quite a few exhibits are hands on, and you can even sit in some of the planes. This museum was overall a very nice museum, and definitely worth the visit, especially if you live in Akron or the surrounding areas. Enjoy an afternoon of learning about aircraft and history with people who love the subject.
