A must visit when in Chattanooga.

Great food, service, drinks and atmosphere. You’re at the bottom of lookout mountain but the food is the tops.

Great fish, sides and deserts. Unique drinks to satisfy every palate. Neat, clean dining rooms. Specials and brunch are frequent options.

A repeat customer and satisfied every time.

After a disappointing first visit, we decided to give 1885 Grill another try, and I’m glad we did! This time, the experience was much improved. The food arrived much quicker, and I was particularly impressed with the shrimp and grits—they were absolutely delicious. The great customer service made a big difference as well. Thank you, 1885, for turning things around and providing a delightful dining experience.

Emma, our server was over the top wonderful. The outdoor area, perfect for us and our little buddy, Elvis. The chips, cooked to perfection as were the fried green tomatoes.

If your budget allows, this is a must do!

Absolutely excellent!! Friendly, prompt staff and fantastic food. Reasonably fast. Fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had. The mushroom and grits (Skeeter style) was phenomenal and the steak frites were divine. The pecan pie bread pudding with caramel sauce was transcendent. Would definitely recommend!!

This place is great. The smokey aroma let's you know they are cooking good food. I had the fried green tomatoes and they were served with their special pimento cheese. Delicious. I also had the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp. This is real gulf coast cooking. I recommend this restaurant. The service was excellent. The only downside is parking.

Wonderful dinner in Chattanooga. Pimento cheese with grilled pita and fried okra pods appetizer was devine! Burgers with Rosemary fries and macaroni and cheese.

This place is absolutely wonderful!! We have been several times and it never disappoints. Their drink menu is just as well thought out and delicious as their food menu.
Their wings!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness the WINGS!!!! They are an absolute must. Their grits ,"Skeeter Style" is also 👌. It's a beautiful restaurant in a wonderful location. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. It's just a wonderful place to go.

A bit of a wait but we'll worth it. Server was polite and timely. Gumbo was some of the best outside of Louisiana. Grilled pork chop perfect and my wife enjoyed her salmon. Bread pudding was good but a little too sweet.
Reasonable prices and nice outdoor dining.

Awesome place with great service. The 1885 burger was amazing. Didn't love the smoked fish dip but definitely have had worse. Definitely worth checking out.

We enjoyed our meal at 1885 - little loud in the dining area for my tastes - but nice ambience. Had shrimp n grits and salmon plate with some key lime to finish off. The pale ale was great compliment ! Would come again - will recommend. I think our server was Mary - my glass was never empty. 😋

Superb! Had the shrimp and grits and it was amazing! Being a Northerner it was my first time trying a grits cake and the sauce was just the best!!!

Eaten at the 1885 grill twice now. Years apart and sat at the same table both times... karma, I guess. We came back, so... that says something about our experience. Food and staff are great. The salmon and fried chicken are worth repeating.

Shrimp and grits were really good. We had fried green tomatoes and fried okra as well and they were great. This place is a little expensive but not terribly, it seems to be quality food thats worth it. Our server was a young woman who just started a few months ago and she was so sweet and knowledgeable on the menu. I appreciated her service and enjoyed our dinner experience!

Great atmosphere. We got the burger, shrimp and grits and a side of empanadas. All was prepped correctly and tasted good

My husband & I had dinner here for my birthday while on vacation.. This was the BEST dinner I have had in a long time. We ordered the steak frites & pork-chop dinner... WOW!! Delicious & cooked to perfection! Our waitress was great and all other staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Loved it! Unfortunately, the AC went out right around the time we sat down so I also wanted to mention that I have a ton of respect for all the employees that were working so hard in this heat (especially kitchen staff). We will definitely be back :)

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Absolutely much try if you are in the area. Incredible food and service.

One of our favorite dinners on a trip to the Chattanooga area and will return for sure. Service and food were both incredible and top-notch. There were three in our party I had the Shrimp and Crawfish Étouffée spicy and loved it, my wife had the Salmon, and my son had the pork chop and for desert we had the Pecan Pie Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce with ice cream. The mixed drinks were a favorite as well. I had the southern gentleman, and my wife had the patio drink, and both were excellent

Amazing. The food, service, atmosphere... everything was just great. It's super cozy. The drink I got was called "Patio Drink" and it was very refreshing. We started off with the hush puppies, empanadas, and the gumbo. Everything was delicious, cooked well, and seasoned perfectly. Can't wait to come back!

Staff was extremely helpful. Not being local to TN, I had an issue with parking charge, and the Manager went above and beyond to correct the it. Her due diligence inspired me to return. Food portions are generous. Jada was awesome at customer service. Will be back.
