Luna's Ice Cream

This ice cream shop was fantastic!
It turns out that this bright and kid friendly shop was created by a hard working and passionate husband and wife team, it's a true "family business". The interior is bright and well decorated, the signage is easy to understand and not overly complicated. The best part is that they are happy to let you try as many of the flavors as you want, which really helps because they have crafted a diverse and rich collection of some of the best I've creams I've ever had. My wife and I both opted for a single scoop in a waffle cone, and were shocked by how generous they were. They are actually 2 healthy scoops that they call "a single scoop", and to make it even better, you can choose 2 different ice cream flavors. They also offer a nice selection of vegan friendly ice creams made with oat milk, which are also gluten free and nut free for those worried about allergy friendly options. I'm so happy to see our little neighborhood get such a high quality family friendly, family run, ice cream shop.

Cones in store and pints to go. I did both today. Zero regrets. The gluten-free cones are amazing. I haven't had a cone in years it was such a treat. The place is always really clean, the staff friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients. Just noted on the website they sell their ice cream in gallon size containers and will be doing that once I work my way through the GF flavors (3 flavors down so far!) and pick a favorite. 😍

A co-worker told me about Luna’s because she knows the owner. I finally made it there last week and was so glad I did! I don’t often see vegan AND gluten free options that are so enticing! Many places will have vegan ice cream, but with brownies or cookies that aren’t gluten free. I tried 4 flavors, all were delicious! So, SO much better than the store bought brands I’ve tried. Also, at $9 a pint, I felt it was very reasonable. AND, you can even get two flavors in one pint! I went with double vanilla cookies and cream, and the chocolate cure (pictured in the photo). The strawberry cheesecake was also so good, but chocolate won me over that night.

I know it’s winter now, but I’d encourage you to give this place a try. I can tell they’ve really put their heart and soul into this place, and it’s always great to see a good small business succeed!

SO GOOD. WORTH THE WAIT!! Don’t let a long line stop you from trying their insanely original and unique flavors. The service was top notch - they are patient and generous with flavor samples. Seems their main goal is to ensure their customers are HAPPY! We left with huge scoops and even bigger smiles :-) PS- Try the salted caramel truffle w/ a scoop of coffee combo!

Luna’s has some of the best ice cream in town. Don’t let their newness fool you. The owners, Sam and Rachel, make all the ice creams in house, often using locally sourced ingredients. Their flavors are the perfect mix of creamy and sweet. They have a variety of vegan flavors, as well as some gluten free cake and cookie batter ice cream flavors. They don’t skimp on the cake/cookie batters either! The quality of service and friendliness is unmatched. We love it so much, we’ve been 5 times in the last 14 days 😅 This will continue to be a regular dessert spot for our family.

We always love coming to Luna’s! The atmosphere is clean, colorful and welcoming, the staff is always so kind and patient, and the flavors are truly the best in Milwaukie!
Added bonus: a few tables for sitting outside, and giant pup cups for $5 that will make your fur baby feel included, and so happy!

We had an amazing and enjoyable experience! Both my partner and I have selective dietary restrictions and having so many gluten free and vegan options made it feel so special. The staff were so friendly and helpful while we perused their ice cream selection. They even had gluten free cones!

When you walk in the first thing you smell is the sense of vanilla and waffle cones…Mmmmm!!!! then you have the most caring woman explain to you the menu and that you have vegan options and you even have options for your four-legged fur babies!!

She will then give you the option to try whatever you’d like with metal spoons because they’re eco-friendly and they care about our planet…FYI my favorite choice was salted caramel truffle…

This little shop was truly amazing. You definitely need to give them some business because everybody loves ice cream.

local ice cream shop offers tons of delicious flavors and vegan options! On Fridays, you can add a warm cookie to any scoop for $1. They also do ice cream cupcakes! The owners make the ice cream themselves and the pumpkin oatmeal flavor was amazing!

This place is absolutely amazing every time we go! They have 6 different vegan flavors, lots of gluten free flavors, even a sugar free option, as well as lots of awesome regular flavors! Their sugar cones are also vegan! We love going and it’s definitely our go to ice cream place now! I can’t say enough good things about this local family owned small business!

A cute local shop with fantastic vibes. Luna, the owner, was behind the counter, bouncing around happily while serving us. The menu is affordable and the waffle cones are made in house - I know because we watched them be made.

As far as ice cream shops go, it's possibly the best I've been to. The open floor plan is accessible to both small children and wheelchair users. The selection had quite a bit of variety as well. It was clean and tidy as well, and the staff moved pretty quickly, so we were served fast, but never felt in the way or shuffled along.

For prices, you can expect to spend 5 or so dollars per person, up to 10 if you want something massive or extra effort like stuffed cupcakes. Kids scoops are 3.50$, so it's an affordable option for parents.

We LOVE Luna’s! Not only is the ice cream AMAZING, but the staff is always so friendly and kind! They are knowledgeable and always happy to give samples to try! The atmosphere is incredible as well. I love the simplicity of the menu, the bold contrast of colors and inviting warmth of the building. Even thier bathroom is adorable with backwards lettered stickers on the bathroom door to reflect in the mirror that states, “Ice Cream Looks Good On You.” Whoever designed this space has great taste and a good eye! It’s always so clean and LOVE that they hold their cones in closed containers & not exposed to dust and what not. 10/10 recommend. They also have ice cream for dogs with 25% proceeds going to the humane society. I’ve been in over 10+ times and every time one of the owners is conversing with a customer who they know from the neighborhood. Just an awesome establishment all around! Only bummer (which isn’t really…) is be prepared to wait 3-5 minutes because there’s always a line - but for a great reason! :)

Absolutely love that this gem of a place opened up in the neighborhood. I've gone in a handful of times and every time the customer service has been stellar. Their ice cream flavors are so yummy, even though I stick with the same one every time, bourbon butter pecan...trust me it's amazing, but I do always look over the classic flavors and am always tempted to go with something else. They also have rotating season flavors. It's definitely a spot you should venture out to, even if you are not in the milwaukie area. It's that good.

In the words of two very happy eleven year olds: The ice cream was HEAVEN. I wish I could come here every day. Fantastic vegan options and gluten free cones - which are usually hard to find. Servers are very friendly. We love the ice cream clock and positive feedback (treat yourself!) and flags... It all just makes the room feel happy. I love so much more but I don't even have time to say it all.

From the adult: The flavors are special - like every single one. I've never seen so much cookie dough in cookie dough ice cream which feels like it sums it up: everything is extra and abundant in the best kind of way and the flavors are balanced and on point.

This is by far our favorite place in town! Our kids have food allergies and Luna’s makes the best vegan ice cream around. The owners are so kind and you can tell they genuinely love their customers and their business. If we could give 10 stars, we would!
