Rochester Sport Fishing

08/08/2023 - Had an Amazing time fishing with Captain Kip! He put us on fish within the hour and when waters got rough he was professional and safe. His boat and gear were stellar also! All the rods and reels were nice and the boat was lined with the EVA Boat Liner which is a small factor which made a big difference in footing and safety. A true professional . Second time going with Captain Kip and we refuse to go with anyone else. Till next year !!

What a truly amazing day! Captain Kip is an expert, he loves his job, makes it truly enjoyable for those on board his comfortable boat, and we truly believe, he is The Fish Whisperer!

We planned this trip and ended up having to reschedule it 3 times due to my work travels, and Captain Kip, was always flexible and welcomed my husband, me, and my black lab Service Dog onto his boat yesterday with a huge smile. While getting my Service dog onto the boat, I dropped my new prescription sunglasses into the water between the dock and the boat. You could tell Captain Kip had been through this just a couple of times. After getting everyone safely on board, he grabbed his net and went after my glasses. He was determined to find them, but unfortunately before going out, he could not. He assured me that we would try again when we came back. He allowed me to borrow an amazing pair of polarized sunglasses that he had on the boat as extras, and he saved the day for me. We settled in and were quite comfortable including my Service Dog, due to the cushioned floor of the boat.

Once out on the water and the poles were set, it was like he whistled, and the fish came right to the hooks. We caught two 10+ lb. Trout right away in the first half hour, and then we had enough time to take a quick break. Then we had an even larger one on the hook. We almost caught two salmon, then line squealed again. It was the largest trout we had hooked so far. My husband started to reel that fish in, and Bam. We had a 20+ lb. Salmon on the hook too. The two largest fish we caught were the last two we reeled in, and we had been out about 4 hours at that time.

My husband and I both took a quick rest, and Captain Kip set up his station to clean and fillet the fish. We learned a lot in this process, and ended up with many large bags of fish to bring home. We ended up with 25 lbs. of fish to put in our freezer!

When we got back to the dock, Captain Kip helped us off load and took another net to the water to find my sunglasses, and low and behold, I had them back on my face before we left the dock. Amazing!

We took our son for his 14th birthday for an afternoon charter. It was the perfect day! Kip was extremely knowledgeable and his attention to detail was outstanding. We had 9 rods in the water and he didn’t stop moving the entire charter to ensure we had the best chance of catching fish. We ended up with 9 lake trout and 6 coho salmon. All but 1 of the lake trout exceed 10lbs which was really exciting for my kids. Highly recommend. We will be back! Thanks Kip!

Had a great time with the whole family on Labor Day 9/6/21. Captain Kip is top notch and knows how to get the fish on. If your looking for a fishing charter in Rochester, NY you have to check him out. You will not be disappointed. We had 12 bites and hooked 6 fish in 2 hours. 2 Mature Kings, 1 HUGE Coho, 1 Laker, 1 Brown 6lbs.

We fished with Capt Kip for the first time on 4/24/2022. The weather started out a little rough but Kip worked hard to get us on the fish. As soon as the Lake settled down the bite was on. We ended up with a great mix of Kings, Browns, Coho and even an Atlantic Salmon.

We fished again with Rochester Sportfishing.com the next morning 4/25/2022. The weather cooperated and as Kip would say it ended up being a Smoke show. We had Kings striking so hard they were porpoising out of the water. What started out as a brown trout trip quickly turned into a king salmon trip. Finished the day with 11 fish including a 22 lb king. It was all smiles on the ride home!

Our group loves captain Kip!! He’s chill and knows his stuff. He took us to the right spots and we were able to catch three big fish. Would def go back to do it again. Thx Kip!!!

Sept. 5, 2023 Guys I’m here to tell you, I fish a lot myself and it didn’t take me long to discover that Kip seriously knows what he’s doing, I jus happened to see his advertisement in the game and fish magazine and decided we’re gonna go with him and thankful we did, he’s super nice guy and would definitely recommend anyone to go with this guy, we went on the water at 5:45 AM and we’re limited out by 8:30 AM, my wife caught a 23lb King Salmon 💪🏽. Thank you Kip for our awesome experience and can’t wait till next time!!

9/1/23 Fantastic Service! Captain Kip was not afraid to make a long run to make sure we found fish. He's helpful, friendly, and made sure to teach/help the beginners on the boat knew so they knew what to do. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend!

Came all the way up from Charlotte NC with family. Captain Kip was great - even with the weather being jumpy, still managed to come out with 6 good fish on a morning booking. Looking forward to next year. 8/1/22

6/18 went out fishing for fathers days. Ended up catching 11 fish, mostly salmon, and my family had a great time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a charter

Captain Kip was a perfect blend of ball busting and information. Our group of 6 caught many fish and thoroughly enjoyed our time on the charter. We drove 90 min for this charter and it wasn’t a disappointment whatsoever. If you’re looking for a quality experience with a captain that helps you get the best bang for your buck, book a charter with him!

Went out at 5:30am 5/15/22. The three of us fishing caught our bag limit with time to spare. Captain Kip was great, he knew exactly what to fish and where. For a first time charter it was a great experience! Highly recommend

Our group had a great time with Captain Kip! The lines were barely in the water when tripled on Northern Pike (which we had to throw back, but a lot of fun). Perhaps even more entertaining than actually catching fish is Captain Kip's enthusiasm and intensity the instant he sees a bite on a line: "HERE WE GO!!!" He warned us in advance that due to extremely low water levels in the lake we wouldn't catch the salmon we hoped for and even offered to reschedule, but we chose to go anyway and we didn't regret it: we caught some fish (Brown Trout and Lake Trout to keep) and had fun. The captain even kept us out for an extra 30 minutes to give us a chance to catch more. Would definitely recommend!

Captain Kip took us out for our first ever salmon fishing excursion, 9/2/22 and were able to land some great fish! (King salmon and brown trout). Everything went smoothly and I would definitely go back out next time I’m in the area!

I previously fished lake Ontario and only caught lake trout, but I had always wanted to catch king salmon, I saw an article in fish and game magazine featuring Captain kip and Rochester sport fishing. So I booked a charter, made the 5 hour drive, and our expectations were exceeded! We caught our limit of king salmon and more. We cant say enough about the trip but amazing!

Captain Kip was an awesome guy and a great captain. It was slow at first but Captain Kip found a live spot quickly and we hooked on to some great salmon. 100% recommend experiencing the Great Lakes with this company.

Great day of fishing with Captain Kip at Rochester Sport Fishing! We've gone on a number of these trips over the last 20 years or so, but yesterday's trip was the best. Our group landed 12 King Salmon, most in the 18-20lb range, and ended the morning with my nephew landing a 27 pounder! Weather was great, fishing was awesome, and Captain Kip knew where to find 'em. Highly recommend!

Had a blast with Captain Kip. Had us on fish right away never went more than thirty minutes without getting us on a fish. Got 6 King Salmon 2 Coho and a brown trout which limited our party out in four hours. Really seemed like he knew what he was doing always switching things up to fit the situation and was super chill. Highly recommend.

April 19, 2019. This was the best fishing charter trip I’ve ever been on, bar none. Captain Kip decided in less than 10 minutes the water we started in wasn’t going to work. We moved and he got us on fish immediately, without hesitation on decision making, and even adjusted the lure color on the fly. His boat, gear and setup allowed us to hit the hot spot as many times as we could, maximizing our exposure to the mature king salmon we hit all day (10 mature Kings in the boat!). If you are looking to take advantage of the Lake Ontario sport fishing opportunity, Captain Kip and Rochester sport fishing is a no brainer. Be well, Kip, see you next time!

We took an afternoon charter with Captain Kip and had an amazing time. We caught 7 great fish in an afternoon charter ( King Salmon, Coho, and Trout). Kip was amazing and highly recommend him if you want to get on the fish.
