One of Panama City’s hidden jewels. I come here for the most delicious lunches I have ever had locally. Everything on the menu is prepared fresh daily. My favorites are the chicken and dumplings which taste just like my mom’s and the bistro salad. The desserts are yummy too. One of the few restaurants that still uses cloth tablecloths and serves water in glass goblets. An added bonus is that they faithfully feed a homeless cat community every day. The owners are very kind people.

First time at this establishment. Food was excellent. Staff was very caring and excellent. The only criticism - eating while sitting beneath the very, very dirty ceiling fans made me want to cover my food between bites. But, we will go back.

The food is delicious, the chefs are fabulous and fun, and the friendly atmosphere is charming. The cooking classes are a special treat! Somethin's Cooking is the place to go for lunch with your girlfriends, birthdays with family, or just a date with your spouse. While there you'll see old friends and make new ones.

Have frequented this place for years. Love the classes, love the food, love the shop. Ate there on Monday and it was fabulous. Only had a half sandwich and I was full, but wished I'd had a whole one as I enjoyed it so much! The bread was fantastic.

What gem! We make it to Panama City numerous times each year to visit local family and friends, visits to Somethin's Cooking (and the Bistro Garden Cafe) will definitely be on the agenda from here on out.

The retail side of the store has so many specialty grocery items, interesting cookbooks, and knickknacks. The culinary classes look like a first class experience.

For our lunch, we had several items. The chicken and dumpling soup started with a rich, flavorful chicken stock providing a great base for the hearty portion of chicken and delicate dumplings.

The side salad was dressed with a house-made balsamic, coupled with a parmesan ranch dressing. The sweet, savory, and acidic flavors were fresh and crisp.

The shrimp BLT on sourdough was great. It overflowed with shrimp, dressed with a rich but still light remoulade.

The ham and Swiss was a hearty portion, served on artisan marble rye.

The Parisian Jambon was also a great sandwich. A hearty portion of ham, thick slices of brie, and the crunch of fresh apple.

Each sandwich was paired with the bacon ranch house potato salad.

Can't wait for another visit!

Went here for the first time yesterday after a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad! It's a restaurant, store and culinary school, the food and service was perfect, I'll definitely be going back very soon and I would absolutely love to take a cooking class here as well! They sell decor and cookware as well, some of the cookware is Cuisinart and my personal favorite Le Cruesset.

I worked here over ten years ago am so happy to see that it hasn't changed. It still has the same charming mom and pop vibe and the lunch they serve is definitely something special. My favorite are the soups. It is obvious that Hannelore and Bill take a lot of pride in this place.

My 8 year old daughter really enjoyed the kids' cooking classes taught by Hannelore. She is always so excited to show us what she has learned.

It’s a very nice place Puls I’m a student for the kids cooking class she had to cancel the cooking class to time not her fault cuz all of the kids were sick and she gave me the stuff we’re we’re gonna make and she had to cancel cuz she had a grown up class and kids class was to much for her and she’s very old and needs some time

Always wanted to go here but was never off work when they were open. Well today was the day and boy was I not disappointed! This is a hidden gem! If you want authentic German cuisine this is the place to go! Reminded me of my childhood living in Germany! My wife and I will certainly be back for more! This has deli style service as well as a cooking school and store. You'll not go astray if you eat here!

My wife and I attended our first Date Night event at this establishment last night. They currently have one of these events every month that allows couples or groups to gather for an unforgettable dining experience. This particular event featured the culinary talents of Chef Paul. This review would turn into a book if I tried to describe all of the courses served during this wonderful evening. Needless to say, Owner Hannelore's freshly prepared, home-made cheesecake was a perfect ending to an awesome experience. This place has an extensive lunch menu which my wife and I will no doubt be trying in the future. So, instead of going to one of the big chain restaurants, support this wonderful, locally-owned small business. I think you'll be glad you did.

I walked into this small store years ago and fell in love. They have always had the most unique cooking gifts and my favorite bread ever. It’s braided and baked fresh daily. I could eat the entire loaf at once. The people are wonderful too.

Oh wow! Wasn't expecting this! My wife always talked about this restaurant, but I had never eaten there. There were so many interesting choices on the menu. I ended up having way too much food, just because I wanted to try some of the menu items. I had potato leek soup, house salad, shrimp quiche, and cheesecake for dessert. All were way too good. Now I have to go back to try some more menu choices.
