The brothers have owned the store for 50 years. They know everything thing about their movies and they know their customers. Super nice guys! We have been going there for 30 years, we’ve moved out of state recently and we wish the best for them and recommend them everyone 👍

The gentleman there was very helpful and informative. I loved the calm atmosphere with a hint of excitement. Talk about memories. Better than a Blockbuster. Took my son to experience and learn a little something about real movies. I see a new tradition for our family beginning real soon.

This has always been our first stop on our vacation trips to Seaside. Everything you could possibly want to see on that rainy evening at the beach. And the owner’s film knowledge is amazing.

We always try to get a hotel with a DVD player to rent a movie from here. We wish you the best of luck with your health problems. We hope everything turns out okay and will see you next time we come down. James Marsh

A wonderful business that has stood the test of time, run by two great guys. One of my favorite parts of Seaside, and as iconic to our town as the Turnaround, the Cove, or the Prom (at least in my mind). Makes me wish I had more time to watch movies. A truly one-of-a-kind film and television collection coupled with top tier movie aficionados behind the counter.

We stopped by here while on vacation, the person in the store who I assume was the owner was so nice and welcoming, asked us if we were looking for something and I told him we stopped by for the nostalgia and was still so friendly. I asked if I could take some pictures and he said it was absolutely fine. His selection of movies is more diverse that the blockbusters and Hollywood videos when they were open. Awesome experience, give this store a visit , it’s amazing

One of coolest stores ever. They still rent VHS!

My family and I took a recent trip over to Seaside/Cannon Beach for a quick getaway. My wife suggested I get a movie from our hotel that happened to rent out DVDs so that we could watch something with our son before bedtime. Sure enough, the hotel ran out of kids movies (pretty sure my son didn't care to watch Field of Dreams, he's just a toddler).

On our second day of our trip I decided to stop by Universal Video. For a city folk like myself, the first impression is that this video rental store reminded me of an old library. It had that smell of old cardboard (all the VHS boxes they had probably helped).

This place just seemed old, but that's kind of how Seaside is. At any rate, the selection of DVDs/VHS were incredible. I saw movies I hadn't heard of in years. They had old promo cardboard cutouts too. The nostalgia factor is enough for me to visit again the next time I make a trip out.

The owner (I assume) behind the desk was so friendly and knowledgeable and you could tell he was genuinely excited to sign me up as a "member" of this video store.

If you drive or walk by, do not judge this place by the cover. There are so many hidden gems in this store, it's worth the stop. Don't even think about a RedBox for movies, this place will have what you're looking for and more. Excellent collection, excellent memorabilia, excellent service. Thanks Universal Video!

I've been going here for 16 years and Jim and Steve are SO nice. I always leave with what seems like a brand new movie, and return it with satisfaction of my purchase. Universal Video is by far my favorite video rental place.

Thankfully these brothers have kept alive what many of us love! A REAL video store with folks who know and love film! Having relocated, one of the best finds is this store within a short walking distance! Great owners, plenty of choices! Life is fabulous in Seaside!

Amazing place to visit, it’s just amazing to see everything they have and get the nostalgia from seeing it all! I hope it stays here forever!

What an awesome place! Our airbnb unfortunately didn’t have a tv but if your rental has one GO RENT FROM UNIVERSAL VIDEO. We were so impressed with the collection the owner has. My husband could have spent hours looking at the awesome collection of skate videos in the back. This rental store has VHS, dvds, and blue ray. There are some available to buy in the back as well, for only $1 each! I will recommend this place to any movie buff or nostalgia addict.

You know those Miyazaki movies that no one rents and aren’t on any streaming service? That the only way to watch is to purchase it for $20? You can walk in here and rent the DVD for two bucks. All those, and all the others you just can’t find anywhere. Run as a labor of love by two brothers, who can tell you which title to watch next.

Great prices for an extensive collection of diverse films. It reminded me of going to Blockbuster every Friday with my family and spending an hour reading the back of all the movies to finally find what to watch.

Great Place to go if your on a hunt for a movie!! These guys know there movies. I think they have everyone that was ever made or they will know where to find it.

All the movies you could want! So old school it's the only scoop left VHS DVD Blueray. Ancient favorites from gradeschool to current releases.
