I can't sing SNAC's praises enough. Max was amazing to work with and gave us top-notch recommendations of where to go, what to rent, for how long, and how to haul, including assurance that our truck would safely fit 4 adult sized kayaks without need of a trailer (which we also were able to reserve "just in case"). Knowing that our reservation was secure and that we'd have help loading, instruction on how to unload, and an easy return process made it so that we could enjoy our day out worry free.

I can't wait until our next visit to Arnold so I can explore their other recommendations, but they have definitely set the bar for all water sport rental experiences going forward. We're from San Diego and have rented paddle boards from two companies local to us which were all positive, but our experience with SNAC was miles above in friendliness, attention to detail, and quality. Great guys. Sold us a kayak and some straps to carry it, as a gift for our 7 year old boy. It was a Wake kayak rated up to 150 lbs, bright green color, and a paddle. We like that our son can use it for years with that rating, a welcomed change from having to buy new gear every year in almost every other sport. I feel like we got a great value. Even if you could find lower price on Amazon, they have great inventory and there is no wait on shipping, it’s supporting a local business, and the service is fantastic. They answered all our questions, showed me how to secure the kayak to the roof, and provided terrific service at and after the sale. My son took to it intuitively and has been unstoppable on White Pines and alpine. Thank you very much for everything. We will be back for more outdoor fun stuff!

Great local source for mountain water sports equipment, hiking gear, clothing, and much more. Wonderful and very helpful to us every time we visit. Picked up a great shirt on this trip!!

Fast and friendly service. Rented a two person kayak for the day and it worked out great. They virtually had it on my car before I finished the paperwork.

They have this down to a science when it comes to renting ski equipment. So efficient and so good. What's also great is they allow an early bird rental so if you get there a day before you need your skis between two and four you can pick up your skis and then use them the next day and you don't get charged that day for the rental. And if you rent for more than one day you get 20% off the next day. Also had a great selection of apparel that you might need or forgot. Very nice staff also explain this to me over the phone before I came up so it was a great experience we'll definitely go back and rent from here again.

Rented snowboards here. The staff are extremely friendly. Bear Valley was closed our second day for wind and refunded no problem. Rentals, gear, and accessories are much more affordable than the resort.

Amazing customer service with friendly knowledgeable staff. We've bought two kayaks from SNAC. The first one was a previous rental that was in great condition. We just special ordered our new Hurricane tandem sight unseen over the phone off of a recommendation from another store as they could not get it. Max the salesperson was fantastic! He kept us well informed during the whole process. The store is full of excellent competitively priced outdoor products.

Nice store with a good assortment of outdoor gear and clothing.
Don't go expecting REI but a nice local outfitter that knows where the great places are in and around Arnold, Big Trees, Alpine Lake etc.
Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Employees were very friendly, knowledgeable about boards/kayaks and gave advice that made sense for what we are looking for and our family's size/age. They also rent and will kick back the rental cost to buying, if you are interested in trying something out first.

This city girl needed some major help problem solving transporting a kayak. Not only did Sean and his team have the perfect solution, they inspected my car for the proper fit and trained me on what to do! This kind of customer service can't be beat!

Great place to get your adventure gear!

Staff was very helpful. Selection was well laid out and reasonably priced. This is not your discount store, but they aren't picking your pocket for forgetting to shop in the valley.

To begin with I was very appreciative of the people who helped us at this outfitters Sean and Chad were very helpful in showing us the best camping spots and how to get there. Then we realized our rental car could not take the trailer of boats they had prepared for us and we thought there might be no way for us to take the boats. Sean, Chad and Joseph were unperturbed and immediately found a way to put them on top of the car. Chad and Joseph walked us through how to attach the boats. We highly recommend renting from this place, they will make sure you are well taken care of.

We stop here several times a year and the selection and service are great. Winter, summer and every season they have what we need to have a quality experience in Bear Valley and around the Sierra Nevada area.

Love this place. The staff are super nice and helpful. You could forget everything and get it all at SNAC (well, everything except food). The gear is quality and return times for rentals won't cut into your play time.
