Hickory Flat Pottery

I kept saying I'd stop in to the pottery shop, and then my sister in law said she'd like to go, so we did! They have several collections of pottery sorted by color and style. Many functional items, as well as just plain nice to look at pieces. They have many other items such as fabrics, candles, etc. Walking around the old house is an absolute treat. I purchased an orchid pot in the most beautiful shades of green and brown. Be sure to slow down and stop in.

Took a wrong turn on way home from Clayton.... So glad we did. This is a wonderful not so little store, with beautiful displays of pottery, silk scarfs, fabrics, etc... The pottery is fantastic, and had to add to my local mug collection. We will stop by any time we are in the area,

We loved the fact that we could just walk around the shop and garden. The pottery is all beautiful but we needed two new mugs and found the perfect ones.

We happened across HFP in October as we drive south to FL. It was a last minute, hit the break, decision…and it was fabulous! The artistry in the merchandise is so well done and unusual, from pottery to leather, woodworking and textiles.

On a second trip in just two months back to the northern GA area, a return trip was a must and we loaded up on Christmas gifts. It was as great as the first time!

Visited for a second time after my first visit 2 years ago. If we lived closer we would be buying items more often. Wonderful family owned business. Their excellent craftsmanship shows in the pieces that are hand crafted.

This is the pottery artist's own studio and shop. When we arrived, he was just starting a new pottery item, and we were able to watch him throw out on the wheel and start creating! Many completed pieces are displayed in different rooms and porch of the old house. If you love pottery, it's certainly worth stopping here!

Beautiful handmade pottery. Bought a rustic cream colored mug and a pair of wooden stamped chopsticks two Christmases ago and when I walked in I was instantly greeted by the aroma of hot apple cider. Cozy atmosphere.

This is a beautiful family-owned business of pottery and handmade crafts. They were super friendly! We could have spent hours looking at everything in their shop... and consequently could have spent hundreds of dollars more than we did. We'd gladly come back if we were ever in the area!

A definite must see, if you're in the area and have any interest in pottery! Inside you'll find a very diverse collection of works-- functional and decorative pieces with most having very unique and interesting glaze applications. It doesn't take too much to throw a piece and get something decent, but their works are well above average. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are happy to answer questions and give suggestions. I have had some experience working with ceramics so we had a great conversation. If you're just looking for a souvenir - a lot of beautiful pieces and the prices aren't astronomical.

Commissioned Cody to make new mugs-tumblers and a large sugar bowl, hit it out of the park. Pieces are uniform in size, glazing very intricate, well pleased.
