Hub Hobby Center

I've come here for the last 12 years or so, mainly for RC cars. I got my very first RC car here. They're all very friendly and nice people. There's an older gentleman who's consistently been here many times I stop by. He's always very insightful and helpful.

I bought a few replacement parts yesterday afternoon, and I had the great privilege of talking with a younger guy named Kyle. He was willing to talk to me for a while about all of my weird and random questions, while also giving cool insight into the hobby store world. These fun conversations are what makes me come to a store rather than ordering online. What's also great is they let me poke around for the part numbers I was looking for, but also were present and eager to help me find the parts I couldn't find.

Love this place. They have grown man toys. RC planes, helicopters, boats, Semi big rigs with trailer, trucks, cars, motorcycles, sailboats, and jetski's. Plus, you can get a trailer specifically for the watercraft. Model kits , outside games, action figures, and did I say trains, yes trains of a different variety and brands. Can you tell that I get really excited when I talk about Hub Hobby. I get carried away when I talk about this place. Should see when I go to the store. Gets a little crazy and my wallet hates me..

This is a great hobby store. The staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. It is a combination of hobby store plus toy store so there is something for everyone at any age. If you aren’t careful you could spend hours going through this place.

The remote control (RC) section is incredibly extensive and a lot of fun. I personally am a fan of the large selection of RC parts which is super nice for projects or general repairs.

Went there for my rc car. I got to talk to the staff with pink/red hair. She was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. She’s honest and didn’t convince me to go beyond my price range. The store staffs are so welcoming. It feels like you walk into a place with hobbyists talking to each other rather than seller-customer vibe. Will come back again!

Before you shop anywhere for a kids' gift, you must stop here! They have the best stuffed animals and matching books. Fun toys, educational toys, for all ages. The amount of money we have spent on remote-controlled cars and planes is embarrassing! BUT, if you have any questions, the staff has the answers. They are extremely helpful. We buy our West epoxy for our business there as well, and the points we aquire are very rewarding.

This place is great. It has just about everything a hobbyist could want. The guys who work on RC cars and other remote control vehicles are really helpful. It's the best hobby shop in the cities, hands down.

One of the best in Minnesota. Every toy lover collector should go to this store.

Wacky, thorough, and always guaranteed to make you marvel at their selection. I went here a lot as a kid for plane and car models, and continue to shop for various specialty items, gifts, and the sheer novelty. I have gotten board games, puzzles, die cast Ferraris, sandpaper, model rocket parts, and much more. Also really enjoy bringing my father-in-law, as he is a model train enthusiast - Hub Hobby is paradise for him.

I was here for several things that I needed and they actually helped me in everything and they also did the job and many recommendations and tips They installed a new receiver of my Baja Rey 1/10 I could see all the work, I bought new parts, they welded the cables of new lights and bought adapters, shock oil according to their recommendations

A good place and very good service even though I don’t speak English at 100% these people are really good and kind

I love to buy D&D books and looking at the train. I mean OMG!!! Why is it so detailed?!?! Did you know that the tiny people placed dynamite on the train bridge? Did you notice the car race? Did you notice the people hitching a ride on the train? Did you see Santa's feet sticking out of the snow?!?! There were so many details, I spent at least 15 minutes just staring at the many, many details and unique easter eggs on and around the trains. 5 stars just for that, but there are so many neat things as decoration around the stores, and the employees are so knowledgeable on the selection of the store. It was a slice of geeky para-dice (get it?)

Great hobby store! Probably one of the best ones in the twin cities, if not THE best. I don't know anything about model trains, planes, or automobiles, but they had lots and lots of stuff for those interests, and experts about them on staff. They also had working model trains set up with lots of little jokes, including a scene of Godzilla terrorizing a train track on a bridge through a mountain pass, with broken trains fallen down the mountainside, the remains of his wrath. So, even if model trains aren't your thing, there are a lot of fun things to look at.

They also had cross stitch kits, outdoor hobby stuff, rubber band shooting canons, model trebuchet kits, board games for adults and kids, gift items, stuffed animals, craft kits for kids, toys, Legos, Playmobil, those wonderful Schleich toy animals that I always wanted as a kid, and all the basic craft supplies like epoxy and exacto knives. They had an entire aisle full of jigsaw puzzles, from all the different brands--some nice, some cheesy, but something for everyone.

I went on a Saturday and it was very busy. There were screaming children and screaming adults (parents, not employees), which made the experience less pleasant than it might have been otherwise. So be forewarned: children scream here. But that could happen anywhere, and even so, I'm definitely going to come back here for gifts for my nieces.

This is the last of an era. I bought my first RC there from John and Jonathan 30 years ago and they are still there. A great place to take the kids for games and hobbies or spark a new interest.

Bought Estes rockets there. Fair prices, great place to find all kinds of great hobby’s for kids and adults!

Stumbled in here looking for help with an RC plane… had no idea I would come across nostalgic candy, a huge variety of amazing board games and puzzles, and toys and RC items galore. What a fun discovery!

I've been waiting on the Traxxas Slash kit to become available on the Traxxas site for a while but no luck. Hub Hobby was one of the few that had it in stock. I ordered it and got it 3 days later from Minnesota to Texas! Great shipping service and will definitely keep these guys in mind for online orders.

This place is awesome! They have a good selection of games and toys not found at chain stores. Additionally, their model making, scale train supplies, RC supplies and miniatures selection are really great. It's definitely worth checking them out before buying elsewhere online.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside you'll basically find hobbyist heaven. At this point Hub Hobby is my go-to for models and supplies. It's one of the only stores I've been to in recent memory where they actually have appreciable discounts on items, not to mention a rewards program if you're planning on becoming a long term customer. The staff in my experience is very friendly whether you're asking them questions in person or even shooting them a question on Facebook. Their Gundam section is especially notable to me, with the best selection I've seen in the entire state and a bunch of other Japanese model kits right next to all the Warhammer you could want. Puzzles, classic games, tabletop, wargaming, RC vehicles and all the tools and specialist items you could need. I feel like this place is an incredible boon to the whole local hobbyist community and I look forward to each and every visit I take to this location. Just exceptional stuff.

Hub Hobby is amazing, the staff is great and the products are top notch. I love Hub Hobby, I grew up on the track in Little Canada, they have a crawler track at the Little Canada location. Ask for Paul and Shawn they know thier stuff!!

Best of the best!! Staff is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and John and the boys will get you taken care of, whatever RC or hobby needs you might have. Solid advice, great selection of TrAXXAS models, RC vehicles, PLANES, drones, drone accesories. Even if you need assembly, wires soldered, or shop time, they will make it happen. I have been using the RICHFIELD Hub Hobby Center for better than 15 years--- Best in the TwinCities, by far!!

Love these guys. Everyone is always helpful and friendly and I’m extremely please with my new toys.
