Finally a place in the Cullman area that has a fabulous selection of gifts, kitchen supplies, condiments and meats! The owner was super friendly and explained that they were very particular about their products and all the meats are from their own family farm.

If you enjoy cooking or grilling this is a great place. I’m contemplating buying all my Christmas gifts here. Please get out and support these folks.

If we can be constructive, we would recommend that the owners place signage that can be seen from the road. Existing signage is inadequate, to us. Also, cleaning up the roadside in front of the store would help…it looks a bit abandoned. We passed by several times before we heard about it and wondered what it was. Perhaps owners have plans in progress, just hoping to be helpful!

Our family of 5 enjoyed shopping local today at Mavens & Makers. It’s located right passed the Cullman Funeral home on US Hwy 278. The owners are very friendly and personable. Everything from local farm raised meats, chicken eggs, goat cheese, kitchenware, and crafts.

The cutest store! They have wonderful a gift selection followed by very reasonable prices! The lady that helped us was exceptionally nice and helpful. I did not purchase any but saw where they sell local meat. If you’re not from Cullman, this place is definitely worth the drive!

Really friendly folks, phenomenal selection of both local and artisanal goods, as well as hard to find spices! They carry a number of seasoning blends (including the labor and resource intensive Ras el hanout) some beautiful finishing salts, local crafts, seasonal decor for keeping a fine table, etc. I will be back to explore and will bring a cooler so I can grab some of the local meats they carry.

What a treasure! We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed expert advice. It is worth a visit and you will surely find something special to take home.

Mavens is flat-out the best place to get local, humanely raised beef, pork, and lamb. They also carry a variety of quality kitchen items. Oh! And the charcuterie from The Underground Butcher can't be beat!

Awesome experience. Family owned and operated locally raised beef pork and more. Kitchen and cooking essentials easily found here. It's worth the trip!
