Welcome to heaven on earth! This candy shop has been authentically hand making their candy since 1920! I was in awe during my entire tour of their operation!
Who could imagine, using the same 100 year old machines they used when they started! Not to mention the quality control to guarantee that every bite is phenomenal!

Would highly recommend going on this FREE tour! It’s a no brainer! Very kid friendly , my kids had a blast! Watching the delicious candy we eat every holiday being made was UNREAL! Every Christmas my sons each get a stocking full of these delicious delights so imagine our surprise when we were able to watch them make our Christmas goodies!
At the end of the tour we got the reject candy canes but even these look as good as the ones in the shop!
Definitely broke the bank in the storefront after because we stocked up for the rest of the year, the prices are super fair!

We decided to stop in on a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, we were too late for the tour. But we were glad we stopped because they recommended we have advance reservations. So we scheduled time for the next day.

We bought some treats that were reduced in price and then came back the next day for the tour. I’d say the tour runs 20-30 minutes, beginning with a 10-minute video. Since it was a Saturday, there weren’t as many people working, but we were still able to watch a number of workers making various candies.

At the end of the tour, we received a free full-size candy cane. I don’t know if they give out the same flavor after every tour, but ours were cherry. So it’s a free tour with a free treat at the end!

The tour ends back in the gift shop. We decided to buy more treats, particularly from the “oops” section in the one corner. We also found some discounted items in the hallway between the gift shop and where the tour starts. Of course, we couldn’t leave without buying some chocolate. So, yes, it’s a free tour, but be prepared to spend some money on additional candy.

The staff were super friendly and remembered us when we came back the next day. I was impressed by their service.

As for getting there, when we first went, I thought Google maps was taking us to the wrong place, but it was correct. The building sits off the road behind several other buildings, so just watch the directions on where to turn. At least one entrance had a sign, but it was small.

There’s lots of free parking around the factory.

Enjoy the factory, but be prepared to leave with a lighter wallet and maybe a larger waistline.

What a fun place with sooooooooo many great candy options - definitely plan to stop in and visit when you're in Denver!

My 17 year old daughter and I stopped in on a Friday morning in July of 2024. There was a bus full of students inside on a field trip but it wasn't too crowded as it's a pretty big space.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of sweet options here! Every kind of chocolate and taffy and marshmallow you can think of and many you never would have even thought of.

We didn't do a tour but would definitely look to do that next time.

It was pretty hot when we were there, so we didn't buy a lot of chocolate since we had other stops to make. Next time, we would likely plan to make this the last stop of our day or at least have a plan in place to keep chocolate treats from melting after we left.

Hammond's was the 1st stop on our Denver vacation and 1 of our favorites! The vanilla caramel was delicious 😋. We enjoyed the tour and video of the history of the factory. If you visit Denver I urge you to visit this facility for the nostalgia alone!

What a cool candy factory! Small and in operation for over 100 years, Hammonds is a Denver treasure. Tours are free, though not extremely long. Watch a video to learn about the history of the company, then see candy pros (sorry no Oompa Loompas) do their magic. Tons of options to select from in the store. A fun visit for the kids or to pick up a fun and tasty gift

We scheduled our tour in advance, which I would recommend. It was short and simple, but it really hit the point of how much work goes into candy making, most of which here is still done by hand. We went on a weekend, so several departments weren't on that day, but still plenty to see. There's lots of history and hard-working people here. The staff was generally friendly, and at the end of the tour, we received a free sample. Candy prices were reasonable and a lot of variety to choose from. Kids loved it, and the tour is free.

Bought a variety of candies. Tried to get everything they have been making for years. The lady at the counter was very nice. She let us go on the tour because some people didn’t show up for their scheduled tour. The guy in the back admonished us for not making a reservation and lectured us about the tour policy and how we should have gotten a reservation. I thought that was a little weird and aggressive. We didn’t do it on purpose. We’re on vacation and saw something interesting so we stopped by. Other than that we enjoyed the tour and I’m always a fan of any company that can keep it going for many decades.

I was hooked the minute I walked in for the tour. The movie has some great moments and provides a current snapshot Hammond Candy now as well as a historical review. It’s unbelievable that some of the the same equipment is still being used today! Loved seeing the factory floor and all the candy making activities as well as the packaging area. The candy store at the end is magical! Thanks!

We just moved here and I surprised my kids and booked a free candy tour here. We had so much fun. The store was super clean, the staff was friendly, and there was a huge variety of different candies and treats.

I cannot wait to go back!

We always enjoy our time at Hammonds.

We had a great time at the Hammond factory tour today! Eric was absolutely amazing and made a very personalized and memorable visit for my son. We visited a few years back, but this trip was made much better by Eric, he made sure he got my son involved and made the tour fun and very kid friendly. When the tour was over, he walked us through the gift shop to help us find the things we planned on getting, and recommended some of his favorite items. All in all, it was a super fun way to spend part of an afternoon and we plan on returning for sure.

We were able to join the next tour available today, luckily. It was a short movie about the history which had fun trivia quiz questions built in. Then a staff member guided us through the factory viewing corridor and explained each step of the process of making the hard candies, etc that they were making and packaging in the factory. At the conclusion of the tour we each received a freebie peppermint oops candy cane. We really enjoyed all the clearance sections and the variety of candies and chocolates available in the store after the tour. The manager was very helpful throughout our experience and really gave us a "Willy Wonka" time of experience. Just truly magical. We highly recommend the tour and store.

Fun, Informative, and Tasty!

Depending on the day, you might see caramels, lollipops, or candy canes being made ☺...

Before the tour, there's an intro video, and Q&A session; and after the tour, the factory store is fully stocked with fresh candies, ice creams, and misshaped candy on clearance.

You can actually buy Hammond's Caramel by the POUND: If you're a tourist, it's an absolutely great item to bring back home for friends and family.

We totally didn’t realize the latest tour starts around 14:00, so when we showed up at 14:20 we got lucky! They squeezed us in the last tour even though we didn’t have a reservation. Overall a very interesting place with great history. They recycle the candy that isn’t perfect if it hasn’t left their heated candy making room. You get free broken candy at the end, which was great! I spent way too much money in the candy shop but I’m not even mad.

Great place to visit and a must see stop if you are visiting Denver. The candy shop is amazing. There are lots of varieties including fudge, truffles, gourmet bars, and a large assortment of hard candies such as lollipops. The tour is sorry but sweet. The intro video helps set the stage. The actual tour goes by quickly but is entertaining and informative. We got to see one of the founder family members experimenting on a new flavor. You won't get to see something like that at a large batch candy shop. The prices are reasonable but in line with gourmet candy (don't expect Hershey chocolate bar prices).

We missed our tour but we still wanted to see Hammond's and get some candy for our kids. Our super awesome and helpful server even though in some broken candy pieces as they are given away on the tour. That type of service and fantastic attitude is why Hammond's has such a high rating! Thank you!

Hammond’s Candies was a great experience! We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it couldn’t have been better. I was able to add on to the scheduled tour without any pre-booking and the tour was only four of us total! We were able to see everything easily, ask questions, and even received a free candy cane at the end. The store has plenty of items to explore, but some items can be costly. The employees were helpful and friendly.

I would highly recommend checking out the “oops” candies on the other side of the store where you can find amazing deals.

Such a fun experience! Amazingly friendly staff, a wide selection or products, and everything tastes and smells so fresh. This is a great place to do gifts, especially if you have a lot of people to shop for. Seeing is believing!
